I was a bit worried having read some negative reviews but needn’t have done so!

The hotel is in a great position on a hill overlooking old Toledo with plenty of parking. We received a warm welcome and as we went to our room saw that the public areas of the hotel were attractively done and in keeping with the style of the hotel and clean.

Our room was spacious with a large comfortable bed and patio doors leading onto a terrace. The bathroom was marble and again spacious. Plenty of towels and all toiletries provided. Everything was clean. For once we didn’t feel like second class citizens with an inferior room because we had a dog friendly room.

The staff we encountered were pleasant and helpful and spoke more English than we do Spanish. We had a very pleasant drink in one of the bars followed by a perfectly good meal. Not everything was open in the hotel but we understood that because it’s winter. The grounds looked well kept even though it was winter and it was great to be able to wander around them with our dog.

Breakfast the next morning was in a different dining room to where we had dinner and was well laid out with a splendid view over Toledo.

Yes, there may be a few scruffy areas or bits requiring attention but we didn’t come across anything that detracted from our stay and I am very fussy! Yes - Reception can be quite a way from some of the bedrooms but you don’t have to go outside and there is a lift. And we were glad of the walk to stretch our legs after a long journey on our way to southern Spain.

Our stay including dinner and breakfast was really good value. Our friends who stayed in another hotel in Toledo paid three times as much a week later and weren’t happy!

We are very happy to be staying at our hotel again on our return journey to the UK next week!

no tea and coffee making facilities or water provided in the room. ( an expensive mini bar was available )coffee shop closed, after a 6 hour drive we needed some refreshments.
the restaurant was a major disappointment, I could not eat my meal. when I complained about the cremated lamb, I was told that no one else had complained!
a bland and soulless building, with miles of corridors..
.
On the plus side, fabulous location, amazing views of Toledo, good car parking, and we were put into a large suite.

Ideal location, but the hotel has seen its glory days, and certainly no longer deserves these 5 stars.
When we arrived we noticed shortcomings which were not worthy of a 5 star rating.
Dust on the floor, hairpin, mold in the shower and incomplete door knob, uncovered cable of the hair dryer etc.
We therefore received another smaller room without price compensation!!!
There was also a wedding which kept us awake.
End of the festivities noisy not by the music but by the screams of certain guests

No toiletries supl, ied, not even a satchel of shampoo, nothing. Toilet rolls were half used and so ran out. The Hotel is dog friendly but nothing is provided for your dog, and understandably dogs are not allowed inside tye restraints or Cafeteria but to then exclude them and you from the outside seating areas is a problem. The only area we could eat at were two high level tables with tall chairs which we struggled with as older clients. Surely it's mot beyond tye wit of the management to cordon off two or three ordinary dining tables ? To then be billed on check out for €1734 sI had apparently eaten 108 dinners the previous evening in a restaurant I was banned from took tye biscuit. Shame it could be much better.

Hotel with incredible views, great restoration, and good service. The pool area is highly recommended for summer.

The rooms are spacious and very comfortable, although it is true that the hotel could use some more maintenance and a small facelift in certain areas. We previously stayed in June 2022 for our wedding and everything was perfect. Patricia and Samanta's attention was second to none, and everything went great.

Large gardens, although on a slope. Simple parking. Upon arrival at reception, which is on the 3rd floor, there is no hall. We were a 55-pax group and it wouldn't fit. When you go to the rooms, as the floor is made of separate rustic tiles, the noise you make with your bags is very unpleasant. You come across stairs every two by three (I don't know how people in wheelchairs can unfold) The corridors are curved. We lost every two by three, we didn't know which way to pull. To go to breakfast we took an elevator to the floor where it is, but then you have to climb five or six steps to enter.
The very spacious rooms, magnificent views, dinner and food we already had hired were normal as well as breakfast.
You have one or two stars left over. I'm not coming back.

