My husband and I spent two nights at El Ladron de Agua on our honeymoon. It was a wonderful experience--it is in an old Spanish building on a cobble stoned street, just next to a picturesque creek. Upon arriving, it doesn't look like much, when then you walk through a large wooden door and are greeted by a light, white,...

To start with what was good about our stay: our superior room was pleasant, clean, and comfortable; the hotel lobby feels like an oasis with a bright, modern take on a traditional courtyard and a gurgling fountain; and the hotel, in a modernized old building,is located close to the Cathedral and to the Alhambra. Although we paid for a better...

We are pleased you enjoyed you stay and would stay with us again. Your kind comments about Violeta is much appreciated; she is knowledgeable and very service minded. We regret that we were unable to give you a room with the view this time, but please contact me, personally, whenever you plan your next visit to Granada, and we will...

We stayed here over the 2nd UK May Bank holiday weekend and found it to be an elegant, stylish and understated yet aesthetic hotel. The room was on the 3rd floor and had a view of the Alhambra. Breakfast was not very elaborate but served in a cute little basement cellar. The location is the best bit, right opposite the...

Aside from all the usual things that you expect in a good hotel, I will list three things that we found exceptional, that you can't take for granted: 1. Water pressure in shower, could exfoliate the hide off an armadillo. 2. The best wifi, really exceptional. 3. Instead of researching, we went with recommendation from the front desk person. Both...

This hotel is right in the middle of things, right on the river, and right below the Alhambra, but it's a quiet oasis in the midst of hoardes of young people, tourists, and the general populace. It is within just minutes of walking to the mJor attractions and squares, yet when you walk through the door to the cool lobby...

We were pleased with our accommodation at El Ladron de Agua. We had a superior room which was very comfortable and experienced no problem with noise at all. The location was fantastic for us. An easy walk to Plaza Nueva for taxis and the mini bus to take you to various parts of Granada as well as to some lovely...

Thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at the Ladron de Agua. We were there during a very hot period and the room was comfortable, cool and quiet. We had a superior room with views of the Alhambra and the Darro River, and loved being able to look out and see the sights as well watching people stroll by below us. The...

El Ladron is in a great location and is comfortable, clean and understated. More like an upmarket hostel than a hotel. We never saw or heard about the drinks and tapas in the afternoon, but didn't miss it because Granada is so wonderful. Two negatives: the people next door to our room(La Luna) obviously had tummy trouble, and we could...

We are glad you found our location top notch. Regrettably we cannot undo the experience you had related to the guests next door having "tummy trouble". Most unfortunate, indeed.

We really enjoyed our stay at El Ladron de Agua. Every time we stepped over the threshold from the busy street, we marvelled at the sense of tranquility inside. We followed their instructions for parking to the letter which is essential. Then walked several minutes to the hotel. It is well situated on the bank of the Darro River just above the Plaza Nueva. That means walking distance to the Puerta de la Justicia of the Alhambra, good food around the Plaza Nueva and close to the Cathedral and...

A building from the 16th century has become a hotel, taking its spirit from the essence of Juan Ramon Jimenez's journey and his poems. Its privileged location in the heart of Granada, at the foot of the Albayzin; its rooms bathed in the light of the Alhambra; its colonnaded patio; its lounge, vestibule and well/cistern... All these charms will lead you to the sound of water, and to a peace that will give you inner harmony. ... more   less
