The hotel is beautifully located right on the beach and the view from the lobby to the pool and sea is breathtaking. The facility is well maintained, looks modern and is very clean. The rooms are cleaned reliably and thoroughly, the staff is always very friendly, easygoing, warm and helpful. Most employees speak Spanish as well as English and German, which is why you can always communicate well. The food is good and you have a very large and varied selection of food and drinks. The only criticisms are that you have to pay extra for all drinks at dinner (it is not even water included, which was not apparent at Booking Referral!), the sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach are also charged (6€ per sunbed and per umbrella a day) and that the wifi did not work them or only barely worked them half our holiday. However, it has to be kept in mind that the Internet problems have been addressed quickly and resolved promptly by means of a new antenna.
The beach is really nice and extensive and also the way down the jetty is really nice. The beach bar Calma Beach in the immediate vicinity is an experience especially in the evenings and ensures a Spanish and good atmosphere on the beach. Very nice indeed.
I can really only recommend the hotel, could relax there really great and just enjoy pool, sea and sun. Stand now we will come back!:)

The food was very good, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the staff were very helpful. Dei Prices for drinks during meals, by the pool and at the bar are very fair. We could easily order additional down pillows because the standard pillows hadn't appealed to us as much. Light slippers, bathrobes and quite large shower towels were available in the room. Large beach towels for the loungers by the pool or on the beach could be used and exchanged on request every day. All in all we had absolutely nothing to complain about and enjoyed the week very much.

We stayed at the TUI BLUE Playa La Barrosa for 9 days.
Service was first class. It started at the first check-in. Instead of looking around, you could sit down and get a glass of champagne.
Check-out was also great: Where in other hotels there was only a doggyback due to early departures, we were able to have a nice breakfast.
Otherwise: Whether at breakfast or dinner, everyone was super quick.
Food: was consistently good. Due to the massive rush at 7 p.m. sharp, I was unlucky twice (the food wasn't quite ready)
Location: Great beach, miles long
Room: Absolutely OK
Atmosphere: No loud entertainment. Solid and also good (Latin Night, for example)
Still 2-3 suggestions for improvement
1. "The towel fetish": 2 beach towels per person, which are also issued with a deposit of 50 euros?
And only change between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m.? What are the reasons? On vacation last year I could get as many towels as I wanted. They weren't made of gold either (50 € deposit?)
2. Spread out meal times: Yes, it's also up to the guests, but if you don't start eating until 7 p.m., you'll have a good 1.5 hour rush hour. Why not start at 6 p.m.? In my opinion, that would also take the pressure off the service and kitchen.
3. Beach loungers were "reserved with a towel" At the pool, care was taken to ensure that guests (unfortunately again typically German) didn't reserve the loungers as early as 8 a.m. Why didn't they do the same on the beach? The first row was permanently occupied! We ourselves never "reserved" and didn't like the fact that sometimes there were no free beach loungers left (despite the fee) by 9:30 a.m.
By the way: fee? Why? See also our vacation in Crete last year: here the beach loungers were free

The hotel is beautifully situated right on the dunes with a wooden walkway to the beach. This is fine sand and very spacious with fantastically beautiful sunsets over the sea. We had a room with a side sea view. The room was well equipped and was cleaned properly, only showering in the bathtub was a bit awkward. Overall we were very satisfied with the facilities of the hotel and the room. We did not use the pool area, the loungers were very close together and the U-shaped design of the hotel meant that the space around the pool was very limited. The beach, on the other hand, offered plenty of places to lounge, even if you had to pay 12 euros per day for two loungers and a parasol. A small beach bar was available for drinks and the toilets were always tidy. Despite the very positive impressions, we still have to give our stay a maximum of three stars. The meals offered in the hotel are far from 4-star standard and were very monotonous. For breakfast there were more than 10 ready-made juices, but not a single freshly squeezed juice. The sausage and cheese on offer were packaged goods and "sweated" after a while. Only the raw ham was constantly replenished and was tasty. All egg dishes were served very oily. The evening meal was monotonous, the meat and fish tough and dry, the vegetables overcooked and mostly covered in a fatty sauce or swimming in oil. There was no avocado in the salad with avocado and no feta in the Greek salad. We tried it again and again for 5 days, but unfortunately not once did we eat well. Comments about the food from the Tui travel guide and the hotel management were also heard but not implemented. We therefore ate very well outside the hotel on the last few evenings, which of course was not actually planned with the half-board we had paid for. Our conclusion: book this hotel with breakfast at most.

