The Van Der Valk Hotel Hildesheim garners applause for its central location on the historic market square, which guests find convenient and serene. Its amenities, including the cozy beds and spacious rooms, earn rave reviews, although the additional charges for certain services such as breakfast items and parking have drawn some criticism.
The service is frequently described as friendly and professional, adding to the welcoming and historically charming atmosphere of the hotel. While the cleanliness of the hotel is consistently praised, the need for pool renovations and occasional noise in rooms are areas noted for improvement.

The Van Der Valk Hotel Hildesheim is a very nice and luxurious hotel right in the historic center of Hildesheim. Upon arrival you can park in a public car park with direct access to the hotel. Parking costs €9.50 per day with unlimited entry and exit. The hotel room was spacious and very clean. Unfortunately there was a problem with a window which could not be closed and we were immediately offered another (larger) room. We stayed three nights with breakfast and also ate twice in the evening in the restaurant. Everything was a top experience!

My visit to the Van Der Valk Hotel in Hildesheim was an extremely positive experience, which was exactly what I expected for the price. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the friendly reception staff, who seemed very trained and professional. Their hospitality made me feel immediately welcome, a feeling that continued throughout my stay.
The cleanliness and hygiene of my room were impeccable, which is always an important criterion for me. Despite the hotel's central location right on the market, it was surprisingly quiet, with no disturbance from outside noise. The hotel may be small, but it exudes a cozy and welcoming atmosphere that makes it a charming place to stay. It is obvious that great importance is placed on an appropriate level of comfort and quality, which was exactly what I expected in terms of value for money.
For travelers looking to explore Hildesheim, the Van Der Valk Hotel offers the perfect base. After a day of sightseeing, the hotel bar is the ideal place to end the evening in a calm and relaxing atmosphere.
In summary, my stay at the Van Der Valk Hotel in Hildesheim offered an experience that was exactly what I expected for the price I paid. The combination of excellent service, impeccable cleanliness and an ideal location made my visit pleasant and satisfying. The staff's commitment to hospitality and the quality of the facilities are commendable and make this hotel a recommended choice for a stay in Hildesheim.

The central location right on the market square (we had a room with a view of the market), the parking garage with direct access to the hotel and a swimming pool were the criteria for us when choosing the hotel. The breakfast was good, but unfortunately the hotel was fully booked and the breakfast room was very busy and the "refilling" of the buffet unfortunately didn't really work out very well. The beds were good. Our room had two floors with a small connecting staircase. It didn't bother us, but it could be a problem if you have walking difficulties. All in all, it was a really nice stay and the hotel is recommended.

We have now been several times at Van der Valk in Hildesheim and were always very satisfied. The only criticism concerns the room service...with 10 euros per order (!!!) we find this very overpriced. We also find it outrageous that we are charged extra for the coffee ordered in the morning, although we always book the stay including breakfast. Which means we have to pay for the coffee twice. Maybe the management will think about it?

The location of the hotel right at the historic core in Hildesheim is outstanding. Underground parking is available for the car. The room leaves almost nothing to be desired. Spacious, clean and well equipped. Why a safe is installed almost at floor level, however, is not obvious to me. Just good that it could be removed from the closet and put on the desk. Probably not that intentional though.:-)
Very good is also the small swimming pool of the hotel.
Almost the whole house is very tastefully decorated, only the restaurant area drops significantly. This area is far too small for the number of guests. Couples are placed in the restaurant at small tables of two, along the walkway of guests and staff. Calm and cosiness cannot arise like this.
The buffet area is far too small to accommodate the mass of guests at breakfast times. If you’re lucky and the weather plays along, then you’d better avoid going outside.
The quality of the food in the evening was excellent and the breakfast offer was also good.

We arrived late, so it was important that reception is open 24 h and it was easy to park in the garage under the hotel. The room was very spacious and nice and there was good space for an extra bed that we needed. It was available as we booked the room directly from the hotel's own website. Breakfast and lunch were excellent, as well as bar in the evening. The pool and gym were very nice to visit, too. Also, the location next to a fairy-tale-looking marketplace and the well-preserved interior spaces of the hotel were unique.

The hotel itself is very nice and the rooms are functionally furnished. The bathroom was also bright and the shower was top notch.
The breakfast buffet was extensive - but with a lot of people on a Sunday morning, there was a lot of crowding in the small corridors through the displays.
What bothered me most: the buffet has almost everything, from coffee, tea, various juices and even sparkling wine - but I should have paid extra for sparkling mineral water (this was confirmed to me by two service staff). I don't need coffee or tea in the morning - a well-chilled mineral water is enough for me. I absolutely cannot understand why it is becoming more and more common in Germany to only provide still water. Even if that sounds petty, because of this fact it will remain a one-time visit!

The Van der Valk in Hildesheim (D) is located in the center of this beautiful city with a lot of history and is on the Unesco list. On the Center/Point of Sale side the hotel looks old, but what I understood is that it is not. At the back is a modern wing of the complex with some modern rooms on the top floor with a nice balcony facing west on which you can enjoy the afternoon sun, which we found very pleasant. The hotel is a great base, with (public) parking under the hotel, to admire the center and the history of the city. Breakfast was unfortunately variable. The 1st morning it was good and extensive. The second morning, the dishes with “standard” cold cuts and cheese fillings had been replaced by the dishes from the fish buffet from the night before. That one offers that extra is fine, but that should not be at the expense of the standard breakfast offer. Although this was really obvious, the “cook” I addressed denied this. The dinner was also very disappointing. That you have to “look” for your schnitzel on your plate at AND a Van Der Valk AND also in Germany is special, with the taste also very disappointing ("unfortunately" not bad enough to send back, you have to be that honest). The restaurant part still needs a lot of work. Very unfortunate for this, in itself nice, hotel in a nice city.

Our stay at the hotel was truly exceptional. From start to finish, we had nothing to complain about. The hotel team gave us a warm welcome and took extremely good care of us throughout our stay.
Our room was spotlessly clean and comfortably furnished. The amenities left nothing to be desired and the beds were extremely comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep.
The dining experience in the hotel restaurant was also outstanding. The food was delicious and we were impressed by the variety on the menu. The restaurant staff were extremely attentive and friendly.
The location of the hotel was ideal for our needs as it was very close to the attractions we wanted to visit.
Overall, we were extremely happy with our stay and can recommend this hotel without reservation. We will definitely return if the opportunity arises. Thank you to the whole team for an unforgettable time!

The location is great, right in the center. You can park in the basement of the hotel, but unfortunately it is on the expensive side. The hotel is great but on the pricey side. Rooms are nice and large including air conditioning. The breakfast is extensive, but avoid rush hours because then the buffet is very busy and too small. We did not eat in the restaurant because of the prices, but from experience we know that the cuisine is very good.

I don't recall an iron. Irons in the closet are American more than European. But just ask the manager and a staff member may come to provide an iron and ironing board, as it's unwise to iron on top of furniture.
Dear Guest,
there is public underground parking directly below the hotel with direct access to the hotel. You can pay for the parking ticket at the hotel reception desk. Our hotel guests pay a reduced rate of € 9.50 for 24 hours.
