This hotel was awesome! The location could not have been better. It is centrally located near all kinds of shopping and restaurants. There is a metro station close by also! The rooftop bar had amazing views. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty. And the room was top notch with lots of room and a comfortable bed. I would highly recommend this hotel!!
This is a very nice hotel across the street from the Gothic cathedral. Our room was fine. The staff members were very friendly and helpful, particularly with providing directions and recommendations for dining. They ordered a taxi for us for an early morning flight and the taxi was waiting for us when we came downstairs. The breakfast buffet was outstanding. There were plenty of nearby restaurants.
We loved our stay at Hotel Colon. The location is absolutely perfect--right next to the cathedral and quick walking distance to La Boqueria market, the Gaudi houses, and shopping. The staff was very friendly and accommdating. The rooms were spacious and fit our family of 4 nicely. The views from the rooftop terrace were amazing! We hope to return to Barcelona in the next few years and will definitely stay at Hotel Colon!
I booked this lovely hotel through points through our credit card. We were supposed to have a small balcony facing the cathedral side. When we checked in late on a Saturday night they gave us room 223 facing the back and no balcony. The room also had the bathroom sinks and bathtub open to the room. This area of the bathroom was lifted about 2 inches from the rest of the room with very slick tile. Then the toilet room and shower room were also lifted about 2 inches from that area. Every time I went to use the toilet I either stubbed my toe, or tripped into the room. It was very dangerous. Since this room was not what we had originally booked we asked the hotel staff to find us a different room. They obliged and gave us room 205. It was a lovely room and had a wonderful bed and a lot of room to move around. There were no dangerous 2 inch lifts of any parts of the room, and the bathroom was separate. However, there was an obnoxious sewer gas that comes in through the pipes. It was horrible. There was nothing to do but leave our windows open all day and keep the drains closed as best we could. We were worried that if we asked for another room what worse condition would we get? We wanted to love this hotel. The breakfast is amazing, the staff were amazing, but the rooms we got were very bad.…
My second time as a guest and I give this hotel high marks because of its ideal location , satisfying level of service , great breakfast and very clean and orderly condition of room and overall building. Located near Plaza Catalunya and Rambla it’s ideal for touring the Gothic quarter as well as shopping at Paseo de Gracia. Everything is convenient. The breakfast is superb having lots of cold and hot choices and creating the perfect start to the day. My compliments to Raquel, Manuel and Maritza for excellent service
The rooftop bar is amazing and definitely worth a visit. At sunset the atmosphere and lights of the cathedral, market and panoramic views were added to by the wonderful service from Miguel who was so good we went back to see him again! Thanks Miguel - your service, conversation and recommendations helped make our Barcelona trip unforgettable.
We spent 2 nights with a Cathedral View on the fifth floor and we were very pleased with the exception of the wifi. It was spotty and unpredictable. The room was very comfortable and clean. The shower was great and easy to operate. Only thing missing was a small chest of drawers, if you were staying longer than 2 nights. Maybe a larger room has one. We did not really need it this trip. We found the staff to be EXTREMELY personable and provided great service! They were helpful with providing information and directions. The breakfast buffet was excellent and very pleased for the price we paid for the room. Location is perfect! We will be staying our last night in Barcelona before heading back to the U.S. and have cancelled our last night at another hotel in Barcelona and will be returning to the Hotel Colon! We highly recommend this place. …
The perfect location for enjoying the dragon and festivities. The amazing staff and the presentation of the hotel excellent. Infringe of cathedral and the Artisans’s arts fair for Cxms . The hotel has a incredible restaurant and a 7 floor terrace to watch the hustle and bustle of all the families coming to but our great the music in the streets. I siento recommend.
I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. From the moment we arrived (in mid morning) the staff were efficient and adaptive to our needs. They found us a room for early arrival and allowed us to have their wonderfuo breakfast our first day instead of our last day (as we were leaving too early for it our last day in town.) The staff arranged our reservations at the Sagruda Familia and made arrangemenst for our early (4300 AM departure in a few days). Breakfast was wonderful. Buffet style with champagne, fresh baked goods, french toast, eggs, sausage, bacon, fruits, more baked goods, incredible donuts, salads, meats and cheeses etc. Location!!! Perfectly located across from the cnetral cathedr. A short walk away are La Rambla and other shopping streets and quaint neighborhoods to walk. Do not miss the Boqueria Food hall on La Rambla The square in front of the hotel is a showin itself. Just sit and watch the people go by, the musicians play, the characters interact. Musicians change places every so often and the music with them. There is a great tapas place right next store and many other places to eat and shop nearby. The Room!!! We were on the 5th floor in a big room that faced the cathedral. A balcony over looked the plaza and all the actoivities going on there. There was music and people watching and at 10 o'clock it all subsided and it was quiet enough to sleep withthe window open. We were not able to utilize the rooftop bar and pool but we will be back. This is a good place runby caring and efficient people. Enjoy!…
Me and my partner booked a lovely weekend away in this hotel, so we could enjoy a festive break in the city and visit the Christmas market. We upgraded to the Cathedral View Superior Room and the room view did not disappoint! The Christmas market was right beneath our balcony and of course, looked right out onto the Cathedral, absolutely stunning. I can’t fault the staff, so lovely and helpful when we got there and very attentive and polite when we returned from our days out. The hotel was immaculate and even smelt amazing! Our room was lovely and clean and the bed was really comfortable. I’d definitely recommend to anyone visiting Barcelona, especially with it being in such a perfect location; within walking distance to all of the tourist attractions, and even public transport if you’re wanting to travel further afield.…
