I stayed in this hotel for a week as I was in Bonn for work.

I was given a room on the ground floor which you might want to avoid if you have luggage as you need to climb a few stairs before reaching the area of the rooms. One of my colleagues had a huge suitcase and we had to carry it together because she was also given a room on the ground floor. Note that these rooms lead to the entrance of the hotel so while noise is not an issue, if you are uncomfortable with being so close to the main door, avoid the ground floor.

The rooms are ok for a few days with a small work space and another little convenient table and chairs. The bathroom was very small but ok for a few days. It had a great radiator/towel drier that kept the bathroom warm and the towels dry.

Food at the buffet breakfast was GREAT and every day I was greeted by a lovely gentleman who seems to be in charge of breakfast. He walks around offering coffee to people and if you say yes, he bring you a big jar of drip coffee from the kitchen. He has so much energy and always seemed to be so busy helping people and wishing everyone a good day.

I had some issues connecting to Wi-Fi and connectivity was not great but it was not a big problem for me as I spent most of the day at work.

Staff at reception were ok. Helpful, not necessarily very welcoming but polite and efficient.

This hotel is very conveniently located only a few mins walk from bars, restaurants and the Haribo shop. If you need a taxi, hotel staff can book it for you.

The year a visit to the Christmas market was on the program and had chosen to stay overnight at the Ameron Hotel. The hotel has its own garage. The room/bathroom were nice and hygienic. The breakfast was good with a wide choice of bread and types of toppings. We sat for breakfast in the room where one overlooks the Rhine. Friendly staff in both the breakfast room and reception. The location in relation to the center of Bonn is very convenient.

We travel a lot and I have to say that our stay at the Königshof was by far the best we have had in a long time.
The entire staff was very attentive and made our stay unforgettable with humor and style.
The modern retro decor is particularly striking.
In addition, the breakfast buffet left nothing to be desired and the dinner in the in-house restaurant was very good.

Unfortunately, I can't say anything particularly positive about the hotel. I arrived very late in the evening and was given what was probably the worst room in the whole hotel. Very small, it smelled really bad of sewage and the room overlooked the backyard. And in this backyard was the air conditioning control, which was so noisy that you couldn't even think about sleeping. Unfortunately, it wasn't possible to move because the hotel was fully booked. Luckily, I was allowed to move the next day because I was at an all-day event, which was organized and the new room was very attractive.

There were a few other strange experiences. You can only rent an umbrella for a 10 euro deposit (in cash), and they don't accept having this charged to your credit card. So you don't get an umbrella even if it rains.

Unfortunately, breakfast is also below average and you have to queue for ages at the coffee machine. Unfortunately, the breakfast room was overcrowded, the service was also rather mediocre and the selection was definitely not 4 star.

I was really looking forward to this hotel, but unfortunately it was a disappointment. Even though I was allowed to move, I have to say that the fact that a hotel even offers a room like the one I had on the first night leaves me speechless.

First of all, I can say that the hotel has a nice location, right on the Rhine and within walking distance of the center and train station. But not worth 4 stars. The deluxe suite rooms have a view over the Rhine. We booked a ‘cheap’ 3 night package with a gift in the room-not present, bathrobes-not present. The hotel is old but renewed. Unfortunately, the walls are made of paper and you can hear the rooms next to you very well. We were unlucky because we had a very noisy couple next to us who were making noise until the morning. We had to call the reception twice for this. The Deluxe Room is small to give it the name ‘Deluxe’. Products in the bathroom were limited for a four-star hotel. Quality of towels was substandard. Way too thin. In the bathroom there is not enough space to hang a towel open to dry. The suction is automatic and continues for a long time after you have showered. Very annoying if you want to go to sleep right after your shower. Use of sauna. There needs to be a good cleaning because there were spider wires in the relaxation area and the shower room. Bathrobes we did not get as there were towels available. Breakfast ok but the staff are mainly students who still have a lot to learn. Not worth 4 stars either. The breakfast room itself was very nice with a view of the Rhine. Knowledge of English limited in the breakfast room staff. We have to catch up to talk about a four-star hotel. The hotel has to rely mainly on its location.

First of all:
The staff at this hotel were all very friendly and accommodating, from reception to the restaurant. That always makes a stay OK, even if other details are perhaps not quite right.

The hotel is located directly on the Rhine and offers direct access to the promenade. From the restaurant terrace in particular you have a beautiful view of the river. The hotel can be reached on foot from the main train station in 10-15 minutes.

Unfortunately, the conference organizer booked me a not so nice room. It was quite small, but clean. Unfortunately, the room smelled quite musty. The window facing the backyard and especially the lawn (which does not belong to the hotel) made it less attractive to ventilate, especially since the windows did not have any sunshades.

Furthermore, in this apparently quite inexpensive category (I paid significantly more to the organizer, but the hotel cannot do anything about that), there was no minibar available; if you wanted something, you had to buy it at reception.

The fitness area was very manageable, but I decided not to use it. Firstly, it was far too warm to use one of the 3-4 cardio machines. On the other side, you have the banks of the Rhine right in front of you.

