This is the best place in all of Barcelona! I was determined to avoid another typical hotel experience, so I decided to try a B&B. The the second I arrived I knew I made the right choice. La Casa Gran is simply amazing! It has a wonderful atmosphere that is equal parts casual and friendly. Montse is a gracious and personable...

An interesting old apartment with a very friendly and helpful owner Montse. There are 3 lovely and friendly dogs. The area is nice with plenty of restaurants and shopping and Montse gave me a list of restaurant recommendations. It's not near any of the main tourist sites but the tourist bus stop is nearby. There's a bus to the Placa Catalunya...

La Casa Gran is the 'principal' apartment in a fantastic old building. It's located within walking distance of the centre of town (Placa Catalunya). Also, one of the tourist busses stops just outside the building - which was handy for us because we made extensive use of this service. It's also close to the 'Diagoal' Metro station. The owner, Montse,...

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights in April, having seen the previous great reviews on Trip Advisor and not wanting to sleep in a hotel room that looked the same as anything you could find anywhere around the world... The b&b had everything we could've wanted, a very clean and quirkily furnished room with an unusual Japanese...

We spent four nights at La Casa Gran in early June. Although we arrived rather late from the airport on our first night, Montse, the hostess, was more than friendly in providing directions and then welcoming us when we arrived at the apartment after midnight. In addition to a private bathroom, the room included both a large bathtub and a...

It's the first time that my BF and me, spend a few days in Barcelona, and for me, it's the first time that i experience the Bed and Breadfast. Actually, excellent choice, unique location, warm reception and a very comfortable home to stay either for holidays, or for business purpose. Definitely, LA CASA GRAN is a good place to be...

It really is hard to remember all the wonderful things I want to say about La Casa Gran. Montse, the hostess is totally charming. She went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable - recommending places to eat and routes to take, calling taxis for us and generally being our Barcelona guide. The rooms are very comfortable and...

We found the B&B to be a perfect location to explore the city before our cruise. Having a private bathroom was very nice, good water pressure, and the bed was comfortable. Yes, you are on a busy road (but living in a major US city, we didn't find it distracting.) Montse was a great host! She pointed us to an...

We had a wonderful time in Barcelona. Montse's home is wonderful, breakfast was delicious, the puppies were sweet and the room was spacious and beautiful! Montse made us feel so welcome and gave us tips on how to see the best parts of Barcelona in our short trip! We would definetly recommend her bed and breakfast and encourage you to...

Spent four nights at La Casa Gran in mid-May and loved the charm and laid back pace of both the city and the B&B. Montse and her clan of dogs were a real treat to interact with. The host gave us valuable information of near-by spots to shop, eat, drink or just people watch. When we couldn't find a post...

Staying in Eixample

Neighbourhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
