Very nice hotel in the city center of Hannover, a straight walking distance from the central station (which an airport train) and the central shopping area. Although the hotel is in the central location, it faces a quiet street with mime noise from the cars and other vehicles. The rooms are clean and tidy. Doesn't have a tea set in the room, maybe could be added as is customary for most 4 stars hotel. The breakfast is good, has a selection cold (cereal, yogurts, cheeses, ham, salmon, pastry) and hot dishes (sausages, boiled eggs, omelette ). I appreciated lactose-free butter offered as an option to a regular one. Overall a very nice 4 days stay for us. If we are back in Hannover will stay in this hotel again.

In the city center and very close to the train station.

OK rooms, good service and good breakfast buffet. Rooms are more 3-star than the claimed 4-star, but OK.

Walking distance to most things. The hotel offered either a double bed or 2 separate beds, which in the 2 separate bed alternative meant they moved the beds 1/2 a meter apart.

We stayed two nights, on our tour (Hamburg, Bremen, Hamm, Hannover, Hamburg). Lovely hotel, nice reception area and toilets downstairs, Staff extremely friendly,
check in was nice 'n' easy and our room was ready upon arrival.

Room large and comfortable, with a little settee, chair and table which was nice to relax and plan your days. Walk in shower which is always nice rather than a bath. There are sockets next to the bed which I always think is nice.

There was complimentary drink which we enjoyed on our second day, The house wine which was delicious, my husband had a beer. The bar is lovely and staff very friendly.

Breakfast was included in our room rate - lovely breakfast - always been topped up and refreshed - yogurts, fruit, breads, meats, cheese, cakes, croissants there was also hot food to choose from bacon, sausages, shamble eggs, fried potatoes- also beside that section was salmon and tomatoes, cumcumber…. so plenty of choice - The service was lovely and friendly, ordered drinks and coffee pot brought to our table. Juices were also available.

The hotel location is very good, a short walk from the train station.

Can leave your luggage and it is kept in a secure room.

This is the second time at this hotel ( 5 years ago) and it has been refurbished we think and it is beautiful.

The only thing I could say that there was no tea or coffee faculties in room , although we never asked but you may be able to get coffee for your room if you ask at reception as while at the bar we saw a coffee pot been refilled.

While at Hannover I recommend the Red Thread walk you can buy a guide at the tourist office €3 And also the zoo is wonderful too.

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic and the global shut down of travel, Hotel Loccumer Hof refused to refund any of our money. They provided no customer service and have treated us with contempt.

Do not visit this hotel! Disgusting behaviour in these terrible times.

It always fascinates me how establishments that earn a living in the hospitality industry, make absolutely no effort to be hospitable. The sign of high quality managerial prowess can be seen, can really shine at times like these (The Covid-19 Pandemic). This hotel didnt seize the oportunity. A very poor show. I cant recommend this hotel to anyone.

After the reviews on tripadvisor and particularly the photos of the themed rooms, I was looking forward to staying at this hotel. However, the themed rooms cost an additional 30 Euros and the normal room was nothing special.

Pros: Rooms are quite spacious, tiny balcony on most rooms (I guess is good for smokers), excellent restaurant food. Location within walking distance of the main railway station (HBF), great breakfast.

Cons: The hotel is positioned right on the tram line which means that you can feel and hear the rumbling every few minutes when a tram goes by. Despite the double glazed windows & doors, the noise level is higher than average. I'm a heavy sleeper so it was not too much trouble for me. However, the room was cold and not heated when I arrived in January which was not a nice reception. No tea/coffee facilities (though I know you don't always get this in Germany), the bed was extremely soft and the shower was extremely small, not a problem for me as I'm slim, but could be disastrous if you are slightly overweight as you cannot turn. The showerhead kept sliding down the pole too.

Summary: All in all, the hotel was okay but as you can get a lot of good cheap hotels and "Pensionen" (B&B style inns), I found this very expensive for what it was.

However I would possibly stay here again because of the excellent restaurant, easy connection to the airport via train but only if I got a cheaper deal. (My room cost ÂŁ132.00)

Stayed here for 5 nights during the recent Hannover Messe exhibition.

The hotel is less than 1km from the Hannover Haupbahnhof (train station), so easily walking distance and very convenient for exhibition goers, because you can go directly to Messe via the U-Bahn or S-Bahn.

Double room was more than adequate, modernly furnished, and Kurt's bar was very nice with great service and good quality food.

Big negative was the internet, both wi-fi and connected internet are included with the room price, but the speeds are atrocious .. many times it would take several minutes to load a single web page, with the speed being well below normal dialup speed. Needless to say, trying to check business emails and communicate with colleages overseas was an absolutely impossibility.

Being a business hotel, I feel that the internet speed is important, no real complaints other than the internet speed, which should seriously be looked at by management.

We booked this hotel for a business trip to Hanover and were pleasently surprised. The outside of the hotel does not look to promising at all but as soon as you are entering you are welcomed by friendly reception staff.
We recommend you book the theme rooms, they are very special and you will feel at home,
I was in Sam Nok and my colleague in Mexico - both rooms are spacious with individual design. Mexico is bright and sunny, Sam Nok a little darker but ever so cosy, every evining we
sat down in Sam Nok for a cup of tea and a chat.
I believe their are 20 theme rooms, the other rooms are standard designs.
The old ttown (with restaurants) and station, shopsand theatre are all in walking distance.
Would go back anytime - can recommend the Thai restaurant www.ruenthai.de/restaurant.htm
very nice food to complete the stay in Sam Nok. Enjoy !!!

I stayed at the Loccumer Hof Hotel in Hannover during the last of July / first of August of 2006. The main body of the hotel is fairly old and like most hotels in the north of Germany it is not air conditioned. My first day at the hotel the temperature for the day was in the mid 30’s C (mid 90’s F). As these buildings were designed to keep heat in, my first impression was of a dry sauna.

I stayed in room 202 initially. It was of an average size (for European standards) and adequate furnishing. The window of the room opened in to the center courtyard/parking lot of the hotel. It would have been fine were it not for the heat – no air circulation and no relief.

I suffered through the first night, but in the morning I asked for a room with air conditioning. Initially I was told that nothing was available. I persisted and with the help of a “cheesy” card trick, I was upgraded to a two room suite with air conditioning for a mere €20 per night. Money and card game well spent!

This suite, room 723, was wonderful with the exception of the street noise. It faces Kurt-Schumacherstrasse. There are numerous trolleys that run day and night. If your budget can spare the extra €20 per night, I highly recommend upgrading.

Breakfast is average. The bar was only open one night and it very small but adequate for a quick beer before going to dinner.

The restaurant was only open for breakfast. Breakfast was adequate, but nothing special.

The summary of this hotel is that it is adequate for business purposes due to it’s reasonable price, and adequate accommodations. The location to the train station is excellent if you are traveling by train. It is rated a 4 Star in their literature, but I would give it only a strong 3 Stars.

Overall an excellent hotel. Great location in a fantastic historical city. Exceptionally clean modern hotel. Fresh flowers throughout the ground floor & toilets, welcoming and helpful staff, large and comfortable rooms. The restaurant and bar are well worth a visit, the food was excellent. All front staff speak very good English. Will definitely recommend to family and friends.

Best way to get from the airport to the hotel?
Answer from Andreas R
Hannover, Germany
You can take the suburban train from underneath the airport to Hannover Hauptbahnhof. From there it is a 5 Minute walk. Alternatively you could take a taxi, approx EUR 30,00.
