We booked this hotel on late booking.com when our villa had lots of issues & we left it.
When we got to the hotel we were plesently surprised. It was a beutiful building with loads of character. Only about 15 rooms but run professionally by a Spanish Family. They even spoke english! The rooms are tastefully decorated & imaculately clean with en suite modern bathrooms. If you can get one of the front rooms with a balcany.

The Azalea Playa is a wonderful building with excellent furnishings, great gardens & pool but we had a few reservations. We think the management were a father and son team. The son helped as much as he could with directions to a local bar (the Euro football was on during our stay and that is quite obviously a must…… ;) …………….sigh……….) and he was friendly. The Spanish bar we went to was friendly too – and 50% cheaper than the ‘Irish’ one a few doors along ;) At Azalea Playa, the father didn’t help as we struggled in with our cases nor did we get any help leaving. We weren’t told our breakfast options until a bit too late the morning we were leaving. Our room was super however one of the bedside lamps didn’t work, nor did one of the terrace lights. Minor? Well yes but the rates aren’t cheap, and they haven’t got hundreds of rooms and it doesn’t take much to check. The furnishings were so magnificent we did wonder if some folk might be afraid to touch things! The location is good in the sense that it’s an easy walk from possibly the best beach we’ve seen outside the Caribbean. But. The road is busy and noisy – although parking wasn’t a problem. But coming back to the road, it’s important you get the directions right – we realised too late we should have approached from the South. If approaching from the North, it’s still possible and better to approach as much as possible from the South. The hotel is at Barrosa. We didn’t realise that until too late. So….. great building, good location, immense potential; management needs a bit of thought.

Pretty uncomfortable hotel to spend a few days on the beach. The rooms lack a minibar, there is no cafeteria and you can not have a coffee or parking. The area is very busy so it is very difficult to park and there is a lot of noise. Super uncomfortable pillows. I had to sleep 7 nights with a cushion. We're not coming back.

We stayed here for two nights with another couple, we were expecting a room with a seperate bedroom and a bed settee as the photos were a bit misleading. What we actually got was one room with a double bed and a sofa bed at the other end , it was ok for us as we were all relatives and didn't mind playing footsie with each other .Brought to mind the grandparents from Charlie and the Chocolate factory(all in the same bed),we did get a toilet/shower room and a wall mounted tv and a wardrobe!.For £200 a night we did expect a bit more space!

This hotel is like a big house with separate guest rooms. Our room was a bit tiny but beautiful and elegant. We stayed just one night so it was all we need, comfortable bed, air conditioning and even an actual fireplace for winter. There is a small pool and a nice cozy terrace with water dispenser available all day. We slept very well, actually overslept as no light enters the room when you close the shutters, we thought it was 6 in the morning but actually it was 11 🙈. The manager and his young daughter Raquel are charming and very helpful.

Really nice hotel close to the beach and restaurants. We arrived quite late and the owners could not have been nicer. The room was clean and tidy with a balcony and spacious bathroom so we could not have asked for more. Breakfast was simple but ample and the courtyard setting was very peaceful. We'll return if we are in the area.

Beautiful boutique hotel in a converted villa. The owner was very friendly and helpful and the room was beautiful - we even had our own spacious, private balcony.

The location is excellent - within walking distance of the beach, shops and restaurants.

Looking forward to our next visit!

Nowadays one of the best residences of this beach village is one hotel. You can live the experience to live in one village and one hotel close to the beach at same time. You will not had a great pool , or menus , or all included like in one resort. You have one room, you live your vacational time like one home owner in this hotel. If you do not like to have TV. Go fast to Novo Sancti Petri and takes this hotel close to the beach and the tourist downtown of this zone. They have not desk for reception you now. The rooms are new and the bed linens are nice to sleep. Room colors are aesthetics, not like that strong colors usually in green or salmon like in another poor places. This is not like this nowadays.
