I'm just back from an amazing stay in Barcelona. I stayed in the Santa Marta hotel and I couldn't recommend it enough. Its perfectly located with a metro station close by which is really convenient. The hotel is so clean and modern and the rooms are lovely. Staff are really helpful and friendly too. I will definitely stay here again!

Booked 4 nights in this hotel for 2 persons. Room was on the smallish side but more than adequate unless you want to spend your day in the hotel room. Beds & pillows were very comfortable. Shower good size and water pressure excellent. Only drawback in room is the heat. Switched off central heating and it was still very hot....

I had a wonderful stay in this hotel this week as it was so great to return there after a good day out. The staff, location and standard of the hotel was very good and I really enjoyed my stay and I will return on my next visit.

When we arrived to this hotel, it has a vibe of hostel more than hotel. Blankets on the beds are worn and old. Pillows were old and flat, and the beds are totally not comfy at all. On the thurd and last night of our stay, two groups of noisy teenagers were running around the hallway, slamming doors shut multiple...

We stayed at the Santa Marta hotel for 5 days. The location is amazing, two minutes walk to the metro, 5 min walk to the beach, the Picasso muses is right there. Many restaurants near by and super markets for snacks. The room was just as advertised, basic but nice and modern, with a big bathroom. The room and the...

Spent a night at the Santa Marta for a two day trip of Barcelona. The hotel is located just a few hundred yards from Barceloneta Metro Station although it is tucked away down a side street but once you find it it's easy to remember how to get to and from the metro to the hotel. Room was small but...

We were a group of 10 ladies away for a hen weekend. The hotel was very modern, the rooms we spacious and clean. The hotel is 10 minutes walk from Las Rambla and close to the gothic quarter. We found it fantastic value for money and would have rated it a good 3 star, planning to go back with hubby...

My first stay in Barcelona, staff were always pleasant and accommodating to most requests. Rooms are quite small, but acceptable if you spend the day out touring. You'll also need to pay a local tax of about €1. I would certainly recommend a stay here, it would appear the hotel has undergone a recent refurbishment. Gracias

My family trip to this lovely city was marred by a theft from the front desk of this hotel. I was speaking to the manager with my back turned to the sofa two feet away and two men outside the hotel simply walked in one door and out the other just 10 metres away but by the time I turned...

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighbourhood Profile
Barceloneta
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.

“I chose a standard room I thought it was a double room. But as a two star hotel it was two single beds, make sure of this before booking.”
