We went on a trip to the Christmas Markets of Bonn, Koblenz and Rudesheim and stayed at this Hotel for three nights. Located close to the Rhein and local Christmas market it is a very nice Hotel with all modern conveniences. The Reception is big with a big public area for waiting or relaxing in, which doubles up as a dining area on Sunday nights. You can purchase snacks and drinks at this location fir consumption in your room. It has a good restaurant in the basement which provides everything you could want for breakfasts. Lifts go to all floors. In the bedroom one free bottle of drinking water is provided as well as tea and coffee making facilities. It was advertised as having a fridge but our room did not. As there were only creamer powder and herbal infusions we were glad to have taken one own English tea bags and fresh milk (which we stored outside on a window ledge as the weather was cold enough) The room was clean, comfortable and modern with a safe and with lovely duvet and pillows. The bathroom was excellent and towels were changed daily. All staff were friendly and helpful and I would highly recommend this Hotel.

As a couple (66 and 61 years young) we spontaneously spent the weekend 02.08.-04.08.2024 in the Dorint-Hotel in Bonn (Berliner Freiheit 2). The hotel is located directly on the Rhine and Bonn city centre is within walking distance.
We had a comfort room with a view of the Rhine and the courtyard. The room, as well as the bathroom with walk-in shower, were spacious and had everything you need (adequate TV, safe and a small fridge (former mini-bar).
Staff at reception were super friendly and check-in and check-out worked quickly. The breakfast buffet was very rich.
We particularly liked the seemingly redesigned courtyard/outdoor lounge area. This invited to dinner, which we also did on Saturday after a city stroll. We were very surprised by the newly designed menu according to the waitress. In addition to schnitzel, burgers and co., there were also “Bapas” (Bönnean tapas). We once took the backhendl with potato salad, the bread skewers and the 5er tapas (2 tandoori chicken skewers, sweet potato fries, beetroot salad, Mediterranean vegetables and another salad). The “five-bapas” were served nicely in small white bowls on a wooden board. Finally, we treated ourselves to a dessert served in a wake-up glass. The “Bapas” tasted very good and were finally something other than veal cutlets, burgers or zander. And anyone who thinks everything must be very expensive in a hotel is wrong. We paid a total of €39 for the whole “bapas” and we were both fed up. But also the other dishes on the menu or drinks (e.g. 0,3 Kölsch 3,50 €) were priced fine. The waiters in the evening were super nice and tried to serve everything promptly and quickly, despite the packed seats. All in all, this was a very nice and “tasty” evening finish with a view of the Rhine.
Should we be in Bonn again, we will definitely go there again dining, even if we do not stay directly at the hotel (you can also eat there as a non-hotel guest).

We have stayed at Hilton Bonn as a family for a city trip for three nights in May. The rooms were spacious but a little bit ageing. The living room as well as the bathrooms are not as modern as comparable hotels but ok.
Despite our diamond status, we got rooms with highway view (towards B56/Kennedy bridge). The windows were soundproof - so no issue when windows are closed, but sleeping with open windows is no option with this street right in front of your window. To be fair: We have not asked for other rooms as we have already unpacked our suitcases and it was not such an issue but in regards to service for status customers a more favorable allocation of rooms would have been great.
Anything else was brilliant: The location of the hotel is perfect with only short walks to the Rhein (and its ship departure points), to the City and also to the other side of the Rhein. The breakfast was really convincing with a lot of choice and a kids corner. Unfortunately there was only a buffet during our stay at "The Grill" restaurant, but the buffet was really nice. The pool area was also very good and most of the time, there were no other guests in the pool/fitness area. Last but not least, the staff was very kind - at the reception as well as in the restaurants. Thanks for a nice stay in Bonn!

Hotel is expensive but fails to live to the expectations. Interiors are dated and there is a ubiquitous smell of chemicals everywhere. Air conditioning is present, but runs at deafening volumes even at low speeds. Bathroom is cramped and requires maintenance, e.g. shower is jumping from the holder when water is turned on.
There are reasonable fitness facilities and even a swimming pool and location right next to the Rhine and opera is great. But at the same time, there are party cruises on the river which do fireworks till midnight, making it hard to sleep.
Parking is expensive, but hardly suitable for large cars. Entrance is narrow, and there is a handful of spaces wide enough for something larger than a Golf, but those are usually taken by a Golf.

We spent one night in this hotel, which is easy to reach by public transport or by walking from the Bonn central station, and which is located in a great spot next to the river. Being HHonors Gold member, we were given a complimentary room upgrade to a nice room on the third floor with a very nice river view. The view would have been even better if the windows and windowsills would be cleaned better from the outside (instead of now being covered by spider webs and bird droppings).
The room itself was very spacious and well appointed, although the desk in the room was not as clean as it should have been. That was quickly rectified though by housekeeping. The bathroom was a bit dated and could do with some renovation / modernization. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet, so we had a good sleep.
The breakfast buffet was pretty nice with a good selection of hot and cold foods and drinks, including some local specialties. We also appreciated the "healthy corner". It was nice being able to sit outside on the terrace enjoying the breakfast.
If we can get a room for a reasonable room, we may consider staying here again when next time in Bonn, and hopefully then the cleaning of the hotel will be immaculate again.

