Great location by the River Rhein & various restaurants. Within the Aldstadt area so convenient for tourist sites & Koln Dom (5 minutes walk away) We arrived after 14.00 so NO reception staff - key is left in a code box at the side. This also means no explanation of services etc - so email hotel before if you have specific requests you want answered. Stairs or lift to rooms. 4 rooms on each floor. Room was large & comfortable. Had flat screen TV, kettle, coffee maker. Bottled water & toiletries provided. We chose a river view room (would recommend else view of buildings) Beds comfortable with large pillows & duvet. Breakfast is served in the restaurant downstairs. Also, an Italian restaurant in the evening. Good selection at breakfast - mostly continental choice, but you can have eggs served in various ways. Downside - main stairs to rooms have marble steps & very noisy when people up & down, all the rooms are close to the stairs. Also, sound from other rooms is evident. Bathroom very small - literally your knees nearly touch the wall when sat on the toilet & large step up into the small shower

OK room, nice with the fan, although it wasn’t that efficient. Near the station - if you know where you are going! Check-in at night worked well, although it would be a help to know where the room was located.

Reading some positive reviews, we decided to stay for 3 days in this hotel in August 2023. The hotel room is an adequate size even for 3, and the view and location are definitely nice. Here end the positives. Now the negatives: 1. THERE IS NO AIR CONDITIONING and the sun shines on the river view rooms since morning, so it is very very very hot in the room already from the early morning hours. Even during the night we were dying of heat and the only resource to ridiculously relieve such heat was a totally inadequate fan. Paradoxically, the temperature outside (around 30 degrees) was lower than inside. 2. There is not even a refrigerator in the rooms, so if you want to relieve the heat with some water you have to drink it at room temperature, so as if it were broth. 3. If you are traveling with heavy luggage consider that the elevator does not go to the room floors, but to the middle landing of the stairs, so you still have to walk down a ramp. In conclusion: if you decide to stay in this hotel (whose location is definitely enviable) do so only in the less hot months, otherwise it will be like living in a sauna.

Late check in was easy. Communication was good. Room was clean. Great location, as it was central and only 10 minute walk to station. Plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. This is an old hotel that could do with modernisation but it was still ok. The bathroom and shower was small.

Nice view, but renovation poorly with cheap materials. Poorly isolated. Loud from the trains. Old stores, don't cover the window. Room size o.k., but not cosy at all. Interest connection poor. Very small, dark, not renovated bathroom. Very loud, outside and inside the hotel. And the staff gets minus points! Also due to Covid rules

Our room did have a river view and you could see all the activity along the river walkway. A great place to walk along the river or enjoy the outdoor restaurants that also overlook the river view. Easy walk to the Cathedral. Rooms were quaint, clean and the beds and pillows were so comfy. The staff was friendly and helpful. The noise level was minimal which allowed a good sleep. We stayed on a Sunday night so I am not sure what it would be like on the weekend. Bit once we closed the windows the outside noise was gone. I would recommend this little hotel in Koln.

Not bad although a lot depends on whether you get a river view room or, like me, a view of a grotty back street. The room was OK but the floor needs replacing. The hotel is quite small and pokey but handy for the station, opera and cathedral. Breakfast was good and staff were friendly. I wouldn’t stay here again but it was OK for a night stop.

Apart from the hotel having great location, clean, good price, the staff are so helpful. For my last visit I made a mistake with my booking and ended up without a room at 9pm but the staff found me a room for the night and helped me find an alternative hotel for the second night as they were full. Great job and thanks

The room was very large, and was cleaned and tidied up daily. Beds were comfortable, and the bathroom was cleaned daily as well. Not all the rooms look onto the Rhine, and the area can get noisy on some nights since it is a few minutes from the main train station and on the Rhine pathway. The building is a bit old but overall stay is very good.

This hotel's biggest selling point is its central location. Walking distance to the Cathedral, Hauptbahnhof and main shopping area. The hotel itself is basic and dated. We stayed here 4 years ago and not a lot has changed since. Bathroom tiny and lift was out of order however fresh clean bed linen and standard 3* boiled-hard hotel towels. We didn't have breakfast. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. This hotel is good value for city centre Cologne.
