Not sure how I ended up here, it's quite a bit more than I usually spend for my weekends away, however I was still impressed with the price considering it's location. I think we must have been in a recently refurbished room, I was very impressed with the modern look they had gone for. A great shower and I liked...

I'm really not sure why this hotel isn't higher up the ratings. It's in the perfect location and has undergone a renovation since I previously stayed there so is very nicely appointed. Few points why I didn't rate it a 5: 1) Breakfast - no sign of any fresh fruit, just horrible tinned fruit. When you see the abundance of...

Hotel is located close to the Ramblas and metro at a little square. Good rooms and good breakfast. I found the bed too firm for a perfect sleep. And sometimes we could hear the voices and other noise from the rooms next to ours too loud. However a good place to stay.

We stayed here for 4 nights in early March. Room 360 was lovely, with the old monastery feature walls. Comfortable bed, clean and reasonably spacious room. Nice modern shower. A little noisy with the windows open as they are renovating the placa in front of the hotel. Continental breakfast is included- sweet pastries, toast, jam, cold meats, cheese, bread rolls, cereals,...

The receptionist was very blunt and clearly did not want to be there. We had booked a double room and when arrived has 2 single beds, the receptionist told us that there was nothing that could be done, it was a room for 2 people and they can't guarantee double beds. Having paid and booked a double room that is...

Lovely hotel just off La Rambla. Very clean and modern inside. We had a triple room on the first floor which contained wrap around balcony. Fantastic shower and very good hairdryer. Plenty of sockets for charging mobile (cell) phones and other devices. Typical continental breakfast- tea, coffee, chilled juice, croissants, rolls, meat and cheese etc. Also have frankfurter style sausages...

Just returned from a 4 night stay in this Hotel, in a quiet location just 2 mins walk in a little square off Las Ramblas. Very central. 5 mins walk to the port, 2 mins to the metro, lots of bars and restaurants. We walked to almost all sights within the local area with ease as Las Rmblas is pedestrianized....

Well located close to La Rambla and the metro station making a relatively easy journey from the airport to the hotel. The room was small and cosy. Had a good view across the square. Seems the rooms are not standard sizes as you would get in a modern hotel so a bit of pot luck on the size. Disappointing we...

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
