Not your usual place to stay, small and intimate and not in the city centre but these are all the pluses of the rambutan. It is in the Albaizin area of Granada which for us is the best part and far more interesting than the city centre. It is a big walk up the hill but is worth it. Afternoons...

Perfect place to stay great views and a great staff. Only complaint is far away from most everything but this is worth it for the view and the people. Great place for English speakers as well. Also very good food available

I first went to Rambutan in 2004, and have been returning at intervals ever since. Apart from its fantastic situation in Sacramonte, a short walk through the Albaizin from the city centre, and having the best view over Granada, Rambutan is special for the people it attracts. The faces have changed over the years but there has always been a...

Yes, it was a bit hard to find at first, but after we got our bearings right, we realised it was situated at such a central location but away from the tourist crowd. The rooms were clean, bed was comfortable, they have a bathroom in every dorm room and a huge selection for breakfast. They change the bed sheet, pillowcase...

Rambutan is a guesthouse/hostel that has a great staff - helpful and kind! Rambutan is definitely not for everyone as it is up in the Sacromonte area, which is up up up from Granada. But once you get there it is gorgeous! You have an amazing view of the Alhambra right from the porch and if you want to get...

When deciding on a place to stay in Granada, we were looking for basic accommodations at a reasonable price in a very good location. Rambutan fit that bill. It's located in the Albayzin, a fabulous spot to view the Alhambra and a neighborhood with lots of character. We were able to walk to the major sites (Plaza Nueva - 10...

Unconventional laid-back hostel with an incredible view over the Alhambra. There were even days we didn't go into the city, but stayed at the hostal to enjoy silence and the views. Recommended if you want to stay with your friends or when you are travelling alone.

A guest house with a difference! Hidden in the ambient old city of Albazyin, overlooking the Alhambra - a backpackers / guest house with a difference. Welcoming, fun and informative staff will fill you in on the area, always a diversity of guests and the perfect place to hang.

I have been coming to the Rambutan for almost 2 years now and I can say this place is a unique friendly and comfortable place to stay. I feel the location is perfect not to far from the city center but far enough to relax and have a drink of the amazing terrace that looks over the Alhambra, also the...

“If you don't want to sleep in communal rooms, the double room has more privacy and a double bed. If the owner offers the chance to sleep on the terrace - usually available only if the hostel is full - you should jump at the chance, it is very comfortable.”
