First time travelling alone and I was a bit nervous about it all, but from the moment I walked in the door, I was made to feel welcome and included. The beds were comfy, the staff friendly and engaging, plus there was loads of optional activities put on by the hostel day and night! The inclusion of the evening meal...

First things first, STAY HERE. I promise you will have an unforgettable experience. It was my first time traveling alone so I was a little nervous about making friends at first, by any nerves I had were quickly forgotten the second I walked in. It's basically impossible not to make friends here. The staff are some of the most friendly,...

Not sure where to start, everything about this hostel was absolutely amazing! - Great location near the metro (and furnicular to Montjuis - or you could just walk) and a street with awesome tapas nearby - Clean rooms/bathrooms - awesome day activities and nights out (with good choices of bars/clubs) - great atmosphere in the common area at all times!...

Good location, close to the Sants train station if you are looking to leave on a day trip from there. Accommodations were clean, even though the rooms were on the smaller side (even for a hostel!). Friendly staff, and dinner provided for free at night! Overall, great experience, would stay again.

You're not booking into a hostel, you're gaining a temporary family. I booked only 2 nights and ended up staying 5, and I would still be there if I had time! Book it, book now and don't look back. Great location, facilities, amazing staff, and overall 10/10.

I've been traveling around Europe for a couple months and stayed at a few popular hostel chains like generator, plus, wombat, bulldog, St Christopher's etc. But Hostel One Paralelo has been one of the best experiences by far! The staff is super nice! Jennifer, Maoro (I hope I spelt your name correctly) and everybody else were super warm and went...

Although I've only stayed in one hostel in my life, I already know that Hostel One Paralelo is one of the best in the world. I've now stayed there a couple of times, even bringing along some friends, and both times it has been an equally amazing experience. The staff are the most welcoming and thoughtful people from all over...

The hostel itself is pretty small but very warm and welcoming. The staff are very friendly. We had 4 people in our own private room. It was a little cramped but the bunk beds were a good size. Bathrooms are nice and clean. It is a party hostel so there is a event every night and during the day too...

Stayed with a friend for one night and already felt at home by the time we left. The location is good (a little far from the main tourist sites but in a nice district) and everything was up to our expectations. The staff were fantastic, shout out to Miranda! At night they made dinner for everyone and we all sat...

Staying in Montjuic

Neighbourhood Profile
Montjuic
Beyond the four columns standing guard at the Plaça Espanya, beyond even the extravagant and colourful fountains guiding your way up the boulevard, stands the impressive and towering structure of the Palau Nacional, the national museum. At this very spot in front of the cascades of the central fountain, Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe gave the performance of their lifetimes to welcome the 1992 Olympic Games to this magnificent city. And true to its anticipation, the games transformed the city, reimagining the mountain of Montjuic with the development of an arena, stadium, and many other sporting facilities that are open to visitors year-round. Surrounding the adjacent side of the plaza are well-established hotels catering to business guests and a shopping mall transformed out of a historic bullfighting arena.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The relatively new Hostel One Paralelo opened in 2011 and has received very high ratings from our reviewers ever since. Our guests say the 'cool, friendly and family', with attentive, friendly staff and clean, new and comfortable beds. It's located near Paral·lel metro station, 'super close and convenient to the centre of Barcelona', within walking distance of Placa d'Espanya, La Rambla, Placa Reial and more. We like their free nightly dinners, made by the staff and designed to create a communal family atmosphere. Close Our custom-designed hostel features thick, comfy mattresses, instant and long-lasting 24hr hot water, bright rooms with windows, free Wi-Fi and computers where you can upload your memory cards. We have a fully-equipped kitchen at your disposal. Even better than that is our sunny patio with Jacuzzi and BBQ to rest and chill out from this crazy city. Our TV gets most sports events, from English premier league to NFL, plus a load of new movies. But what will make the difference is our staff - a mixture of residents and travellers with different backgrounds that are happy to help you sort out whatever you need. Between us we've got a maniacal attention to music, improvised Spanish- and Italian-style dinners, BBQs and crazy and innovative outdoor activities so you can discover our city from a new point of view. Feel at home far from home!! ... more   less
