This parador is located in the city on the edge of the park, Isabel La Catolica. The building is modern. Our room was on the second floor overlooking the patio for a busy cafeteria. It was very noisy until the wee hours with children playing and yelling along with adults partying.Peacocks wandered the grounds. The room was quite dark and...

The Parador de Gijon is friendly, helpful, easy to find and central for both the football stadium, the beach and the city. Our room looked out on the street, so we enjoyed seeing the crowds of supporters leaving an exciting match against Sevilla, but it was quiet at night and very comfortable. We had dinner and breakfast included - both...

A beautiful room with a lovely outlook over the park. Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent dinner and breakfast. My only quibble - it was wet and cold on 13th October and some heating in the room would have been appreciated.

I'm not a great fan of Paradors, as for me they tend to be impersonal and not great value for money. However, we had a good courtyard facing room (210) for four nights, and found staff and cleanliness fine. Our room had a great bathroom, and everything we needed. Wifi could be slow, but is free, and easily accessed. The...

This was our first overnight stop following a 2 hour drive from Santander. It was fairly easy to find and although not visually pleasing, its location backing on to a lovely parkland area. we were told that the parador occupies an old mill, and the beach is a pleasant 10 minute walk away. The staff were all very helpful and...

We always stay in paradors when travelling in Spain and have come to expect quality. In fact over the past few years there have been many improvements in food and welcome. The setting is always interesting.

Was surprised to find myself in the middle of a whole lot of high rises. Next to a huge football stadium. Saying that it does border a nice park, fortunately the peacocks were quiet last night! Dinner was so-so, presented well but my main course, a beef escalope of some sort was tough and I had to leave most of...

Our reservation stated check in time is noon so when we arrived after a long drive at 3.30pm and our room was not ready we were quite surprised and disappointed. Very friendly service at the reception which made up for the drab appearance of the entrance hall. The room was fine despite being quite dark, and the bathroom is modern....
