Puente Romano Marbella garners acclaim for its lavish amenities, including an array of dining options, exquisite gardens, beach access, and superior sports facilities. Nestled in a prime location, this hotel is celebrated for its vibrant and sophisticated ambiance, stylish accommodations, and a setting that's both picturesque and convenient for beachgoers and food lovers alike.
While the service and cleanliness are generally applauded, some guests suggest there's room for improvement in breakfast service and housekeeping. Despite its luxurious offerings, a few reviewers note the rooms could benefit from some modernization.

Positive: Overall, we really liked the Puente Romano. Direct beach access with its own beach, including service, access to a variety of different and exclusive restaurants, directly within the resort, just a few minutes away is unique. Our favorite restaurants were Capriani (Italian) and Nobu (Japanese/Asian), great service, very good food and a great atmosphere. Many of the restaurants are located around “La Plaza”, a central square - this is where the party people are, especially at weekends. The clientele was also very pleasant throughout the resort, different nationalities (mainly English, German, Eastern European, Scandinavian), upscale and “distinctly reserved”. We also loved the beach pool with a view of the beach, where we always got loungers or sunbeds. There was also friendly and attentive service here, ditto on the beach. Thankfully, there was no typical “laying out of towels”. The breakfast buffet was definitely outstanding - we have stayed in many exclusive hotels but this beats everything - fantastic. We had a quietly located (except, see below) Upper Level Garden Suite, very centrally located in the resort. Room service was also very good, twice a day, again in the evening (on request) with new towels, water, bedtime snacks and a quick wipe down - very friendly and pleasant. The Puente Romano is certainly not a bargain, but definitely worth the money. We will definitely be back next year!
Negative: There was very little we didn't like (see above). Hence the following, honest "moaning at a fairly high level".
On the one hand, we felt that the price level in the restaurants was a bit excessive. Compared to equivalent restaurants in the surrounding area, 20-30% overpriced. We are happy to pay accordingly for good food, ambience and service, but that was not always the case (e.g. Gaia, Greek - arrogant service, food "so-so"). There's really no need for a small can of water by the pool for €5, €5 for a Magnum ice cream or €17 for a glass of rosé. The cleaning crew that starts at 6.30 in the morning with rattling carts could be done more considerately and better. In addition to the beach pool mentioned above, there were three others. Two of them are definitely showing their age and urgently need to be renovated - it feels like a 3-star hotel from the 80s.

I loved everything about this vacation. Laura and Luciana were spectacular in everything, organization and above all professionalism in everything, truly two charming people. They accompanied us throughout our trip, recommended the best restaurants and were impeccable. They couldn't have chosen two better and more empathetic people than them. We also highly value the room cleaning service, we recommend Mrs. Barbara, a truly professional and serious woman in her work. I thank each one

Enchanting stay in a unique setting that can rival the most beautiful botanical garden. Room with tasteful modern furniture. Very diverse gastronomic offer and generally of excellent quality. Very friendly and very professional staff.
Negative points: It is difficult to find a quiet place. What is especially annoying are the techno rhythms with an often annoying volume. Especially in swimming pool areas and on the beach it is impossible to concentrate on reading or listening to your own music with headphones, because everything is dominated by what is played through the speakers. In the Coya restaurant the volume is particularly high and even beyond the tolerable threshold. My smart watch measured peaks above 80 decibels, which is harmful! A romantic dinner is impossible in this restaurant.
The room service, which was in principle impeccable, was forgotten one day even after a complaint.

During our stay at Puente Romano we had a mixed experience. There are certainly some strengths to be identified. The location of the hotel is truly stunning, right by the sea, creating a relaxed and luxurious atmosphere. Upon arrival we were very warmly received by the staff, which made us feel welcome immediately. The rooms were also beautiful: spacious, tastefully decorated and equipped with every comfort. Breakfast is great too. The hotel also feels smaller than it actually is, which contributes to an intimate and cozy feeling.
Unfortunately, there were also aspects that made our experience less pleasant. Although we enjoyed the facilities, we often did not feel welcome because of a rule that surprised us: after 9 pm our daughters aged 13 and 16 were no longer welcome to join us for a drink and had to go to their room. This made us feel uncomfortable and separate, especially since we have never experienced this in a hotel with such appearance and pricing before. We were therefore forced to spend our evenings early in our room or elsewhere, which made the experience of our stay considerably less enjoyable.
At check-out we reported this, and the staff showed understanding for our frustration. We were offered a small discount (because they understood and rather heard), which was a thoughtful gesture. Nevertheless, we think it would be good if the hotel communicated this rule more clearly or considered adopting an adults-only policy, to avoid such situations in the future.
Our stay took place during the busy New Year period, which made the prices (such as €30 for a glass of wine, minimum spend in the beach bar of 1.000€ or 200€ for us 4 for 1 hour to use the spa ) maybe very high. While we understand that luxury comes at a price, we expected more flexibility and a customer-centric approach in exchange for the hefty price tag.
In short, Puente Romano has strengths, but certain rules and high costs have somewhat overshadowed our experience. A nice hotel but not for a family with children under 18.

