I visited Barcelona with 3 children, aged 14, 17 and 17. The room we were given had a queen sized bed and a sofa bed. The bed was great, the sofa bed was not. If you are booking a room for 4, I would say that the sofa bed won't be suitable for anyone older than 12. We were only...

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in middle of October 2012. We had no problems with the hotel whatsoever. The hotel is only 2 blocks from the main metro into the city and one block to the local rambla street, which is full of small shops, bars, restaurants etc. This street also goes down to the beach front which...

I stayed here for the weekend in December 2011 for the weekend. I enjoyed my stay. The breakfast was great. There's a wide variety of things to choose from. The hotel is not centrally located to the touristy parts of Barcelona but there are cafes, bars, restaurants and shops within the immediate vicinity of the hotel. I had a nice...

Handy for both Llacuna and Poble Nou metro stations, and the restaurants on Rambla de Poble Nou, it is worth staying there just for the location. However, the service is poor. Ask for an iron and ironing board and you'll probably be told there aren't any - or have to wait a day and a half. Ask for an umbrella,...

We stayed in Barcelona for several days after a Med Cruise. We stayed at this hotel because I used my PC points. When we arrived at the hotel our initial impression was less than positive. It is located in a business area that appears to be undergoing a lot of change. The reception area is on the second floor of...

The hotel is nicely situated in Barcelona. There is a rambla behind it with lots of restaurants to choose from. The train station is only a few blocks away. Miguel at the Front Desk was very helpful. He gave us a good suggestion on where to eat good authentic paella. He answered very question we asked him. The hotel room is...

We stayed here for 2 nights prior to our Med Cruise. The hotel is nice and clean and in a quite residental area. The metro is a few blocks away and gets you into the city quickly. It was nice staying here in the evenings after the hustle and bustle of touring in the city all day. There are several...

We have stayed 4 nights at the HIE Barcelona 22 Location: Although the hotel is not centrally located, getting to and from this hotel from the touristic areas is relatively easy as it is close to Metro line 4 station. Transportation to and from the hotel: We have purchased a T10 metro card (thats 10 rides for about Euro 9.50)...

Staying in Poblenou

Neighbourhood Profile
Poblenou
The futuristic Agbar Tower stands out from Barcelona's skyline in Poblenou. It is no coincidence then that this area of town is the newly crowned technological park of the city, its own mini Silicon Valley containing a tech incubator (Barcelona Activa) as well as a host of local and international high tech companies. To accommodate the onrush of new residents and workers, the area of Poblenou has seen a surge of activity in new high-rise residential buildings and two top-notch shopping centres catering to everyone's need. The ambiance of this area is calmer than the city center and the beautifully relaxing Bogatell Beach, popular with locals, is just a handful of blocks away.
