The hotel is in a grand old building in a great location but looks a little unloved inside. The staff are not very friendly and offer the minim of service. The breakfast is just OK. The rooms have little noise insulation from adjoining or overhead rooms. It offered nothing more than a budget priced hotel and I have stayed a...

This hotel was a great find. We found a great deal online - two suites for 3 nights for the price of 2 nights. They only have 2 suites in the hotel. The rooms were huge, had a small sitting area off the bedroom and a large outside deck. The hotel is an old palace and is really lovely. Breakfast...

Arriving on a hot afternoon it was wonderful to step through the old walls into the calm oasis of the gardens in front of the hotel. We knew there was a steep flight of steps to tackle and with a dodgy knee they were tricky, but my husband carried the cases and we managed fine. Our room was traditionally decorated,...

I ditto all the good things said about this hotel. When you walked thru the portal and saw the gardens, terraces and patios in front of you, you wondered if you were in the correct place. Through the gardens and up the stone stairs you can see that this was once an opulent residence at one time and now a...

On arriving I thought I was in the wrong place. This place is by far the poshest ‘best western’ I have ever seen. It has a lovely tired courtyard with lots of great features on them leading you to this grand hotel thank makes you think you have stepped back in time. The rooms are large and full of wonderful...

We are sitting in a lovely room in the hotel, awaiting a bus to the train. The property is magnificent, previously the residence of a cardinal and now within the Best Western chain. This is not the American Best Western! The rooms are large, the restaurant is lovely (albeit expensive) and the public patio and rooms are a comfortable escape....

Great hotel, friendly staff, clean and tidy with a fantastic outside bar/terrace. If driving, your sat nav (if you have one) will take you to the front door, where you can park outside for upto 2 hours for around 1.50 euros - there is an underground car park about 30 secs away, get the hotel to stamp your ticket as...

Hostal del Cardinal is located in a beautiful old house (dating from the 18th century), set back against the old city walls of Toledo but with oasis-like gardens in front. We had a triple room at the front, overlooking the garden. The furnishings are lovely (old timber cupboards and windows), but also very comfortable. The location is very quiet, and...

We loved this charming hotel on the fringe of the city. The hotel had parking and was easy to find as we drove into the city. We left the car for most of our visit and walked everywhere. Great exercise as the city is quite hilly. We ate at the hotel restaurant one night in the beautiful courtyard-excellent meal and...

Wow- so many people put off by the stairs. Put down your Big Gulps and look at something other than American TV for gods sake- you're in Toledo! The beauty of the garden is so welcoming and peaceful we did not notice any problems with the TV reception. We spent a lot of time up in the city, seeing the...