Puente Romano is a unique place in south of Spain that achieves a difficult balance of maximum convenience and comfort without a trace of the annoying "resort feel". The level of service is the absolute best, this time around a special thank you has to go to Laura, who made sure our stay was just entirely seamless, even though we were visiting with our small dog (puppy toy poodle).
The selection of restaurants here will keep you entertained for weeks with lunch spots like Rachel's Eco Love, Sea Grill or Chiringuito and the upbeat atmosphere around the La Plaza for dinners.
Rooms are spacious and are located in tons of smaller Andalusian style houses scattered around Puente Romano. They have comfortable beds, nice terraces and all the bells and whistles you'd expect from a 5*.
You should also have no worries visiting in the "quiet months", there's no off switch in Puente Romano or Marbella as a destination, to be honest. If you do decide you want to try some of the other places around the city (our recommendation goes to Nintai), Puente Romano is perfectly located on the Golden Mile.
Just hope they won't get so popular and sold out that it'll be impossible to get a room and we can visit again soon :)

Ok, I gave the hotel a low rating a few days ago which I wrote in anger and should have had a beer first and cool down. I deleted my previous review and all in all the hotel is really nice and the location with the sandy beach is perfect. The suites are of good sizes but could be a bit better sound-protected as you can hear your neighbours quite well. Staff are all more than friendly and give you a good service. Restaurants so far tasted are all of excellent quality with fantastic interior designs. What I don't understand is why hotel guests have to pay EUR 50.- per sunbed at the Chiringuity beach. A family of 4 people staying 14 days have to spend another EUR 2800.- just for a service which is free in all hotels worldwide, unless the beach-club is operated by Nikki-Beach, if they choose to use this beach of course. Would we come back? Most probably yes!

I want to rescue that from my experience in the hotel the people who work there are the only excellent people who have , both the staff of the reception (Daniela , carlos , etc) and guest services (Laura , Virginia , Sandra , Sara, paula , etc) as well as the cleaning staff (Paquita) and on the beach ... loving people, helpful , attend to all our needs with a love , dedication and unique attention . Thanks to them my stay was able to get around all the unacceptable situations that we had to live on arrival (we were given the room at 5 pm , the room was not the expected category and this grime with hair in the bathroom and not with the Cleaning Eleta gives and so on) Honestly I wouldn't come back except that many things will change. What you rescued is the staff who work throughout the hotel. Dining , lunch or going to the beach is an odyssey ... there is never availability unless you book months in advance or have some managerial contact to process them. A disgrace. It's not worth the price they charge. I thank the staff who made my stay less chaotic thanks to their willingness and great help.

We stayed here in May 2022 for 5 days for my partners birthday
Pros- food is second to none. Seagrill, chiringritos and Nobu fantastic. Breakfast is a sight to behold, everything and anything you can imagine Beautiful views Everything spotless and nothing out of place Concierge amazing, helped me organise a special birthday surprise for my partner. Thank you guys! Beach is great Gardens and plants are absolutely stunning
Cons- We arrived on “ influencers weekend” ( first weekend in may) Influencers getting everything for free, drinks, food, great service at Plaza Us, fullpaying hotel guests, paying £800 per night, less than average service, “ being squeezed in”, paying over the odds to be ignored As previously mentioned before , hotel guests dont get any favour over people visiting for drinks etc so have to fight to get to the bar The pool areas were very quiet, no background music and no atmosphere People looking vacuously into their phones, nobody chats or is friendly €44 for two shots of sambuca All in all, would i return, unfortunately probably not!

Unbelievable, top luxury resort that still keeps his authenticity and has a surprising homely feeling to it .
Wonderful, meticulous services throughout the day only for the room - discrete and detailed housekeeping, at night they always treat you with some chocolates - up to local festivities gifts like traditional eggyolk bonbons on day of Andalucia!
The venues you find around the Puente Romano property are from world-class brands, menu’s that allow you to travel the worlds finest cuisines.
Unfortunately I was there for work, I wish to have enjoyed even more the facilities that range to the finest experiences of spa, different warm water pools, sport activities and profesional playfields (I can swear I saw top athletes roam the tennis fields..)
An unbelievable, stratospheric experience 👌
Well done @puenteromanoresort !!

One of the best if not the best resort we've ever stayed in. Enhanced by on site fine dining, impeccable service throughout the resort and a variety of facilities. Our room was like a small apartment. You pay a premium price but do honestly get a premium service immediately you arrive until you leave.

it is a very costly experience, but it is a beautiful place. The service is good most of the time. I think the right answer is to say : AVOID LATE JULY / AUGUST /EARLY SEPT.
The rest of the year is good and comparing oranges with oranges you get good value for money.
The restaurants are good but also costly ... So same applies - anywhere in the world high season is stressful.
I hope that helped.
There are more places to choose from in the Marbella area.
