This friendly little economy hotel has a very authentic feel of Moorish Spain from the moment you walk inside, an impression which is added to by the individuality of the bedrooms located off two galleried corridors. There are nice little touches everywhere, from the fountain in the lobby to the horseshoe arches and atmospheric decor. Our double room had a...

Booked this hotel through the reviews I had read and was jot disappointed. The hotel is in Macarena district but very easy to walk into the main centre. I loved the authenticity of the hotel and the area. The staff were extremely helpful and we loved our room. The beds are extremely comfortable and the breakfast very good and proper...

We were in Sevilla for a conference but decided to skip the conference hotel for something rather more authentic and closer to the centre, and we added an extra day for sight seeing. This hotel was perfect. The staff could not have been more welcoming. The Morish decor was fun, and the bath was pretty much a swimming pool! There...

This small hotel is made spacious by a central lobby, decorated in beautiful plasterwork. The rooms are set on two galleries around this. I believe that the rooms are all different. Ours was certanly very nice, with an open shower set between two beaten metal basins. The location is at the northern edge of the old town, about two kilometres...

We were given a warm welcome and shown to our room. It was beautiful and spotless. It was at the front with windows on two sides giving get views onto the street. The room was lovely, the bed comfortable and the shower really good. Unfortunately I am an extremely light sleeper and it was a bit noisy for me. When...

We spent 3 nights at the Alcoba del Rey for 3 in Seville. We stayed in the Al- Mutamid room, which was by far the nicest hotel room we have ever stayed in! The weather was great whilst we were in Seville and our room may have become quite noisy should we have had to open the windows at night,...

We recently stayed for 5 nights. Our first night started with a chilled bottle of sherry on the roof terrace after a walk round the locality. It is very local with real people going about their normal daily tasks and relaxation. The Virgin of the Macarena church virtually next door was fully lit with candles for 3 nights of special...

Stayed there for 3 nights. Great Arab-style decor in hotel, lobby and rooms. Very friendly staff. Well located near food shops restaurants, bus stop to city centre. The hotel is adjacent to a great little tapas bar called el rincon de Rosita which is also where you get breakfast

We stayed in the Albenamar Junior Suite which has a huge Jacuzzi - above which there is a rain fall shower. This more than makes up for the lack of a swimming pool at the property. The four poster bed is however uncomfortable with high timber sides - this makes getting into and out of bed awkward. The courtyard area...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Andalusian legacy is still prevalent in Seville. Our hotel, Alcoba del Rey de Sevilla, is located next to the Basilica de la Macarena, which keeps the Virgin Mary of Macarena, in the same house where, according to the legend, the poet king of Seville Al-mutamid hid his impetuous love for the washerwoman Rumaykiyya from his father. To face modern life stress, in our hotel you will find peace, calm, serenity, tranquility, relax and rest for your body… and your soul.We invite you to time travel: go back to the Andalusian period, a time full of colors and emotions when Seville (Isbiliyya) was the cradle of Western and Eastern cultures, arts and scientific knowledge, thanks to the contact and fusion of three different cultures: Jewish, Muslims and Christians. You will be surprised by our colorful and impeccable decoration! But we have a bigger surprise for all of our guests. We are a hotel-boutique and every piece of furniture in the rooms and the hotel is on sale. You can buy pictures, lamps, headboards, canopy beds, chairs, curtains, bathroom fittings… everything you want! We are continuously innovating!A wonderful terrace with a Chill Out Lounge will make you enjoy spring and summer nights as well as you can have lovely sunbathings and freely use our outdoor jacuzzi. And the last surprise!!! The best tapas and andalusian food can be tasted in our restaurant, managed by our famous chef Rosita. She will personally serve you the best tapas you can ever eat ... more   less
