If you are in Frankfurt for a very short relatively affordable stay, this might be an option for you. The building doesn't have an elevator. You need to make your way up by a curvy steep staircase with your heavy suitcases. The rooms have quite outdated and tacky design. Towels were provided by strict rationing. The breakfast is limited to...

Slightly eccentric hotel where each room seems to have it sown theme, ours being the Japanese room. The assorted staff were really helpful when it came to making suggestions about places to go and restaurants to eat in, given that we only had 24 hours in Frankfurt - I would certainly stay here again!

This is a great little hotel in an old building that once belonged to a wealthy brewer. Each room is individual and we stayed in the "Chinese room". This is a large room with a sitting area as well. The staff is very friendly and gave us soem good advise abotu what to see in Frankfurt and noce restaurants in...

I am a local, but whenever family or friends visit, and, I don't have enough space for them, I send them here. It is an old mansion, more of a B&B than hotel. My friend's room was huge, with a bathroom as big as my bedroom, stocked with some fitness equipment as well. Location is prime, too. It is in...

Arriving early in the morning, I was planning to drop off my luggage and kill some time in the City. But the moment I entered the Hotel, I was treated like a long time guest which epitomises the experience at the Am Berg. Located up a hill in the more residential part of Sachsenhausen (across the Main River to the...

I really enjoyed our one night stay here in June 2011. It is a wonderfully charming old building with furnishings and creaky floors that tell you "I am a charming old building". We had the room shown in photos that has the purple curtains and a sitting area. The bathroom was newly renovated. Very nicely done and spacious compared to...

I picked this place as it was near the places we wanted to visit ie museums & Sachsenhausen. It's also walking distance to the Dom & the centre. It is close (5 min walk) to the Sud Bahnhof. The room was very big with small bathroom & clean. Old fashoned furniture but comfortable. It's in an old house which has...

Hotel Am Berg reminded me of the historic bed and breakfasts we have across the United States. Large rooms, creaky stairs and a homey feel. Our rooms were very comfortable, nicely appointed and clean. The optional breakfast was exceptional. If we return to Frankfurt, we would surely consider a return visit.

Had a great two night stay here. Rooms are unexpectedly well-appointed and sizable for the price (though prices are much higher if a trade fair is in town). Interesting look inside and out. Interesting location too, in Sachsenhausen, just South of the Main. Less touristy, with good restaurants and bars. The core of Frankfurt is pretty small, so if the...

The hotel was a great location. Beautiful bed & breakfast like place with artsy decor. I stayed in a class "B" room which was pretty nice; however, one incident sort of spoiled it all. One of the cleaners came in abruptly without knocking. Her demeanor was sort of off-putting. Overall, most of the people were friendly.
