The building for this Parador has a real Wow factor. It is an old converted convent, which looks fantastic outside, and is just as good inside with large open spaces and wide staircases. The Cloisters are peaceful, and there is also access to the adjacent church. The rooms are large and very comfortable with a good modern bathroom. Free secure parking is also available. Breakfast was the usual continental spread, with some cooked options on request.

Loved my stay at the parador. It was my treat for myself during the camino. They allowed me to check in early (I arrived around 930am and was just planning to drop my backpack) because a room was already available. They also told me about the 10am free tour of the monastery for hotel guests. The tour (it was in Spanish) was wonderful, such an honor to see the nooks and crannies of the monastery. Service for lunch and breakfast were exceptional, the food was delicious, and check in and check out were seamless. Wifi was fast, and I loved the fact that they did not use small disposable containers for shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Its a bit of a walk to and from the cathedral, but its on the camino trail so easy to start walking the day after.

Spectacular building, inside and out. Beautiful large room at the front of the Parador, overlooking the large square. (no car traffic....) with small balcony.
Were offered some free drinks at bar because of long wait at check-in.
Chose a package with breakfast and dinner included, which seems very reasonable compared to the prices we have paid so far for just overnight-stay and additional extras such as breakfast and dinner.

The Parador is not a 5 star hotel, they need to improve in quality of housekeeping and room furniture. I did not like the modern style of the renovation in a gorgeous old building. You lose the experience of been in a building with history and sumptuousness.

everything about this heritage building is awesome. Guests are treated as if each one is personally important. Everything which one would expect (spotlessness; good linen; great food; great sound-proofing) and some things which are a bonus such as access to parts of the building restricted to guests only, such the fabulous cloisters, the old entrance; the old Library! On Saturdays, Sundays, festival days, there are also guided visits to other normally restricted parts of the original building. Not to be missed

We were very impressed with the ambience and luxury in this hotel though we thought the price was a little high. The beds and pillows were exceptionally comfortable though we found it difficult to control the room temperature even though a porter came to set it for us. The service and food in the restaurant were superb and the building itself is very grandiose. The staff were very helpful and nothing seemed to be a problem. We hadn’t realised dogs were allowed to stay and bark so much. Perhaps rules about animals need to be stricter.

Absolutely exceptional place, hotel housed in the San Marco convent, jewel of Plateresque art classified as a historic monument with spacious modern rooms, very comfortable bedding, very pleasant bathrooms, magical common areas tastefully furnished with antique furniture and paintings from all periods: skilful contemporary/ancient mix; excellent maintenance, unique beauty of the setting which gives you the impression of reconnecting with high-end travel without the crowds or the noise and of benefiting from absolutely incredible spaces alone: we had the upper cloister to ourselves!
Very generous and varied breakfast
A magnificent address where we can only leave compliments and where our two nights passed too quickly.

A lovely and beautiful hotel, newly renovated and luxurious oozing with history. Excellent food and service. But.
The electrical system in my room was a disaster and the WiFi unreliable on my phone. Switches worked, then didn’t. At one point I turned the lights off but one light came back on and glowed dimly; the only way to turn it off was to unscrew the bulb. Attempting to reset the switches with the key card didn’t work. Others in my group complained that the thermostats were useless.
WiFi was adequate but my phone simply wouldn’t stay connected (my laptop did), causing me to use up all my data allowance unknowingly.
These are technical issues perhaps related to the recent renovations and I assume easily solved. They would be frustrating anywhere but for the prices paid here these systems should work reliably.

This hotel is finally a true 5 star. They have understood the concept of client service and satisfaction. Attention to the details and very well prepared staff. As an example, we had to leave early in the morning and they prepared an early breakfast for us before the actual breakfast opened.

+1
The stay in general was good, the reception was correct, friendly and polite treatment and a quick process, the facilities were very good, everything was clean and very tidy, the truth is that it was comfortable in the corridors, the room was large and spacious, it was very clean, the beds very comfortable and the soundproofing very good, so far great, but there were a series of things that were a little uncomfortable for me, the sliding bathroom door needed to be strong to move it, and then several details of the bathroom, for example For example, the faucet on the right side, the one attached to the shower, was crooked, I understand that it may be silly but in a 5-star place the details are very important, the shower head was down, it seemed broken and that in any case moment it could fall, the bidet faucet when trying to use it did not come out with water and the problem was that it could be removed and when you put it in the person who was there before did not put it in correctly and that is why it did not work well, you were left with it in your hand, another thing was on Saturday when we arrived after eating there was an unbearable smell of plumbing in the room that we did not detect on Friday when we arrived because the shower door was closed, but on Saturday morning after showering we left it open and when we returned We smelled it after eating, we realized on Sunday morning when we opened the shower door to take photos of the fallen sprinkler and man it is a big mistake, also the shower did not drain the water, a puddle formed that took 10 minutes to clear. leave, also inside the room and when I tried the window on the right as you look from the front and when I opened it I was also left with the handle in my hand, when we opened it to get rid of the bad smell from the shower pipe, in As for the television, in my opinion, very small for the great distance from the head of the bed, as for breakfast, I really expected more, for example bread, more varieties, the topic of hot things in my way. To see, I prefer to have them to put them to my liking, as for sausages, correct, some things I would put but that is my taste, pastries, it seemed scarce to me in terms of different things, the coffee machines were a little cumbersome, the cafeteria was very good, We were having some beers and wines and we were very comfortable, the waiter's treatment was excellent, the guided tour is a great idea but in my opinion since they have this spectacular heritage it should be a little more extensive and intense, the parking thing is really great that it is free for clients, this is my opinion and please take it as something constructive to improve those small details, the price is high and you are looking for something excellent and for those details I cannot say, my room was 208 and if you need Contact me to clarify or expand my comments, please do not hesitate to do so, I will be delighted.

The Parador re opened last 3rd of December
Yes. It was meant to close around last Christmas and would open again two years later. You will find their information on their website.
Do you mean can you print something out there? I would imagine that you definitely can: it's a 5 star hotel and they have public computers and, I'm sure, printers. I don't know how much it would cost; you would have to ask at Reception. I don't work for the hotel, I have just reviewed it.
Yes, the room is from the Parador in Leon. I stayed there in 2014 and it was fairly similar to my room.
