Fantastic social hostel, the free diners were great, the location was pretty good. The staff were awesome they're so helpful, friendly and so much fun! They take you out every night so it's perfect if you are a solo traveler. However the no age limit wasn't great, a 65-70 year old man stayed in my room.. a little strange. The atmosphere... More

What can I say? The location is great (within walking distance of most touristy spots), the staff is great, the activities are great, the community feeling in the hostel is superb and a great value for money. Free walking tours, free dinners, reasonably priced booze and hosting great parties every night makes this place even better. I would like to... More

This Hostel is simply amazing. The layout of the place (with common area, and outdoor back patio) just creates a very fun and social environment, and by 7pm many people are downstairs having beers and getting to know each other. The hostel also has a day activity and night activity planned for every I was there. The night part of... More

Loved my stay at hostel one paralelo! The staff are more than awesome and friendly and this promotes a really good vibe in the common areas. I would have given this place 5 stars but the bathroom smelled pretty bad and the showers were not so clean. It's a pity bec the shower itself was pretty nice. Overall a great... More

It's uncommon to stay at a hostel that truly makes you feel at home and welcomed. In my experience it's happened very few times and Hostel Ones amazing staff is responsible for that feeling on my recent stay. From the moment I walked in (4 hours before my check in) I was greeted and helped by Moya (5 stars to... More

Staying in Montjuic

Neighbourhood Profile
Montjuic
Beyond the four columns standing guard at the Plaça Espanya, beyond even the extravagant and colourful fountains guiding your way up the boulevard, stands the impressive and towering structure of the Palau Nacional, the national museum. At this very spot in front of the cascades of the central fountain, Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe gave the performance of their lifetimes to welcome the 1992 Olympic Games to this magnificent city. And true to its anticipation, the games transformed the city, reimagining the mountain of Montjuic with the development of an arena, stadium, and many other sporting facilities that are open to visitors year-round. Surrounding the adjacent side of the plaza are well-established hotels catering to business guests and a shopping mall transformed out of a historic bullfighting arena.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The relatively new Hostel One Paralelo opened in 2011 and has received very high ratings from our reviewers ever since. Our guests say the 'cool, friendly and family', with attentive, friendly staff and clean, new and comfortable beds. It's located near Paral·lel metro station, 'super close and convenient to the centre of Barcelona', within walking distance of Placa d'Espanya, La Rambla, Placa Reial and more. We like their free nightly dinners, made by the staff and designed to create a communal family atmosphere. Close Our custom-designed hostel features thick, comfy mattresses, instant and long-lasting 24hr hot water, bright rooms with windows, free Wi-Fi and computers where you can upload your memory cards. We have a fully-equipped kitchen at your disposal. Even better than that is our sunny patio with Jacuzzi and BBQ to rest and chill out from this crazy city. Our TV gets most sports events, from English premier league to NFL, plus a load of new movies. But what will make the difference is our staff - a mixture of residents and travellers with different backgrounds that are happy to help you sort out whatever you need. Between us we've got a maniacal attention to music, improvised Spanish- and Italian-style dinners, BBQs and crazy and innovative outdoor activities so you can discover our city from a new point of view. Feel at home far from home!! ... more   less
