The Alhambra Palace Hotel is absolutely fabulous! We stayed 2 nights, had a beautiful view from our balcony. Beds are very comfy, great shower, the room was spacious. All of the staff are so gracious & helpful, the best. The breakfast is delicious, just outstanding. We also had lunch & dinner on the terrace, good food & lovely view. The hotel is about 5 or 10 minutes walk from the Alhambra (make sure to get your tickets in advance, we recommend a guided tour, passport is required.) the hotel is about 10 to 15 minutes walk from the Albaicín neighborhood. Thank you to all the staff!! Highly recommend!!!

We had an excellent experience at this hotel. The staff were very attentive and gracious and a pleasure to deal with. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of healthy fresh entrées as well as traditional Spanish breakfast, food. In other places in Spain, I had difficulty finding fresh vegetables, but this breakfast buffet provided is an abundance of delicious healthy, fresh entrées, as well as gourmet chocolate.
The location is ideal if you want to explore and walk the beautiful gardens and grounds of Alhambra, and have walking access to city Center. Small details, such as quality sheets and toiletries and shower added to the Joy of staying here. Staying here was a real pleasure, and we hope to come back.

Big surprise: I imagined staying in a hotel full of people but we spent two nights in the middle of August in this hotel, which was almost empty! Only a few customers at breakfast, same thing during the day. And we were able to park our car in front of the hotel without problem (so for free). However, the hotel is very large, with beautiful common areas full of history. The interior has charm and class but on the other hand the exterior, imposing, is quite ugly. Our rather small but well-distributed room offered a clear view of the city and the mountain in the distance (with opening windows!). The location is within walking distance of the Alhambra and the center of Granada below is less than a 1/4 hour walk away. It's doable ! I feared the worst (a factory hotel full of people). I discovered an almost deserted palace.

Not worth it! Don't spend your money on this remodeled hotel that only spent money at your reception. I will start with the only good, the Arabic decoration of the reception, the proximity to the Alhambra and the views of the hotel restaurant. END. That's all the good stuff. The rest all bad; starting with hygiene, when we arrived the bathroom had hair on the floor of the previous guests. The room looks like a 3-star hotel room and not a 5-star hotel room. The decor of the room and the hotel is unrelated. The king bed is two beds together, so there is a dividing line in the middle super uncomfortable when sleeping as a couple. Unlike other 5-star hotels, the in-room refrigerator is empty. They give you a gable with cardboard packaging of a hostel and not a category hotel. Bathroom amenities (shampoo, conditioner, etc.) super scarce. I had to ask on 2 occasions to please replenish the amenities and when the staff brought them to the room, I did so reluctantly. Another thing, the bathroom super uncomfortable! No room. My husband wouldn't come in. Breakfast, just right! Nothing to highlight. The inattentive staff, I made a simple request about how I wanted the eggs for breakfast and they brought them as they wanted; that is, no attention paid to me. Finally and here the key thing, the hotel is on a slope, going downtown is not a problem because the road is down, but I assure you that after a day of intense walking or evening dinner, returning down that slope is death and you will regret not having chosen a more central hotel with better prices and services. Not worth it! I was recommended Hotel Victoria or several others for the central area of the Albaicín. I recommend one for the walk of the sad without a doubt.

The building is very beautiful. As well as its decoration. However, I wouldn't consider it 5 stars in many ways. The price is well above what it really offers, €300/night in February does not seem so cheap to me, taking into account that Granada has a good quality hotel offer today. In addition, the room was very tight on space and not at all luxurious, standard of an old 4-star.
Breakfast was not included, so we paid it separately at €24 for a very average buffet. It would be the perfect option if it were included as free with the room, but it is not worth paying for it at all.
We didn't use room service, which we usually do, but we found the à la carte prices to be very high. And we travel a lot and to all types of destinations in America, Asia, Europe and Africa. So we have visited many hotels and many very luxurious ones. Prices like this can be found in luxury hotels, but not in this one.
We wanted to check out late until 5pm and they charged us half a stay, €150. Never in many years of traveling have we been asked so much for this service. Normally it is 15 or 20% of the total.
For the rest, value the attention of the staff. All very nice and professional.
It was a whim to want to visit this hotel that has always been a great reference in Granada, but it disappointed us. Keep in mind that these views are not even of the Algambra, but of the city. And although you can see all of Granada, most of the cities look similar from above. A view without charm. And being close to the Alhambra has no merit, because in fact it separates you from the center and all its services.
I mean, for us it is very overrated.

