I stayed in La Casa Gran with my family this May. The location is great, close to public transport and on a very nice boulevard. The building feels very upscale inside and out. The rooms are spacious and a lot of effort has gone into the decoration. Montse was also the best host I've met in any B&B. She was...

In April 2012, myself and two friends spent a week traveling in France and Barcelona. Our trip to Barcelona came at the very end of our trip and when we arrived we knew this was the nicest place we had stayed! Montse was absolutely lovely and very accommodating. She was helpful about giving us ideas of where to eat and...

We stayed in La Casa Gran in April, 2012. What a treasure to have found such a wonderful host! Her B&B is housed in a beautiful, historic building on El Diagonal, a main street. It is right on the buss line and fairly close to the metro station. There are many wonderful places to eat nearby. Montse went out of...

We had the pleasure of staying with Montse and her gorgeous and gentle doggies in early June this year. We found Montse to be very welcoming, warm and extremely helpful providing us with lots of advice and tips that made negotiating Barcelona a breeze. Although we had originally booked for only 2 nights, we extended our stay as we were...

This studio B&B is fabulous and we highly recommend staying here. Fantastic location and although it is in a central part of a busy city we found it peaceful and quiet. The place has high ceilings, very cool furniture and lots of art- but is not over cluttered, rather spacious and light. The host, Montse, is a delight. She always...

My first visit to Barcelona was an amazing one, made so, in large part, by my new favorite place to stay, La Casa Gran. Walking on Las Ramblas, snacking my way through La Boqueria, and watching the show that is daily life in Barcelona, I was equally as content to take a break or end my day by walking a...

Everything was good. Room very cosy an originaly decorated (room 2). If you have to go there, choose room 1: it is the best room and the more spacious. Only negative point: from my room, it was pretty noisy because of the continue flood of cars in the street.

I stayed at La Casa Gran for 4 nights in july after a busy schedule working at San Fermin Festival in Pamplona. I desperately needed a good night sleep in a nice room and I got that exactly, I was surprised with the large bath in my room which I used immediately, perfect size and instant hot water. While I...

We visited Barcelona for the first time in June and feel very lucky to have found Montse and La Casa Gran. The apartment is a tranquil oasis in a vibrant, fast-paced city. It was especially nice to visit with Montse and the dogs after long days of exploring. We found the location ideal for walking to shops, restaurants and the...

This is the best place in all of Barcelona! I was determined to avoid another typical hotel experience, so I decided to try a B&B. The the second I arrived I knew I made the right choice. La Casa Gran is simply amazing! It has a wonderful atmosphere that is equal parts casual and friendly. Montse is a gracious and personable...

Staying in Eixample

Neighbourhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