Sorry to say that we felt the stay at Dorint Hotel Bonn was a rip-off and a flop. Allegedly, the hotel is a four star hotel but it certainly doesn't feel like one. Some good things first: One receptionist was exceptionally friendly and arranged for a room switch after we realised the beds were single beds (in a double room). The room was clean. (As for food, can't say, didn't dine nor take breakfast). Handicaps: the room was tiny. The spa area, which was the reason why we booked at Dorint, is crammed into the basement, with its tsmall swimming pool, in a low-ceilinged impersonal room, no view. There are two scrubby little saunas, with barely any room left to move or to rest afterwards. Yes, there were some deckchairs, but very few, and they were taken. Also, you wouldn't have had any privacy resting on those as people have to apss you from all sides to use the shower and to enter the sauna. Everything feels improvised, like "Let me see, what's the requirements for four stars again? Oh yes, saunas and a swimming pool. Well, we still have a small basement, let's just use that one". Like the suanas, the gym is tiny, rustic and smelly, and you have to cross it when you enter the spa area; it's actually right next to it. All in all, no joy. We'll never go again.

Booked because of the central location in Bonn and the wellness area. The room was clean and had (still) Rhine view. Very quiet out back. In a few minutes walk you are in the city center. The blankets for my taste are a bit thick, but everyone is different.
Now the but: The timetable advertised on the homepage for the conversion of the pool etc. was not adhered to. That was actually the main reason for booking. On demand, however, no accommodating, not even no excuse, despite communication with the hotel staff. More along the lines of: That's just the way it is now and bad luck. Evening still the advertised beverage vending machine searched and not found. On request from the staff, it was said that this currently does not exist and I could help myself at the bar for free. The "free" bottle of water was then calculated without a corresponding receipt being signed. Zudem: Own parking garage and charge the hotel guests the full price (28 €/night), I find too much.
Too bad, things went wrong here!

What a pleasure! I love being pleasantly surprised. The hotel is clean and upscale right next to the Rhine. The reception desk is friendly and helpful. They were patient while I stumbled over my newly learned German. However they speak English as well. We had a double bed (with an extra bed for my daughter). It’s spacious enough for three. They have a wonderful hot shower with tons of water pressure. The maid service has been wonderful, the garage provides ample parking but be careful if you have a wide car or you will likely hit the sides as you enter or leave the garage. (Like most of the hotels in Germany- they are designed for small cars) The location is terrific, 10 min walk to the Zentrum. We feel so lucky to have made an excellent hotel decision. If we come back to Bonn, we are staying here!

- very good professional service - attentive and very friendly service staff - own underground car park at the hotel - very good breakfast - very good location (city center can be reached on foot in a few minutes) - located directly on the Rhine - spacious air-conditioned room Criticism: The internal bathroom lacks(?) automatic ventilation, street noise when the window is open (but you have to accept that given the city center location), the selection of tea and coffee for self-preparation in the room could be more extensive

Although the hotel doesn’t have an Executive Lounge, it has become one of my favorite Hiltons in Germany. The mostly young staff is always willing to assist and hospitality is on a high level. The hotel has an e-mail address and they quickly responded when I had questions or requests, very accommodating.
There is easy underground parking with direct access to the hotel. Yes, it is expensive, but that is in every city for covered parking. If you book direct on the Hilton website, you can have a discount if you use ‘upgrade my stay’ and confirm the link for parking.
There is recognition for Diamond members, usually to a Deluxe room on the highest and 4th floor. The room has a large balcony with river view and, which I find fantastic, a Nespresso coffee machine, so no instant coffees here. Some of the rooms are a little outdated, but I don’t mind at all. As a Lifetime Diamond now, I had many many stays and noticed several times that upgraded hotels slightly fall in service, in sharp contrast to their behavior before renovation. So, I prefer service and attention above a (recently) modernized room, as long rooms are clean and have some extra amenities.
During the summer of 2020, due to Covid, when they had closed this 4th floor, I had upgrades to a Suite and a Junior Suite. Every time I visited this hotel, there was always a note and some presents from the management to welcome me, highly appreciated. Also in 2020, which I was not aware, a note to thank me for my 10th stay. These are the details that makes a hotel from good to excellent.
The breakfast is fresh and extensive. When I am there, I always have dinner in the restaurant, every time delicious and they have not only the menu, but also specials. For me, the latter shows the skills and creativity of the kitchen brigade. In summer they also have a BBQ on Fridays or Saturdays, with buffet, for a fixed price, if Covid rules allows of course, sure to be recommended. Restaurant staff is friendly and accurate.
There is an indoor pool, during Covid with time slots. Furthermore is the city center on walking distance.
