I gave this property ‚unfortunately‘ another chance as a lot of hotels still are closed. I would have expected that they provide superior service to get back into business but was disappointed. The items listed in the previous review are still not improved but also the internet was not working this time. I paid for premium internet but there was no difference between the paid and unpaid version. When I called the front desk for help I got a snotty unhelpful reply that I should have paid extra from the start. They did not have technical Know-how and simply said that the 10MB is the best one can get in this part of Europe? I can not recommend this property to anyone that has to do some work as the quality of internet is way below any acceptable level.
Pre-arrival: The hotel has contacted me prior to arrival to make the necessary arrangements implying this is a top notch property. Check-in: Process was smooth although the electronic key promoted on the app did not work and the pre-checkin information had to be repeated. Room: The rooms are old and lack a good coffee machine. Laundry: The laundry service did not deliver as requested. The did not follow the instructions from the card and I had to follow up with them to get it redone. Restaurant: The local restaurant looks good on the picture but reality is different. We had a reservation but when we arrived it was a total mess and had no space so we had to wait for the staff to clear a table. The menu selection was very limited and the wine list was even shorter. Breakfast: I went to the lobby for a cappuccino in the morning and got a lousy coffee that had no resemblance with a cappuccino. …
I stayed an extended weekend on December 2019. My stay was excellent. My room was a members club deluxe room at the 6th floor. The free lounge room had almost everything for free from breakfast to light dinner and snacks. The service was outstanding. Very nice room and really very good value for money! Absolutely recommended!!
It’s actually a really nice hotel, I stayed on the sixth floor in a large modern and comfortable room. There was a business lounge to have a beer and do some work. What let this hotel down was the restaurant was closed because there was a concert at the Philharmonia. It was 8pm on a Monday evening with very heavy rain it wasn’t a great evening to go out. The bar menu was pitiful, schnitzel, a vegetarian option and beef. The beer I wanted was unavailable and the food poor. It is completely unacceptable for a hotel charging €300+ to have no restaurant open. There was no warning of this when we booked. I emailed the hotel but there was no response. I don’t think they care.
The hotel is in a nice location nearby Philharmonie hall, a park and several nice restaurants. The check-in was professional and quick. The manager on duty Mr. Kanaan was very attentive and wanted to make sure everything goes well. The rooms are comfortable but outdated. The bathroom seems to be recently renovated. Service wise it does really reflect Sheraton standards, the lower points goes to the dated deco in the reception area and room. The check-out was also quick and efficient. On site parking was 15 euros, but if you park 200m away in the Philharmonie public parking, it is only 5 euros per day during the weekends. It was very enjoyable and comfortable stay - we enjoyed the restaurants beside the hotel very much.