This is a terrible hotel. It’s definitely not a 5 star hotel, more like a 1 star. We arrived to an under whelming welcome, which set the tone for our stay. First the key card wouldn’t work to open the room door and when we eventually got into the room, the electricity wouldn’t work. This was a continuous problem throughout our 3 day stay. The electricity kept tripping. The sockets in the room were downright dangerous as they were falling off the wall. Most of the walls had damp coming up through them. The place was absolutely filthy. We were unfortunate enough to try breakfast the first morning and it was horrible. The coffee tasted like ditchwater. The food provided was very basic and very low quality. We went to check out the pool and it had bird poo all around the edges with no sun loungers. This hotel is in need of a complete renovation and new management.

This was our 2nd stay at this hotel in 2 months, our first visit was ok, but we arrived late and we were tired from the drive. However on this 2nd visit we arrived at the hotel early evening and after dropping our bags off at our suite we arrived at the restaurant for our 7:30pm booking. We were the only people there and the waiter looked annoyed that we were there, demanded to know if we had a booking!! Which we did have! He showed us to our table, he was quite obviously in a bad mood!!! We ordered a drink and our food. We both ordered the beef tenderloin, requested to be cooked medium. The food arrived and just looking at both our steaks it was clear they were raw! I cut mine in half and it was just sealed on the outside and the whole steak was raw!! Not even rare, I would say blue! My husband’s was the same. We called the waiter over and showed him the very raw steaks! His answer was ‘madam in Spain this is medium!!!!’ He spoke to us like we were stupid! We’ve travelled all over the world, we own a home in southern Spain and we are intelligent enough to know what a medium steak is and medium is medium wherever you are in the world!! This man was just rude and should not have argued with us! We politely said they were raw and could they be cooked longer! He snatched them off our table mumbling something and brought them back literally cremated!! So cremated we couldn’t eat them!! So according to this waiter Spain only do ‘medium or cremated’ and no in between!! Anything cooked below the medium we were given would still have been munching grass and mooing around a field!!!
It was a dismal experience and one we won’t repeat!
On a plus side the gentleman who was on the night shift on reception was a very lovely guy, very helpful and pleasant. When we told him about the restaurant debacle he agreed with us that cooked medium is medium just the same as the rest of the world and the waiter was wrong to say otherwise!
Stay at the hotel, it’s lovely (if not a bit tired) we always have a suite and it was nice, the hotel is in a good position however it’s definitely a taxi ride to town unless you enjoy walking a lot!!

On a recent family vacation, the on line photos of this property caught our attention while visiting historic Toledo Spain ( Alcazar, Catheral, Moorish history).
However, the hotel is aged with much needed repairs and attention badly needed. Furthermore, the rooms were so dirty, that our daughter suffered an sinus/asthma attack . As we tried to ventilate the room, the a/c was not operational and a partially seized hvac motor made a very loud and unpleasant whirr..
On the 2nd morning we requested to check out in consideration of our daughters health. The front desk representative did show us an alternative room option, however upon entrance the room was 27.5 Celsius. We declined of coarse.

The Manager was then approached to cancel our upcoming night stay, but refused to accommodate or reimburse us, according to the very courteous and concerned Front desk representative.
We subsequently went to stay at a Sercotel in Toledo at our expense and were very happy that we did.

Traveling to the south of spain by car with our dog, we booked this hotel as we wanted to stop for a night in Toledo,

The hotel is in the category pet friendly, well I can say that they accept pets only in the room, it is not pet friendly at all… you have to sign a document upon arrival with rules to follow.

The rooms are very dated and in need of a real renovation, shower is not working, isolation is very bad, and the worst is the electricity in the room, there are electrical plugs with out cover… also in the bath room some wires coming out from the heater… our children are old enough to understand but if you are with small children this is a real danger, first time I see this.

The hotel is maybe five stars but I wouldn’t give it more then Two.

The only thing positive is the view and the swimming pool.

On my 2 visits the restaurant has been completely empty. If you want nice meal I would go somewhere else. Otherwise buy some takeout food from one of the supermarkets, which you will likely pass on the way to the hotel. Regards