The Hotel Playa La Barrosa is a well-kept and clean 4-star hotel. The rooms are large and even handicapped accessible, and the beds are very comfortable. The sandy beach in front of the hotel is very beautiful, wide and long. The sea is great, but mostly wavy, as there is usually a moderate to moderate wind. There is regular entertainment at and in the hotel pool (water aerobics, water polo, etc.). The loungers by the pool are a bit close together because there is relatively little space to lie down. The beach is better for those looking for peace and quiet. On the beach, parasols and loungers cost extra: 12 euros per day for an umbrella and two loungers. Unfortunately, the loungers are a bit uncomfortable: they cannot be set completely flat, i.e. your head is always raised or you have a hollow back when lying on your stomach; and if you are over 1.80 m tall, you are always somehow lying on the plastic frame - which I found pretty uncomfortable in the long run. The "Bali beds" by the pool (double beds with mattress) cost 30 euros per day. Fresh towels for the pool or the beach are only available between 10 and 12 o'clock. You can deal with that, but it's not 4-star service. They also make sure that you only get one towel per person - that's ridiculous in my opinion. If you want to sit outside for dinner, you have to stand in a line and wait until a table becomes free. Why don't they just put more tables outside?! The buffet is quite busy at peak times (both in the morning and in the evening); you have to queue here because the buffet area is relatively small. Why don't they make it bigger?! The selection and quality of the food is unfortunately only mediocre. Salmon for breakfast is only available once a week. Some dishes come from a can, e.g. the fruit salad or some of the olives, which is a shame. The recommendation here is very clear to only book bed and breakfast; There are several restaurants in the town of Chiclana, some of which serve very good food. The hotel's garage is extremely narrow. I got a scratch on my rental car here because the garage has more pillars than parking spaces and you often don't know how to park or where to drive - especially when another car is coming towards you (and I only had a Fiat 500). You enter and exit on the left. And of course, you have to pay extra to park in the garage. The majority of the hotel's guests are German, mostly over 40. The staff are all very friendly, most of them also speak German. All in all, the hotel is a nice 4-star hotel, but there is a lot of room for improvement in some areas.

Spectacular place. The whole hotel very bright with amazing rooms adapted with the latest whims. We occasionally get away and this is a very comfortable hotel. The small light in every corner of the bed is greatly appreciated and is the first time I see it in a hotel. Very comfortable beds. All very quiet and very clean and very new. It only lacks a few minimal details to be the same glory as a clock in the heated pool to know when you have to get out of there before you are caught on notice. Our stay there was quite a success

When choosing a hotel for a vacation, I always read reviews from tourists who have already been there. Different people have different opinions, it is impossible to please everyone, but the reviews about Hipotel Playa la Barrosa (Tui Blue Playa la Barrosa) were surprisingly only positive! I admit, at first I found it suspicious. All the guests note the cleanliness of the rooms, the friendliness of the staff and the delicious food. A large number of repeat guests who have been coming here for years.
After 10 days spent in this wonderful place, I join these enthusiastic opinions about Hipotel Playa la Barrosa hotel.
The online check-in option provided by the hotel is very convenient. We used it before the flight. It reduces the check-in time upon arrival. So great that the hotel keeps up with the times!
If you need a quiet, peaceful holiday without wild screams and deafening music during the day, this is the place!
The room is a great size, the furniture is in good condition. The bathroom is spacious with two sinks, a good shower area. The hotel provides liquid soap, hand cream, shampoo and gel. Two things surprised me in the bathroom - an infrared lamp in the ceiling and a toilet that is too high (if you are short, your feet may not reach the floor when you sit on it) 😁
I would like to note the convenient time for breakfasts and dinners. Perhaps the best schedule I have ever had in the hotels. Usually breakfasts end at 10 and here they are until 11! Super convenient!
Sometimes we dined at the restaurant near the pool, but we preferred to do it outside. There are many nice restaurants within walking distance for every taste!
Thanks to the smart policy of the hotel management, we never had problems with sun loungers, even during the high tourist season.
The ocean was surprisingly warm and we enjoyed swimming in it. The hotel is surrounded by juniper bushes and pine trees, you can imagine what wonderful aromatherapy there is! Your lungs will thank you! We slept with an open balcony under the whisper of the waves. Very comfortable mattresses, only good dreams!
Thank you for the perfect holiday !

Definitely a great hotel with great staff that makes you feel at home. An unforgettable experience. LUXURY, COMFORT, CLEANLINESS, with first class facilities, gym, wonderful spa, unbeatable location, from the room you listen to the waves of the sea, without leaving behind the quality of the food both breakfast and dinner and top it off with a cast of artists who enliven every night. Relaxation and fun flow that mixes with luxury.

Everything turned out great. Thanks to all the staff for the treatment received. Super Professionals. They changed our room because they had given us an adapted room and the sink was too low for my husband's lower back problems as soon as they could. All the staff in the dining room, poolside cafeteria, reception and room cleaning made our stay very pleasant.

A beautiful hotel situated directly on the beach. The rooms are large with a good size balcony ours had pool & ocean views. One of those hotel's biggest assets is it's staff. Every one of them we met were polite, cheerful & happy to help. This is an adults only hotel so it was easy to relax by the pool without any noise & the same can be said for the rooms. A great breakfast and dinner buffet offering a huge choice of food which was beautifully presented each day. I'd definitely book the half board option again if you plan to stay local as there doesn't appear to be too many restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. There is a supermarket close by & the room has a kettle which is a nice touch for a Spanish hotel. A great stay & I would hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Hi,
I did see a Tui tour desk opposite the check in reception. Whether you can book through them or not, I am not sure.
If you leave the hotel there is a shopping complex about 5 minutes walk there are tour companies in there who might be able to sort your tours out.
Sorry I did not use any of them as I rented a car which I found easier.
There are more places to choose from in the Chiclana de la Frontera area.
