The Silken Río Santander represents the essence of the Cantabrian capital: an elegant, stately city, where the Cantabrian Sea holds flag and the local cuisine is a sign of identity. Its noble facade overlooks the beach of El Sardinero and the sea, offering views that are unique in the city. The location of the Silken Río in the Cantabrian capital is one of its greatest strengths. In addition to being opposite the beach of El Sardinero, it stands next to an emblematic building with more than 100 years of history: the Grand Casino, located in Plaza Italia, the neurological centre of summer in Santander. A few steps from the hotel entrance there is a bus stop and it takes less than 10 minutes to reach the city centre by bus, while places in Santander as characteristic as the peninsula of La Magdalena are just a pleasant 10-minute walk along Avenida de la Reina Victoria, the street on which the Silken Río is situated. We have five rooms, with the possibility of combining some of them to reach the capacity your event requires, with a maximum of 180 people with the banquet layout. Presentations, business meetings, video conferences, coffee breaks and all kinds of business events and meetings are held in our well-equipped rooms, which offer all the technology you need to make sure your event goes off as well as possible.

Stayed one night when we arrived in Santander after 24 hr crossing. Wonderful welcome on reception, beautiful room. Was offered use the of a kettle, which we were grateful of for a cuppa. Breakfast was wonderful too. Definitely stay here again if in the area. Car parking is underground public car park but secure and handy.

We loved our stay at Silken Rio! The staff were friendly and helpful, they also spoke very good English. The room was clean, tidy and well equipped with superb views. We enjoyed breakfast each morning and also enjoyed an absolutely beautiful meal in the restaurant. I can also thoroughly recommend the hot chocolate in the bar, it's possibly the best I've had to date.

The room and location were excellent. The only gripe we had was that the restraint wasn't open even though the menu was advertised in the lift and at the front desk, we were told the restraint would be open for our evening meal but when it wasn't we were told the same menu would be served in the bar, it wasn't but saying that the food and wine we had were faultless and the lady behind the bar was very helpful

Nicely located, almost next to the Casino, across the Sandinero Beach 1, close by to public transportation. Friendly staff and plenty of free parking on the streets. Free WiFi and breakfast available in their cafeteria.

Travelled as foot passengers with Brittany Ferries from Plymouth. Cabin good but crossing bit rough. Arrived to sun in Santander caught taxi outside terminal,no problems and cost 5.5 euros. Hotel is excellent with good seaview. The receptionist was brilliant and really friendly, good start to any stay. Off to uave a coastal walk, reccommend it anyone.
