Erfurt has a surprisingly nice Altstadt, and it's well worth a visit. Zumnorde is a good place to stay, the room was nice, the location central, and it has a good restaurant attached to the hotel. It is an old building and a bit of a maze, but there seem to be plenty of staff to help you if you...

The staff at this hotel were really helpful on check-in. Our room was a good size, though we were somewhat disconcerted by the floor shaking any time either of us walked around, trams went past or peolle upstairs did anything. The room was a greag size and well decorated. Note there was no in-room safe for those who prefer this...

I've stayed here about eight times in the past eight years. I really like the hotel and its staff. All are very professional and helpful. Rooms are nice and I even have a special favorite and I am always happy when I can get this room on return trips to the wonderful old city of Erfurt. Breakfast is more than...

This hotel is very well situated. The rooms are very clean and my single room was bigger than some double rooms I have stayed in. My only complaint is that there were no English language TV Channels. There was a good choice of food at breakfast although there was not much change from day to day.

The receptionists are very customer-oriented, the rooms, restaurant and location close to the main station are well suited for short business traveling. Me and my colleague asked for a special room or quiet place with electricity plugs where we can do some computer work together, unfortunately there are only large conference rooms for fees. Also the staff at breakfast could...

what you want and which room you have. Just for disclosure I am from the City of Erfurt and have lived there over 20 years until around 2001. This Hotel is among the most expensive in Erfurt but the location justifies that. The excellent attached restaurant is also a plus. Breakfast in typical German fashion is great. The Sauna under...

I have travelled extensively in Noth America, Europe and Africa, staying in a wide range of accommodations, including those without basic amenities such as electricity. I consider myself well-acquainted with hotels, therefore, and although the Zumnorde Erfurt has a lovely setting, I would not recommend it to a dog! The staff are ambitiously rude, the room (a supposed ferienwohnung) lacks...

Hotel Zumnorde is so well reviewed (for its ideal location, within walking distance of the major sights, as well as its cozy atmosphere) that it seems superfluous to heap on more compliments, but I'll go ahead and do so, because of the excellent service, which I think is second to none. I emphasize this point because we walked in to...

Erfurt is probably one of the most underrated medieval beauties among the German cities. Once a town of rich merchants, its core had largely been abandoned during the socialist post-war period and remained intact as a historical ensemble. Beautifully restored over the past two decades it is now a spectacular attraction, full of life, and with nice restaurants abound. Hotel...
