The Batavia Hotel deserves the high ranking here in TripAdvisor. The location is just about perfect, with good access to rail, bus and roads. Walking-distance from many restaurants & shops, although you're a good 20-30 minute walk from the river and the Gehry building. The rooms are a bit dormatory-like, with a 2nd door separating the bedroom from the entrance/bathroom....

I go to Dus most weeks for a few days as an independent contractor. Been working this way since the beginning of the year and have stayed in approx 11-15 different hotels in the city. Batavia is the one that offers the best value overall. Its bang in the centre, excellent breakfast which is included in the price. Nice clean...

Hotel Batalvia provides excellent value. Rooms clean, bed firm, and a complete breakfast (eggs, toast, yogurt, cereal, juice, rolls, meat, cheese) all for about $100/night, double occupancy. Hotel exterior, stairway and elevator are very dated, but don't be dissuaded by this. Close to airport. Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Hotel Batavia's value can't be beat.

I was really delighted with my stay at this hotel. Everything was so incredibly clean and comfortable and the staff were always friendly and helpful. It was quiet and also very near to the Konigsalle and other interesting parts of town and was great value for money. My boss stayed in the Hilton and had to pay for his internet...

We stayed in the Batavia Hotel for three nights in January 2008. Don't be put off by the antiquated lift - the rooms are clean, reasonably large, and modern, with cable TV and a mini bar (certainly in ours) A good large bathroom, with a powerful, moveable shower finished the room off. Free internet is provided in the Hotel lobby....

Me and my girlfriend stayed in Batavia Hotel in the begining of july. Location is perfect, just under 10 min. from hauptbahnhof and approx. 15 min to altstadt by foot. Very friendly staff and nice breakfast. Our room was big and the toilet modern and practical. No sounds from the street if the windows were closed and extra pillows in...

We stayed at the Batavia for three nights mainly we wanted a base as we were going to see Geneysis at the LTU Arena. All the staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and tidy and the minibar (soft drinks) was not unreasonably priced. The breakfast was good with much variety for such a...

We stayed at Batavia for 2 nights (23rd-25th Feb). We used the airpot shuttle bus to get to Dusseldorf (11euro) and this dropped us off just by the main station. It took around 10 minutes to walk to Batavia and we had a very fast check in. The room that we had was on the 6th floor right above the...

Hotel Batavia was one of the last hotels I stayed at the tail end of my last European trip. The map that was lead me to the hotel was good and the hotel was easy to find just off the main street. The only thing is that if you have heavy luggage, the walk is pretty tough if you are...

I really do wonder sometimes what people who write comments on hotels think they are getting from a 3* city hotel. This is a PERFECTLY ADEQUATE city 3* hotel. It is extremely clean and the rooms are a decent size with the bathroom a separate room off the entrance. Despite what it says on several internet sites for hotel bookings...
