Small but decent hotel with lovely views. Room excellent and bathroom has very modern and effective shower. Superb value for what I paid. Staff very helpful. Although it is on the fourth floor there is a lift. Hint - Gorgeous garden and buildings directly next door are worth a visit.

First the good points: The front desk was outstanding; gracious and helpful. The cleaning crew did a good job. The shower was fabulous. It was inexpensive. Location was good; on a quiet block with lots of eateries close by. Only one block from the "eating street". But this hotel badly needs updating. The hall way was dark with vinyl flooring that felt uneven underfoot. There was a musty smell to the room. Bathroom was oddly configured so that when seating on the toilet the sink was right in your face. We got a room with a private balcony. The room was large and spacious but there were no counters to put your stuff. Closets had no shelving. We put everything on the floor. In short this would not be my choice to spend vacation days in Granada.

The hotel is in a good location, very central and within easy access to shops and restaurants. The first room we were shown had a horrible damp smell and the shower didn't work, so we requested to change rooms. Our issue was resolved and our new room was better. Staff was friendly and helpful but the hotel itself is really run down and in need of upgrading works.

Staff was wonderful and the breakfast had a very good selection. Bedrooms spacious and modern bathroom. Comfortable bed too. Would definitely recommend to family and friends. Only 'negative' was no extra pillows and no extractor in bathroom. Good deal for price.

The hotel is in a great location, but is rather tired and dark. Some of the staff were very helpful, some seemed to be just waiting out there shift. There is not much in the way of soundproofing but this is more a fault of the guests! than of the hotel. When the coffee machine was working breakfast was ample. Winter nights in Granada are cold but the beds were comfortable and warm. For the price we had no complaints.

Dear Customer, Thank you so much for your comment and punctuation. We are glad to know you have liked the excellent central location of Hotel Carlos V. The hotel is well lit during the whole day. However, inif the client needs an extra lamp we can provide it at the reception. Regarding the staff, all our customers have very good opinions about our staff. Our main goal is to offer the best possible service to make the stay as comfortable as possible. We do not quite understand this part of the comment. If you come back to Granada, we really hope you will stay with us one more time. Kind regards.

The rooms in the hotel were clean and spacious but that’s about all that can be said in its favour The parking garage is located inconveniently from the hotel and is very difficult to negotiate Reception told us 3-4 times that car could on,y remain outside hotel whilst checking in for 10 mins but it took 20 mins to locate the correct staff member to assist with the parking She directed me to 1 space that anyone could see was impossible and then insisted I use another one but drive in - I explained this would not work as neither I nor driver of next car would be able to exit the car but she insisted until I parked and could not exit. We then reverted to my plan a and reversed in which solved the problem. And the staff are supposed to be the experts Returning to the hotel around 10 we took a drink on the terrace After 30 mins drinks had not arrived When i went to reception to enquire I was informed that lady who had taken our order had gone off shift and had not informed relief of our order. Although she had managed to charge our room !!! Drinks eventually arrived (others suffered the same fate) Breakfast was adequate, but not typical breakfast buffet On the positive, reasonable location with short walk to city centre on streets lined with bars and restaurants

Dear Customer, We are so sorry to read this comment. When the clients arrive by car, they can leave the car parked in front of the door of the hotel in order to take all the luggage to the room. Once the client has finished, at the reception we explain how to arrive to our private parking. There, our colleagues from Hotel Molinos will be expecting the client in order to go with them to the parking and help them if it neccessary. We are sorry if you have suffered any inconvenience during this process. We are sorry as well for the delay serving your drinks. This was something punctual and we apologise. Kind regards.

Staff lovely and helpful! Great views. Depending on which way your room is facing it can be noisy so earplugs needed on the Friday and Saturday night. Dark rooms and corridors with unpleasant lino half way along the corridor and then carpet, very odd. Breakfast OK but nothing freshly cooked on offer.

Dear Customer, Thank you for valuing your stay at Hotel Carlos V. We are glad to know you have liked the treatment received by our staff. It is our main goal to make the customers' stay as comfortable as possible. If we would have known at the reception the noise was bothering you we could have offered a solution, such as a change of room. Moreover, we could have offered you an extra lamp to light the room is you needed more lighting. Finally, regarding the breakfast, it has 72 references, divided into several types of coffees, teas, juices, assorted pastries, tortilla tart, fruit, etc. We do not offer anything cooked because our hotel does not have kitchen. Kind regards.

Location perfect. Parking not the greatest but at least available. Breakfast great. Check in nice. Service good Room: the minute you walked in, smelled of mold or something like that. Sheets were clean but bathroom!!! The shower floor was BLACK. Literally had to wear shoes to the shower because we were afraid of catching something. Mold or dirt has built up on the floor tiles and it is disgusting. The bathroom in general was not clean. Only stayed a night!

The hotel is in on the top floor of a building and reception is staffed 24/7 so no having to worry about being let in when arriving back late. I visited in June and have absolutely no complaints whatsoever. In fact, I was surprised at the quality of the place including the room especially based on how much I paid for it. It was spacious, with a large bathroom and strong shower, air con, TV and very comfortable bed. Others have remarked on the breakfast; at the amazing price I paid for the room, I was grateful to get one. There is bread, croissants, jam, butter, fresh fruit, cheese, cold meat (ham, chorizo, salami) cake, fruit juice, cereal, yoghurt, hot drink machine and also a kettle to boil water if you wanted tea. It never ceases to amaze me that some people pay lemonade money but want champagne in return. I have travelled the world much of it solo and I know a bargain when I see one. So much so, that I have already reserved my room here for another visit to the amazing city of Granada next Spring. Lastly, you are literally a minutes walk from one of the all time famous Tapas St but if like me, you want a break from it all then try La Botilleria (read my review) which is a minutes walk from Carlos V Hotel. Thanks to the staff for a lovely stay and please let me know if you found this review helpful.

On the 4th floor of an apartment block. Not a problem as we have used hotels like this before. The staff are very friendly and very helpful. And the breakfast was OK not a great deal to choose from but what they did have was quality and very nice. Especially when you can eat it on a balcony overlooking Granada. The problem we had was the room. 420. It was dark with a very small window that looked into a small court yard. It had a small bath room all in all the room was brown and a bit depressing. But it was very cleen. To sleep I had to wear ear plugs, you could hear every step in the corridor and every conversation. And on a Saturday night it is all through the night. Carpets in the corridor would be a good idea but I still think you would hear everybody's conversation.
