Cannot complain about location. Excellent for restaurants beach etc . Cleaned within an inch of its life so impressed their. Our second visit we stayed last June. It was more expensive this time 355 euros for a week. Which to be honest without breakfast not sure if we will use again. Especially with the two big hotels going up in the square. Shame as it is spoiling the pretty square. Beware pigeons in the square ice cream parlour next to hostal they are very brave and can climb on your back when eating.
Great location but that's all I can say positively. No double glazing so the outside noise of the bars and drunks keep you awake until about 3. Then the drunk residents come home shouting (no effort by the staff to stop them). Then next door to us have noisy sex! Then the builders start at the huge building site opposite about 7. Went home and had to go to bed. Oh and the toilet leaked. Avoid!
Located very centrally, a few yards off the Plaza Flores, La Malaguena is a traditional hostal, simply and cleanly furnished. Our room was on the top (third) floor - although no lift, the room has a large terrace overlooking the square and up to the mountains. Very reasonable price and friendly staff - all in all excellent!
Hotel staff were so helpful and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was as good as possible. We were upgraded to a beautiful room with a balcony and some great views across the city! Our room was immaculate every day and the house keeper was a lovely women! As for the location, it couldn't be more perfect. Right in the centre of Town, Restaurants and Bars less than a 2 min walk and the beach was 5 mins too. Would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Estepona - such a hidden gem.
Stayed 6 nights with friends. To see a g Friend who has retired their Very impressed . Very clean. Very good value if you book with booking.com you pay as you leave. Very relaxed. Only works out to £20 A night . Beds are very comfy. It's just bed and shower but so many bars restaurants around does not matter. The beach is amazing although windy in June. If you are light sleeper may not be for you as church bells may keep you awake . You soon get used to it. Although their is building works near don't let it put you off the square is very pretty . Taxis pricey bus cheap but only every half an hour. Not too many residents speak English. But you get by. Recommended
