We had two nights at Hotel Claude and what a little gem it is, set right in the heart of Marbella Old Town. It is a perfect location for a short break. The Hotel was delightful, and the staff couldn't have been more attentive from the moment we got there. We had an excellent breakfast both mornings on the roof...

Dear ClareFC I am delighted to read such a great review. Obviously we love and appreciate your comments regarding our little gem and our staff and service, but I also like your Tapas recommendation as well as your thoughts with regards the parking, which "yes" can be challenging sometimes. We hope to see you back soon. Yours sincerely Franz Josef...

This is our second visit. Last year around this same time, we came and had a marvelous experience, so much so, that this year we planned a family trip and I convinced all my siblings to come stay. In all we occupied 4 of the 7 guest rooms and after the first 2 nights had the place to ourselves. I...

Marbella was a little crazy at Easter to say the least...Hotel Claude was a sea of tranquility...the only thing more charming than the hotel itself were the attentive staff..breakfast on the roof was delightful.

Gave this a try after staying many times at the luxurious Puento Romano and Marbella Club. This is a superb, cosy, chique hotel right in the centre of the old town. Very peaceful and the service is first class. Make sure to have breakfast in your room and not to have a room with an open plan bathroom! Will definitely...

Dear NK74691 Great review and great tips for fellow guests. Lucky we have a few rooms with less open plan approach. As you well pointed out our Hotel Claude Marbella is a little cozy gem in the heart of a vibrant Spanish town. Not a chic beach resort, but I do like to be put on par with 2 of...

Enjoyed staying at this boutique hotel, the structure similar to the riads in Morocco. Our French suite was quite charming. Location is perfect. We were right at the centre of town, with many restaurants to choose from. Breakfast was very good. Staff attended to all our needs, including finding a car and driver to take us to Ronda and Cordoba....

From the moment we walked in (the taxi couldn't find the hotel entrance due to roadworks going on but dropped us a few steps away) we were made to feel welcome and special. Dear julesjenpoole Many thanks for your lovely review and words of praise for our staff and service. Tripadvisor proved again that a hotel with a top rating is a great choice. The building is 17th century, lovely renovated and fulfilled exactly what we wanted, an unique experience. The old city of Marbella is an excellent base for a short break. This a small and very well-run hotel. Staff are extremely friendly and attentive. The breakfast which can be taken in a very pretty rooftop setting is excellent. Recommended.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Revamped Royal Townhouse Once the summer residence of Empress Eugenia de Montijo (Napoleon III´s wife), Hotel Claude Marbella is a 17th- century townhouse that has been revamped and restyled to meld authentic period features with modern design, setting a new benchmark in the boutique-is- beautiful league of southern Spanish hotels. This latest chic retreat takes its name from the late Claude Devoize, the French Opera singer, whose home this townhouse was back in the 70s and 80s, hosting endless soirees and cultural gatherings. The focus of Hotel Claude is its marble-flagged patio and its unique romantic roof terrace, overlooking the bustling old town of Marbella. The seven rooms, divided into 6 Superior Deluxe Rooms and 1 Suite, have been designed individually and each boasting their own unique personality and feel, though all come equipped with the latest in comfort and technology. The Suite Francesca is the only room that looks out onto the old town’s main street. A large balcony and a huge floor-to-ceiling window keep it bright and airy, and the high, wood-beamed ceilings and decorative arch leading to the minimalist mosaic-fitted bathroom create a sense of spaciousness. All 6 Superior Deluxe Rooms are located to the back of the building, overlooking neighbouring patios and roofs. Up in the eaves, The Flamand room overlooks the roof terrace and has its own private stairwell leading up to a smart loft-style studio with glossy oak floors and a semi-open-plan bathroom. Listening to the church chime outside and looking out over the steeple, you feel like a princess in a tower. Savannah and North African-themed Marroqui are joined by a courtyard, making them ideal for families or friends travelling together. Small properties can sometimes feel stifling, but not here, and the design incorporates a flurry of velvet, purples, reds and cream colours. Once the a la carte breakfast has been served on the roof terrace or the black and white themed “bijou” style dining room, guests are left to their own devices. Focusing on showing guests a slice of the old Marbella, in addition to the Costa del Sol´s beaches and golf courses, Hotel Claude emphasises on slowing down and enjoying the surroundings. You´d be hard-pressed to find a retreat as slick or private as The Claude anywhere in Marbella. ... more   less
