We stayed 3 nights in a comfort double room. The room was large and clean and the bed was very comfortable. Our only complaint is that the floor in the shower was a bit slippery. The hotel is tastefully renovated and the staff (Maria) was super friendly when we checked in. The breakfast was very good, and we can also recommend the bar with very reasonable prices.
Loved this hotel in an old school. Nicely designed rooms with high ceilings. Cosy bar. Excellent breakfast, even during corona time (no buffet available, but set menu with 4 options, to be reserved at 7, 8, 9 or 10 o'clock). Nice and quiet location, very close to subway station Rauhes Haus (U2 or U4), which we found to be very practical. (Tip: take a tourist ticket and make sure to also take the ferry line (62) to Finkenwerder for a great view of the city and the harbour from the water.) Secure parking lot next to the hotel. We loved our stay.
We came for a four day long trip in February. Rooms are clean and modern. Breakfast offers a good variety of food. The charm of the old school can still be seen in some of the decor. Staff was okay, not too friendly but also not rude. Could be improved a bit. Overall, nice stay.
Tastefully renovated and decorated with design elements this place has really lots of character! Room was super spacious, with a big wardrobe that could also contain the suitcases. Comfy bed with two different pillows (one ergonomic, a real plus!) and bottle of water was daily replaced. Shower was just like a spa! The only downside was a little bit of flooding due to the door opening on-the-outside-system. Breakfast was excellent with a lot of choice, and served in a beautiful room with nice background music. Also some luxury features such as single teapots, ginger slices, lemon squeezers and fresh slices of cakes (different every day)! I would recommend a kettle in the room and allowing the access from the front (road-side) door only through room-key - for safety reasons. A part from this, 5 stars are well deserved. BRAVO!…
This hotel is a beautiful conversion of a late 19th century brick built school. Our ( premier) room was very spacious, quiet and comfortable with plenty of storage space (often lacking in many hotels we find) . The bathroom had an excellent walk in shower with decent shower pressure. As other reviewers have commented the breakfast buffet was fabulous with a huge choice - delicious bread, good coffee etc. Another plus is the hotel bar which is welcoming and comfortable serving drinks and coffees at reasonable prices. Before our stay, we were a little concerned about the distance of the hotel from Hamburg's major attractions. Our fears proved to be unfounded. The hotel is just 5 minutes walk from where the service into central Hamburg is fast, very frequent and safe. We enjoyed our weeks stay in Hamburg so much we hope to return and would choose this hotel again. It is very good value for money especially considering the high quality of its rooms, breakfast and service.…
