On paper, this seems like a great place. Duplex Apartment, 7 pools, spa. However, in reality, it doesn't quite live up to expectations. Firstly the location, it really is quite secluded and off the main road. There is little around and walking anywhere of interest isn't really an option. After checking in at the main reception, our apartment was a further 5 minute drive away. This wouldn't be a problem, unless you are experiencing issues. In which case, it becomes a bit of a frustrating endeavour. The apartment itself was lovely... 10 years ago. It seems little has been done to maintain it, more that it's barely liveable so that it can be rented out. The air conditioning would only work for 2 hours, and even on the coldest setting was barely effective. The beds were about as uncomfortable as one could imagine. Sleeping on the couch was more comfortable. our front door seemed to have a particularly difficult lock to open it. Whether this was intentional or a faulty key, we were never actually shown or explained this, even when requesting, so getting into the apartment was an activity in itself. After being given 2 different wifi passwords, both of which didn't work, we gave up all together. Bearing in mind the main reception didn't answer the phone so it was a journey back each time, this was rather infuriating. Additionally, we were told that the spa wasn't open, and were not told that our keys would only access certain pools. Do bear in mind that this is an enormous complex with 7 different blocks and 7 different pools. The one pool we eventually found was padlocked and our keys wouldn't work so we gave up. This may have just been bad luck with the apartment, the staff not being on their best form that day (and the next and the next), but this is not somewhere we would stay again. I would encourage anyone considering staying here to explore other properties in Estepona or ask lots of questions about the quality of the apartment and the fixtures/amenities. And be sure to stock up on plenty of food and water, as there's nowhere around for a while.…
We were two friends and two dogs , staying for a week When we arrived , we were upgraded to a beach apartement. Luxury , with two bedrim, two bathroom, livingroom and kitchen. And the best of all, a big deck , with the poolarea in the front. If you wanted the ocean.. walk « four» steps , thrue the gate..and take a swim The apartement have parking in the bacement, with elevator to the floors.. snd a garden area that you need keys and codes to enter Recomanded😊
Wow,first the plus Large apartment for the money with lots of balconies But very little useful extras in it No cleaning equipment not even washing up liquid or toilet cleaner Air conditioning turns off after two hours so you will boil in the night We had a ground floor apartment with ants free of charge in kitchen and all rooms by the end of week even under cooker hob No hangers in wardrobe, but great shower Numbers very hard to see all apartments look the same
see above. Location difficult as nearest supermarket 10 min drive away and lack of nearby restaurants. Tried 2 pool areas both good for young children.Would recommend for families but better for self catering.
I last stayed here several years ago and it’s very much the same. I didn’t have much choice this time as I went at the last minute and prices were reasonable as part of a BA flight and accommodation package. The first thing to note is these apartments aren’t disabled friendly and range from ground to third floor. There are steps to most of the apartments and there are no level access showers, just shower over bath. Parking is easy on the road, but they also offer free underground parking. There aren’t any elevators unlike their sister apartments - Casares Del Mar luxury apartments, front-line beach, about a mile away. With Al Bayt Resort you really need a car to get around. The beach is about 1500 metres away, but you must cross a very dangerous road, the A7, to get there. The apartments are handy for neighbouring towns such as Estepona, Sabinillas and Duquesa ports. Gibraltar is about a 40-minute drive away. I was given a one bed garden apartment with mountain and sea views. It was a compromise to get the sea view as I had to downgrade to a one bed, when a two bed was purchased as part of the holiday price. However, as I was a sole traveller it didn’t bother me that much. At least I got the views I wanted. The apartments are nicely laid out, open plan with lounge, kitchen and dining area. With the garden apartments there are French doors to the patio and small well tendered garden. The kitchen is well stocked with most of what you would need. Cutlery, crockery, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and a conventional oven. A TV is provided with mostly local channels and radio. Parking and security is good. The reception which serves Al Bayt Resort and the beach apartments isn’t open 24/7. It operates 9-5, seven days a week. If you arrive after these hours, you need to call the concierge/security on their mobile. It’s important therefore that you have a mobile phone. If you depart outside the reception hours, you post the keys in the post box on the wall outside reception. Free Wi-fi is available and it’s a good signal. The staff on reception are professional and very friendly. I would like to mention Tony, who was very helpful. The apartments are essentially self-catering, but there’s a restaurant off the reception area where you can buy breakfast and lunch. There’s also a clubhouse bar, which I have never stepped foot in, so can’t comment. There's at least one outdoor swimming pool. As I say the resort doesn’t bear a patch on their beach apartments, but for one week it was comfortable.…