If I have any major criticism, it is about the catering. On the first day, I went to the hotel restaurant at around 8:30 p.m., which had free seats but was not able to prepare a meal for me. Mind you, it was an Italian restaurant that served pasta, among other things. That is extremely encouraging when you have been travelling by train all day and were looking forward to dinner in the restaurant.

The breakfast buffet, on the other hand, did not live up to the hotel's standards in any way. One coffee machine for the whole restaurant is FAR too little, and you couldn't order anything from the waitress either. On both days, only two boxes of hot food were empty, the sausage obviously came out of the packet, I took the last mini croissant each time, etc. etc.. that was really bad (especially if you didn't get anything at the restaurant the night before).

We stayed 4 nights in this hotel.

Whilst the room was clean it was disappointing that there was no tea/coffee making facilities.

It was also annoying to be told our room wouldn't be cleaned/or towels changed unless you specifically request that. I do understand that we all need to do our bit for the environment but found this unacceptable for a so called 4* hotel. I was also not impressed that when staff had entered room to leave fresh towels that was literally all they did, they didnt even take away used wine/beer glasses.

The outside area which looks beautiful in photos was not able to be used as all cushions were removed. There had been some rain on our visit but not the whole time we were there!

Overall I didn't feel the hotel was good value for money.

Hotel in a great central location, a stone's throw from the main attractions and also from the central station. Very nice location, although the weather did not make me enjoy it, it is located right in front of the Rhine and this makes it a wonderful location. Sauna ok, if you have nothing, the staff can provide bathrobe and slippers. Good and varied breakfast. Leave the coffee alone. Spacious room, but absolutely to redo the walls in some places of the room completely dirty, scratched... Even the interior of the hotel, including the elevator, would definitely need to be retouched, the structure you can see that it is years old. Staff not always so nice, it depends on who I found, for an evening I wanted to have dinner in the room, the reception were quite unpleasant when I asked for information, in the end I phoned, they put me in touch with the restaurant, which answered after almost a minute and I definitely left it alone, they made me go hungry. So NO to room service. Another thing, the Wifi is really slow and does not always work and the room just arrived was very cold, I had to turn on all the heating possible and put the radiators at maximum, absurd really...

The hotel is centrally located and you can reach the center on foot in just a few minutes. The view of the Rhine, if booked, should not be overestimated as it is only a snapshot. It is certainly worth highlighting that you can sit outside in the complex when the weather is nice.
I rate my requirements differently. I missed the option of being provided with drinks when I arrived in the lobby. Since the facility did not allow this, a drinks menu would have been appropriate so that you could order the drink from someone else.
If you have to have breakfast in the function room, there is no atmosphere at all. The view of the Rhine doesn't help either. The tables are brought back and forth during breakfast time, chairs that are no longer needed are put together, it is no better in the train station. A little peace and quiet in the morning and a quieter atmosphere at breakfast would have been appropriate.
The reception was manned by 2 young men, overwhelmed. When asked whether breakfast was included, the answer was yes, and when the bill was settled, EUR 20.00 per person / day was added.
2 double rooms for 2 nights in the hotel were requested and so requested. This was rejected on the grounds that no reservation was possible for 1 night! So requested via Booking.com and was approved. However, no choice of room and therefore not satisfactory.
For us, the hotel is more show than substance.
The staff deserves special mention; they are always courteous and friendly, regardless of their role.

The hotel is situated near the Hofgarten Park and within walking distance of downtown Bonn. The hotel is located near the River Rhine and from some of the rooms and the terrace there is an excellent view over the river. Garage parking is available at EUR 18/night. We noted that spaces were narrow, even for our medium sized car.

It is not a new hotel and the structure certainly has character, but this also shows in some of the details. The underground garage is in more levels, alas only rather narrow stairs are available – no elevator.

Our room was nice, quiet and clean, but had only a few electrical outlets. My wife noted that even though a hairdryer was available, there was no outlet inside (or right outside) our bathroom. The only mirror in our room was located in the bathroom, making it a bit tricky to actually make good use of the hairdryer.

Our package included an evening dinner in the restaurant, Ristorante Oliveto. It was a warm and beautiful evening, and we sat outside on the nice terrace. The food we got was okay without being great, and the restaurant also offered an extensive wine list with both local and international wines. Prices were slightly higher than usual, especially if you only wanted two single glasses of wines. At this restaurant a glass was defined as 0.1 liter, whereas several other restaurants define a glass as containing 0.2 liter.

We visited the restaurant on a busy evening where the staff had to service both hotels guests and a large party in another building. This may have influenced the level of service and wait time, which was definitely not up to our expectations.

Breakfast was included in our rate and was good without being great.

Dear Guest, thank you for your review and detailed feedback on your stay. We are sorry to hear, that we could not convince you in all points and did not meet your expectations, especially at breakfast and dinner. Our wine prices are based on the local market. You are right that it is not a new hotel, but we try to combine tradition with modern elements. We are glad to provide our guests with a secure parking space in such a zentral location, even though it unfortunately has no elevator and the parking spaces are a bit narrow.
