Great central location with attentive staff. Rooms very good and clean. Just as others will have said..its not 5 star. Ask for dressing gowns. Having to Ask for tea and coffee in the room and 1 milk ..bit too tight. And limited toiletries in bathroom just take it from 5 star review

For the tourist, you couldn't want anything more. Wonderfully situated in the centre of Bilbao, right by the bus stop for the airport, the City metro, a taxi rank and within easy walks of all that you need to see, you have the best location to suit all your travel needs. The staff are really helpful and the breakfast will...

This the Grand Dame of the hotels in Bilbao; walking in you get the feeling of history; the staff are A1; they look after every single detail so our stay would be memorable; been to this hotel in multiple visits to Bilbao; location is ideal; walking distance to all the city spots(including the Guggenheim museum). This hotel always make me...

We thought we had booked in old Bilbao's luxury hotel choice in the best sense of the expression. I reserved our rooms over the telephone. I never thought, simply because it has never happened to me, that you needed to request a parking spot if you wanted one. And, as it happens, the receptionist who took my reservation over the...

We recently spent 3 nights at the Carlton in Bilbao at the end of a beautiful Spain/Portugal trip. We chose it for location and the promise of a typical European 5 star experience. Several disappointments...minimal staff in lobby so only a front desk (no concierge) to help with daily plans or follow through with restaurant reservations; no robes unless requested;...

We arrived a bit early to the hotel, so the room was not finished. The staff, who were professional and extremely friendly took care of our luggage for us. Later that day, when we came back, the luggage was already put up in our rooms, which was a really nice gesture. We had connecting rooms since we were a family...

The hotel was not too busy when I was there. However, tvis did not have negative inpact on service nor breakfast. Latter is just perfect. Location is perfect. Many good shops and restaurants as well as bars in the area. Walking distanse to Gugenheim and the old town.

Hotel is situated in a perfect location for exploring Bilbao. Beautiful 1920's building and fantastic view from our room but rooms are in need of updating as they are very tired and old fashioned. The hotel bar is oddly detached by its location off a corridor and doesn't feel like it is part of the hotel. With careful reconfiguration this...

Everything was perfect; the feel of an historical building, the rooms, the bathrooms, comfort & cleanliness, size of rooms, very good breakfast and an excellent restaurant for dining. Excellent location, walking distance to all major shopping, cultural and food & drink places...Perfect for both business and touristic visitors.

I´ve shared some breakfasts at this hotel with my guest travelers and I have to say that, having travelled all over the world, it´s complicated to find another hotel with such a great array of quality food elsewhere. Probably not the widest selection of food, but it´s quality and freshness are unbeatable.
