The Living Hotel Kanzler stands out for its stylish and historic charm, blending a sense of nostalgia with modern amenities. Guests have lauded its central location, which offers both convenience and tranquility, and the spacious, clean rooms. The hotel's extensive breakfast options and pet-friendly approach receive positive remarks, though there's a call for a broader beverage selection.
While opinions on value vary, with some concerns over fees, many acknowledge the inclusive amenities. The welcoming staff also earn acclaim for their professionalism and helpfulness. However, travelers suggest more attentive maintenance, especially for longer stays.

I had a very pleasant stay at your hotel. The staff is super nice and mostly very accommodating, which has made the stay especially pleasant. They were often helpful and friendly, which is really appreciated.
Rooms are clean and well maintained. However, I would have one comment: The sinks could be cleaned more thoroughly as they are extremely yellow and cracked.
Breakfast is excellent and leaves nothing to be desired. The choice is varied and the quality of the food is very good. I particularly liked the freshly prepared scrambled eggs and the selection of fresh fruit. The possibility to choose different coffee specialties was also a plus.
Another improvement suggestion would be that if desired, instead of the standard 2 water and 2 beers in the room, you could also get 4 water bottles. This would be especially helpful for guests who do not drink beer.
The location of the hotel is also very convenient, with easy access to public transport and close to major attractions. This made it easy to explore the city.
The hotel complex itself is also very attractively designed. The gym is well equipped and has everything you need for an effective workout.

The rooms are good and big enough. They are also well insulated from the main road, so you can hardly hear any noise. The breakfast is very good. All the staff were very nice.
The hotel is close to the train station and you can walk into the city center. There are a few sights nearby.
The fitness room is well equipped.
We traveled with a dog and there were dog bowls and a blanket and 2 treats from the hotel for the dog, which was really nice. The dog was also allowed to come to the breakfast room, which was very positive.
We would be happy to come back anytime and can only recommend the hotel.

Nice hotel in a good location. For me, as a large person, the long, cozy bed was a pleasing change from other hotels. At breakfast there was a large selection with fresh fruit.
The car park was accessible free of charge and equipped with some electric charging points. At the time of my stay, two charging stations were still free to use. An additional bonus:)
A visit to the hotel restaurant St. Ribs is also a must. Very good meat, super prepared with delicious side dishes. And for dessert, a spaghetti ice cream with various toppings to choose from, prepared at the table. It was divine.
All in all it was a nice stay.

My dog and I came as surprise guests for my father's birthday. It was really great. The walls were also pretty soundproof, which is very important to me because I'm sensitive to noise and it also helped my dog to relax very quickly. The staff were very friendly, the room was large, clean and comfortable. The proximity to the Rhine was ideal for walking (or taking a walk). Despite the busy road right next to it, you hardly notice it in the hotel. The room was very bright thanks to the large windows, but the curtains were also such that the room could be darkened very well, which is also very important to me.
The connection to the city center by bus and train is also very good and you can get there in a few minutes.
The service package for our dog, consisting of 2 bowls, two chew sticks and a dog cushion, was also great. We felt very comfortable and would love to come back soon!

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights when visiting a family member who lives in Bonn.
We stayed in a deluxe apartment.
Everything was very clean.
The room was a great size. It had a kitchenette with a hob, fridge, microwave and dishwasher. No oven. There were adequate cooking utensils in the drawers. We did not cook in the room but you could prepare simple meals without difficulty.
Bed was comfortable.
Our room overlooked the Main Street but soundproofing was excellent.
The hotel is a 2 min walk from an underground station. You can reach the centre of Bonn in 5 mins.
You can walk to the Rhine in 3 mins and then walk along the river. All very beautiful.
We had breakfast included in our price. It was very adequate. We seemed to eat at busy times and the breakfast area was a bit crowded but the staff were very good at replacing the various items and clearing plates from tables was done efficiently.
We ate our evening meals in the city There are many restaurants to choose from.
Reception staff greeted us cordially and helped with any questions.
The gym is adequate with all machines working.
Bicycles were not available to hire from the hotel.
We will return to Bonn and will return to this hotel.

It is already the second time that I stayed in the Living Hotel Kanzler in Bonn and in both cases I enjoyed it. I love walking and this hotel has an excellent location from which everything is so close: be it a historic center, bus/train station, a promenade along the river, my business partner locations... I also appreciate that each room has a fridge, a kettle, a coffee-maker. Or that there is also a table that I can use when I need to work. I do not need to say that rooms are spacious and clean and that the hotel personnel is very friendly and supportive.

Highly unpleasant experience mainly because of a unfriendly, disrespectful and condescending service. You get the impression that this is a place where the management only cares about making as much money out of their customers as fast as possible. There is zero investment in the hotel. I have never seen such disgustingly stained carpets and smelly old rooms. We had to go like 10 times to the reception as our door lock was not working. Be prepared to receive highly abused calls from the reception if you happen to leave your rooms 10 minutes late at check out.
I feel ashamed being German considering what foreign visitors will think of German hospitality after staying in this place.

Response from Julia Lonkowski, Guest Services / Front Office at Living Hotel Kanzler
Responded Mar 21, 2024
Dear Julia, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry, that your stay was not to your satisfaction. We are in the process of replacing our carpets floor by floor. In addition we are deep cleaning our carpets regularly. Unfortunately some stains can´t be removed even by deep cleaning. Our keycards are unfortunately very sensitive to mobile phones and magnets and are demagnetized easily. If you are experiencing continued problems with your keycard you can always leave the card the the front office when you leave our house. We offer late Check Out for € 15,- per starting hour, which is openly communicated. If you are 15 minutes late that is no issue. In your case we granted you already a excemption of 30 minutes, that you overstayed for another 10 minutes which triggered the unfortunate discussion with our manager. Describing the call as "highly abusive" is a bit of a overstatement as he just descibed to you that the late Check Out Fee will apply after 40 minutes beyond the regular Check Out Time. We wish you the best for the future. Sincerely, Julia Lonkowski Ass. Front Office Manager

The Kanzler has everything you would expect: free WiFi, 4 free drinks and capsule coffee or body lotion: great! The density of restaurants is not ideal but the subway is practically on the doorstep - about 200 m away. Overall, I can recommend the hotel

I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel during a business trip and I am absolutely satisfied! The rooms are not only spacious and spacious, but also in excellent condition. Everything is clean, modern and well thought out, so you immediately feel comfortable.
I was particularly impressed by the perfect combination of comfort and functionality – ideal for business travellers! The workstation in the room was well equipped, and the Wi-Fi was stable and fast, which made the job a lot easier.
The location of the hotel is great: Central but still quiet, so you can get to meetings as well as local restaurants or sights quickly.
The staff were friendly, professional and helpful throughout – whether it was questions about the surroundings or wishes for the stay. I can highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for quality accommodation for business trips. I will definitely come back!

I had a Super bad experience!
There is nothing nice to say about that horrible place! There was a very bad smell both in the corridor and the room! My room was on underground floor and there was no logic in numbering the floors! I was pregnant and I had to stay underground!!!!!
The room door was stuck for more than 3 times during my 3 night stay!
Someone else’s individual booking cancellation fee was put on other individual’s room, which is insane!!!! And the face of the person on reception was so ignorant that I cannot explain!
The hotel’s location is quite bad, as you have to spend a lot of time to get to the center!
Avoid this place!
