As a former road warrior (now retired) I’ve spent thousands of nights in hotels. THIS ONE IS THE BEST. Beautiful (unusual) design. Loving details in each room. Great beds and bathrooms. Great location. Walk everywhere in Palma. With all that, it’s the staff that makes it #1. So solicitous - helping me on my journey with great advice. Highly recommend. Can’t wait to go back.
Our second visit, last time was three years ago. Standards remain high. Very comfortable room, lovely and helpful staff. Breakfasts are delicious with a great selection of buffet and “to order” items. Rooftop pool space is a bit small if all residents decide to chill but still fantastic. Tasty food/snacks and drinks can be ordered. We also ate in the rooftop restaurant one night. Although “fine dining” with premium views, this was not stuffy and formal. Very relaxed and very friendly service….and of course excellent food. Would definitely recommend and return!
My partner and I stayed here for one night, our main goal was the spa for a full day of relaxation before an wining and dining in the highly recommended restaurant Urba. To break down the review; - Arrival, check in and room. - Spa and facilities - Restaurant Upon arrival we were immediately hit with a fresh and aromatic scent that flowed throughout the hotel lobby, a pleasant and relaxing welcome and start to day, no sooner had we arrived were we politely greeted by Victor, a friendly, welcoming and polite gentleman who was swift to seat us and offer a complimentary drink before checking us in. We were fortunate to receive an upgraded room with a patio which was perfect for coffee and fresh air. We were shown to our room on the first floor and welcomed with a note from the hotel. The room itself was clean, well designed, cozy and full of neat little tech designs (different light settings, iPad, under floor heating, electric curtains / black out modes). The bathroom and shower was also great. The position of the room was a little close to the elevator and main traffic area which didn’t prove to be an issue in the evening but did mean we were prone to a slightly earlier wake up the next morning due to the cleaners entering rooms and vacuuming in the corridor outside the room. The only real negative we found was the air conditioning wasn’t working below 19 degrees which meant a very warm nights sleep, I had to prop the patio door open with the small patio coffee table to allow fresh air to enter. We would have slept with the curtains open but the ambient lighting from the hotel corridor and patio area entered the room too much. Shortly after checking the room we headed down to the spa where a long swimming pool, hot tub, sauna and steam room awaited. All were working perfectly and in between using each we took time to relax on the sun beds listening to beautiful sounds of nature and gentle organic music in the background. The staff in the spa area brought bottled waters and were attentive to replenish fresh towels. Now the restaurant, I have nothing bad to say about Urba, the staff were so incredibly friendly, attentive, outgoing and helpful. We ordered some of the signature dishes which included the following; - Onion bhaji with chipotle cream, Indian raita and tamarind - Spinach croquettes and green curry - Crunchy prawns with chilli bean foam and sobrasada - Grilled octopus with artichokes and ras el hanout - Spicy creamy tuna with fried egg and Japanese rice All the dishes above were incredibly well prepared, bursting with flavor in every bite. The spicy tuna and spinach croquettes were so good we ordered each again! We also paired the food with a bottle of 2018 Albariño de Fefiñanes III which brought everything together very very well. To finish off the evening we had two glasses of Hibiki. To end the evening we tested room service for some Jamon Iberico and Ice cream and both arrived quickly to our room. My partner and I will certainly be back again in February to enjoy the spa and restaurant again! Thanks to all the staff for their kindness and constant smiles throughout our stay.…
My wife and I have just returned home after 5 nights at this hotel over the New Year. Firstly, I must stress that this is a really good hotel and we very much enjoyed our stay. It is in a great location with superb views from the roof-top pool and bar. It's just a short 10 minute walk to the centre of the old town through the labyrinth of fabulous narrow streets. The room was well equipped with the latest technology (everything is push-button including the curtains), the TV has all the key terrestrial UK channels, the bed was comfortable, Nespresso coffee machine with good supply of pods, iPad with all hotel information and newspapers, minibar, easy-to-operate drawer safe and plenty of wardrobe/drawer space. Bathroom was small with only room for one but the shower was huge with room for two!! Really, the floor area of the shower was greater than the rest of the room which seemed a little strange - great shower though! The staff were superb in every way. Smart, polite, efficient and non-intrusive. They went out of their way to oblige and respond to every question we had. Now the food: We ate twice in the restaurant (Urba), once for breakfast and once for an evening meal. Both meals were excellent with the evening meal being a quite superb grazing menu (Duck Fried Rice was epic!) Now, here's the complexity: Urba and Dins (Michelin Star) is the same restaurant but it isn't...... It's the same room. You can get the Michelin experience between Wednesday and Saturday and then it reverts back to Urba on the other days. Dins has an open kitchen but Urba doesn't (they just draw a curtain across half the room, unless it's breakfast when you can see the kitchen again!!) Finally, just to add to the confusion, the website maintains that Urba is open for 7 days a week. Well it isn't because Urba and Dins cannot coexist so Urba food can be obtained on the rooftop area on those days other than at the moment when it's not possible due to the rooftop being closed for food!! This is a 5-Star hotel and a small one where space is limited so I get the issue but I think the website should be clearer. There were a few missing dishes which all 5-Star hotels should have: A burger, a steak and a decent salad - it's just what everyone expects! Finally, I must mention the lifts: There are two (left and right) Press '4' for the rooftop on the left-hand lift. Press '3' for the same destination on the right. The other floors are served by these two lifts on split levels. Hope that's clear? As I said, this is a really good hotel and we really enjoyed our stay. …
Absolutely stunning hotel and luxury amenities. Stayed in several 5 star hotels that really shouldn’t be rated 5 stars but this hotel was fabulous. Detailing of hotel is exceptional and the price can’t be beat! If you don’t stay here then you’re missing out! Also recommend doing a package so you get the continental breakfast with your stay. Food was amazing and can order off menu. Can’t wait to go back or stay in their collection again! Thank you again for such a wonderful stay!
I loved this experience. The staff is really good and you can tell that they are experienced. Especially the reception as it was the best. The food is delicious, especially the breakfast. The view from the terrace is stunning. I will cherish this experience.
My wife took me here for my 44th birthday for 5 nights. The place is faultless. Amazing staff, rooms, spa, roof terrace and pool. The breakfast and lunch were great and the evening dining in the restaurant was sublime. I can not stress enough as to how good the staff were, always there but not intrusive, highly knowledgeable about the island, extremely helpful and just a delight. Congratulations to the hotel manager and the team for probably one of the most memorable stays I’ve had in years. 10:10 😎
