We spent 2 nights at the Tryp Barcelona Apolo. The people at the reception were very friendly and helpful, the room was big, comfortable and already available at 11 am. The hotel is in walking distance to the sea, to Las Ramblas, and to the metro with 2 lines. Breakfast was good with lots of choices. Minor disadvantage: it was...

This hotel was perfectly situated for a first time visitor to Barcelona. It was easy to access all areas of the city. Hotel, clean, room very good. Breakfast was extremely good value. The cafe attached to he hotel had a good menu and gave good value for money.

The hotel is 50m away from metro and bus stops from where you can explore easily the whole city. Rambla and Gothic quarter are in walking distance. I like this hotel as they offer good services at reasonable prices. Large rooms, totally clean. They even included Wi-Fi connections which was not the case in the past. Vast selection of the...

Had an extra night in Barcelona due to technical aircraft problems. Veurling booked me to Tryp Airport Hotel with free lunch and dinner. The lunch was awful. Totally abused salmon. Actually the worst I've had for years. And the dinner was the second worst meal: pork with potato and sauce. The room was okay and the noise from highway as...

We stayed at this hotel at the end of our cruise since we had an early flight the next morning and wanted to be near the airport. If you want to be within a short walking distance to the various sites and restaurants, I would not recommend this hotel. If you just need to rest and get ready for an...

We stayed at the Tryp Barcelona Apolo for a short break in October. I cannot say enough good about the hotel and the staff. This is a city hotel, so if you're looking for quietness, this is not it. We had to change rooms after the first night because of a noisy party keeping us awake. This was not the...

The location was good for our needs. Aprox 15- 20 minutes walking distance to La Rambla. There are plenty restaurants and metro near the hotel. The breakfast was very good and the rooms were nice and clean. Just be careful some DOUBLE ROOMS are not adequate for two people stay. After we complained they changed our room next day. Overall...

Stayed here at the end of November 2012. The room was quite large and very clean although there were a few cracks in the bathroom. Nothing major though. The room overlooked the main road but this wasnt a problem. Very comfortable beds and the service at breakfast was excellent.

We found the TRYP hotel a good place to stay. The breakfast was nice and the bed very comfortable. There was plenty of hot water and the cleaniness of the room was very good. The Metro was about 50 mtrs along the road which was extreemly convenient.

In the airport hotel breed this is average. Nice check in process and lobby atmosphere. Room is okay. Bed is quite horribly firm. Airport shuttle service worked for us.... If I were to return I would choose a different airport hotel but I am not going to knock this one until I have checked out the other BCN airport options.

Staying in Montjuic

Neighbourhood Profile
Montjuic
Beyond the four columns standing guard at the Plaça Espanya, beyond even the extravagant and colourful fountains guiding your way up the boulevard, stands the impressive and towering structure of the Palau Nacional, the national museum. At this very spot in front of the cascades of the central fountain, Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe gave the performance of their lifetimes to welcome the 1992 Olympic Games to this magnificent city. And true to its anticipation, the games transformed the city, reimagining the mountain of Montjuic with the development of an arena, stadium, and many other sporting facilities that are open to visitors year-round. Surrounding the adjacent side of the plaza are well-established hotels catering to business guests and a shopping mall transformed out of a historic bullfighting arena.
