We visited this hotel just before christmas. The location of the hotel is walking distance away from the shops and christmas markets. Staff is very friendly. Our room was rather basic, but the value for money is excellent!
There is nothing stand out from this hotel. However it’s functional, there are plenty of irons and it’s clean. It’s also quite close to the train station and it’s central location is useful. It has what you need if you are just looking for a central place to sleep
If you visit the city by train, and wish to avoid large, anonymous hotels, this might be an idea. The hotel is about 10m walk from the station, and is relatively quiet. Rooms are individually decorated and yes, every room has plenty of electric sockets and, yes!, decent reading…
Friendly ambiance, the receptionist waited for us till 11:15 pm for our check in, although the hotel rule for last check-ins are at 11 pm. We were annoyed by the conjoined 2 beds as there was remaining void space when joining the beds. But that could have only been the design…
This is a no-frills hotel close to the train station in Essen centre. Staff were pleasant and efficient and the breakfast was very good. Some quirky & interesting decor - definitely gave it a hostelly vibe.
"Ask for a quiet room at the back side of the hotel. Never mind the view..."
"The room sizes vary a lot & there are newer/refurbished rooms so its worth asking for newer/bigger room when booking."
"go for the rooms on the left side when enter the lobby"
"Our upper floor room was quiet"
"The rooms facing the back of the hotel are quieter than those on the main road"
