Don't look for luxury here - bring your own shampoo/shower gel etc. - room we had was spacious and very clean. If you like quirky - lots of character, antique furniture, an impressive stone staircase and an old caged lift - then you would enjoy your stay here - I did. Good location, central but still a quiet area.

Hostal Girona is one of those places you feel at home! Location is perfect - walking distance from Gan Via, Passeig de Gracia, Parc de la Ciutadella and three blocks from the subway. Owners are lovelly and are usually there to help you with anything. Bathrooms in the rooms are not that big, but when you are in a leisure...

Hostel is just 10mins walk from Placa Catalunya, the very heart of Barcelona for tourists. Also it is up to 15 mins walk from Estacio del Norte - North station to which busses from Girona airport arrive. That's very convenient for those, who travel with Ryanair to Girona and then to Barcelona. Even on your way from North station to...

spacious rooms, fairly central but not too much in the hub of the city. Relaxed atmosphere, comfortable beds, an excellent choice!

A quiet street but just four blocks from the heart of the city, Plaza de Catalunya, so location is very good indeed. The hotel is clean and the owners/staff are charming and helpful. But my room (n° 1) was located right by their living quarters so I was kept awake on the first night by the talk and a child...

This hotel is situated in a beautiful and very original house in the L'Eixample district of Barcelona. The area is rather quiet but a walking distance from all the important spots and not far from an underground station. The rooms are clean, and contrary to what I had read before on other reviews there were no bed bugs! So much...

Before I launch into the bad and why you should not stay here, let me say that the owners are delightful and helpful people and they leave you with a set of keys so you do not have to bother buzzing and can come and go at your leisure. That's the only positive thing I have to say about this...

This hotel is wonderful. I would recommend it to everyone. The price was great and the inside of the hotel is beautifully decorated. The location is fantastic (walking distance to La Rambla). The rooms are a bit small and the toilets are down the hall, but we had a shower and sink in our room.

I stayed here for two nights. The first night I had a room that smelled musty and I woke up scratching because I was getting eaten by bugs. I have never slept in a bed with bed bugs before.. but I had these red itchy spots on my legs and bottom. When I got home my boyfriend said they were...

Very nice building, the owners rent out the second floor of a commercial/residential building so there are always people coming in and out. The owners were very polite, however were not exceptionally special or anything. When we asked them for help regarding laundry they were not that helpful (MAKE SURE YOU do your laundry BEFORE Barcelona or save it do...

Staying in Eixample

Neighbourhood Profile
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