What an amazing place, what a fantastic service, hospitality throughout. From the moment we arrived we fell in love with this hotel. After traveling for about 2 weeks and staying in several Paradore hotels we arrived at the Hotel Alhambra Palace. What a difference compared to all other hotels we stayed at. Finally we were warmly greeted upon arrival by the front desk and were helped kindly with our luggage and car by the on duty security officer. We were fortunate to have a room overlooking the city of Granada and also had a stunning view of the with snow covered mountain tops of the Sierra Nevada. Our room was spacious, clean and offered all that may be expected from a room in a 5* hotel. Bathroom with marble and tiles on the wall to remind you the Alhambra is just a few minute walk away from the hotel. It is always a pleasure receiving a small welcome note and in addition to that some nice cookies in the shape of tiles you will see at the Alhambra representing “water”. Besides the beautiful interior of the hotel and that the hotel is spotless clean, the hotel just has a very nice smell everywhere. Breakfast is a full buffet breakfast, fresh products and Nespresso Coffee. The hostess in the morning will welcome you, escort you to your table and explains the buffet. If you arrive in time you can be seated at the window side of the restaurant and enjoy the view over the city whilst having breakfast. Drinks at the bar properly served by the kind and helpful employees. Your room is obviously serviced daily and well looked after. Housekeeping team is kind, friendly and like all other staff members really focused on the guests. After a long morning visiting the Alhambra it is nice to be able to just walk back to your hotel, relax a bit before continuing your visit to this great cultural historic place.
We had a fantastic stay and do highly recommend this hotel! The hotel is a historic and iconic building with a fantastic team that shows sincere interest in their guests.
Thank you so much Team Hotel Alhambra Palace for making our trip extra special.

While impressive from the outside, this hotel, though historic, is quite dated and needs a major refresh. Perhaps they should close for a year with a plan to provide fewer, but larger and brighter rooms. While the historic public areas are nice, the same cannot be said for the rooms, which many in our group found dark and depressing. While we had a city view, it did not make up for the old, stained carpet, the dark interior and the less than adequate service (we had to ask for more shower gel as it wasn’t replenished when the room was cleaned, chocolate wrappers were not discarded, etc.) For a five-star property, this hotel did not live up to five-star standards. The place seems to be resting on its past reputation, but to be viable when the inevitable Four Seasons or another like brand bring increased competition, this hotel will be left in the dust if it doesn’t update its rooms with more modern baths and a brighter decor (think the Alphonso XIII in Seville as an example.) The breakfast buffet was unimpressive with eggs cold and overcooked, as they had been sitting in the warmer for way too long. Service was nowhere to be found at the buffet. Cannot speak to the dinner as we ate off property. However, you can’t beat the location as it is only a 15-minute walk to the Alhambra Palace historic site.

Dear Guest, Thanks for your review about our hotel. Your appreciation of our hotel's historic public areas is much welcomed. It is delightful to know that our location met your expectations, being so close to the magnificent Alhambra Palace. We regret to hear that aspects of your room did not provide the comfort and style you anticipated. Our aim is to blend traditional charm with modern amenities, and we apologize if we fell short in this regard. Additionally, we are sorry if the service you experienced was not reflective of our usual high standards. We strive for excellence in hospitality, and it seems we have not lived up to this commitment during your visit. Concerning the breakfast, we are disheartened to learn that it did not meet your expectations, and we will look into this matter to ensure our food quality and service remain exceptional. We are constantly working on maintaining the balance between preserving our hotel's historic essence and providing contemporary comforts. Your insights are invaluable to us as they highlight areas that may benefit from further attention and enhancement. We are hoping to welcome you back in the future. All the best. This hotel is well situated near the Alhambra and has a beautiful overlook of Granada, with a nice terrace cafe (with helpful staff and tasty cafe dining experience). The lobby has a stately feel and the staff is extremely nice and helpful. But, that is where the compliments end and why a 3 star rating. One of the most important aspects of a hotel, especially an alleged 5 star hotel, is the guest room and that’s where this hotel miserably fails. Although the junior suite was large, the bathroom was small, dated and impractical. I understand a desire to remain sensitive to the hotel’s era, but the room decor was gaudy and the limited furniture was outright uncomfortable. The bed was also uncomfortable. It gave zero desire for one to stay in the room. Given the room, there is no chance I could ever recommend this hotel, unless it was the last available 4 or 5 star hotel.

This must be the most overpriced tourist trap in Grenada accompanied by the least friendly staff. To not include the buffet breakfast in a €300/night off season rate is egregious and they are unapologetic asking €25 for a buffet that prioritises quality over quantity. They have a residents bar without a single seat which closes promptly at 11pm. When we asked if we could have a drink in the lobby (where we could be seated) we were told it was impossible. €25 a night to park your car but you can't retrieve it before 8.20 in the morning.

I mean, it's impressive with history, details, experienced staff which gives this place a stay to remember. The terrace is absolutely amazing with views on the city and the Sierra Nevada AND absolutely gorgeous sunsets. The Alhambra Palace and a beautiful park is walking distance.
Rooms are comfortable, the food is fresh, tasty and the service is absolutely perfect.
It is not a new "cool" hotel, and not meant to be. It was built in 1910, it is prestigeous, looks and feels like a palace, the rooms are renovated and comfortable, and you can feel the soul and grandeur of the place in the hall, the restaurant, the staircase and the corridors and the staff.
The centro is down the hill, about 10-15 minutes walk. Don't forget the hike back up. Totally doable if you have no issues walking.
Would go back!

Yes the best way to get to the hotel is a cab. I don’t recall the fare but it was reasonable. Once in town your best way to get around is the hop on/hop off which has a stop in front of the hotel but most places of interest are within walking distances. Enjoy
There are more places to choose from in the Granada area.
