Stayed at Hotel Duquesa de Cardona for the 5th time in February and it is good to see that the hotel maintains its standards. The rooms are clean, comfortable and we have never found them to be excessively noisy even when we stayed in marina facing rooms. The roof bar is nice at night for a drink before dinner in the old town. The staff are professional in every respect and will be as helpful as you need them to be. Marta the hotel manager will assist in group bookings and ensures that alll guests have the perfect stay. We always go in low season and have never found the hotel or Barcelona too busy but the weather has always been great for us in the 16-20 range in the months of December and February. The hotels location is good for the beach, old town or Las Ramblas is ideal for a city break away from the colder and wet climate of the UK..

I stayed here with family to celebrate my birthday. We could not have chosen a better location for making the most of a few days in Barcelona. We could easily walk to the Gothic Quarter, Las Ramblas, the harbour area and the beach. The staff were very professional and helpful, especially when our flight was cancelled and we had to stay an extra night. We had a family room overlooking the port, which was spacious, very clean and comfortable. Although our room was facing the road, we did not have any issues with noise. The bathroom area was lovely with both a bathroom and a separate shower area. The room had every amenity including a fridge, safe, kettle, plenty of toiletries and slippers. On arrival there was a chilled bottle of sparkling wine and chocolate cake in the room as well as bottled water, which was a nice surprise. The breakfast was pretty good, with your choice of eggs cooked to order in addition to the hot and cold buffets. The hotel has a lovely roof terrace with a bar which has great views. The roof bar was not open in the evenings while we were there, probably as it was a bit chilly in the evening and the hotel was quite quiet in early February. There is also a plunge pool on the roof, too small for lengths, but good to cool off in when the weather is warmer. I would definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends and would not hesitate to stay here again as it would be hard to find a better location in Barcelona if you want to be central to everything. For a truly relaxing experience, book a session including a massage, at the Aire Ancient baths (a series of candlelit underground pools of different temperatures) which are within walking distance of the hotel. Thank you to the staff of the Duquesa de Cardona for a very enjoyable and comfortable stay.

We just spent a weekend in Barcelona and one of the highlights was how good a hotel we had chosen. We had let the hotel know we were celebrating a hen do and each room had a free bottle of cava in it and Macaroons which was a perfect start. The location is brilliant, 5 mins walk to las Ramblas and if you walk another 5 mins adjacent you go to the port restaurants which are brilliant, we ate in Terrazzo Revello which I highly recommend if you want an Italian.
Tips; although we never felt unsafe you must be so vigilant with your bags, when you’re out and in restaurants too.
If you don’t choose breakfast at the hotel which I heard was great, try Milk bistro a five minute walk away, you cannot reserve, if there’s a que you put your name down, we waited 20 mins and it was worth every one of them.
Overall we all felt so happy to be at the Hotel Duquesa de Cardona and would stay again.

We spotted this hotel when we were booking pre Christmas for our latest holiday. Primarily the location stood out as we haven’t stayed in this area before and it is in short walking distance from our favourite areas/places in Barcelona, including El Born, Gothic Quarter etc. Arrived and immediately we were impressed by the beautiful building and outlook onto the marina/dock area. Service throughout our stay in this hotel was excellent and probably the best we have experienced in Barcelona so far. The lady at the front desk even recognised it would be my birthday during the trip which was a nice touch. We must call our Marta who works on reception - she is excellent and very friendly and great at her job. The room was excellent and we did get a free upgrade as well, with great views across the marina etc. This was particularly great when we got to watch the storm on the first 2 days whilst tucked away in the evening on the room. Overall the room was excellent with great facilities. On my birthday in the second day we also discovered a free bottle of sparking wine and cake! What a great touch. The bar was also lovely and again the service was excellent at all times, as well as the front door service, which was also brilliant. We couldn’t fault this hotel and would highly recommended it to anyone staying in Barcelona in the future. We will be back!! Thank you for a great stay.

We spend 4 nights in this great Hotel. The Hotel is located right in the center of everything, close to the city center, close to the beach and if you’re in need of a taxi there are enough passing by to stop.
We arrived early in the morning so staff really expedited our room and even gave us an upgrade on the room. The room was big enough and clean with a fully stocked bathroom. Although next to the street the room was quiet with a quiet airconditioning which kept the room cool.
The roof terras is a nice place to end the evening with a coffee or something stronger before going to sleep.
All staff is friendly and helpful.
I really would recommend the hotel and would reserve it again when visiting Barcelona.

Great location you get to enjoy old and new part of Barcelona. I would recommend taking a taxi from Airport (15min $30) instead of bus and train and walk 10min with luggage. Front desk, bellman and staff at breakfast were amazing. They get great reviews because of them. Our room was very nice even facing the busy road and could hear noise, but it was not bad. Bed and pillow were uncomfortable at least to me. I was surprised they didn't have a coffee machine or refrigerator. Housekeeping didn't restock instant coffee tea water or soap. Are they expecting guest to call front desk for it? Breakfast was great I liked that they spread them out so no line to get food and it was relaxing. They don't offer cappuccino or espresso but lukewarm coffee. I stayed at 2 other hotels on this trip in Spain which were cheaper and had better amenities. 4 star is because of staff who are professional but approachable. They were always ready to help and seemed to enjoy what they do.

My first visit to Barcelona went exceptionally well in great part thanks to having stayed at Duquesa de Cardona. Reasons:
Well situated to either walk around the gothic style old city or to grab transportation. I recommend using Free Now to get around town, an app that has the advantages of Uber but uses local taxis. There is no Uber/Lyft in Barcelona period. I went to the Fira daily taking me 20 mins to get there and 40 to get back as traffic accumulates late afternoons.
A big bottle of water and a bottle of cava on ice awaited me in the room the first day
Breakfast is varied and fresh, I ordered omelette most days. Fresh OJ
Rooms are modern, clean and quiet
The staff is friendly and accommodating
The lobby/bar has ambiance at night

Arrived quite early. They got the room ready an hour after our arrival and before the check in time. We had a standard room however Marta gave us a free upgrade to a premium room which was amazing and upon entry of the room we had a bottle of Champagne in a bucket of ice waiting for us and complimentary from the hotel. David was very helpful towards us during our stay in Barcelona. The hotel was very clean. The rooftop pool was great. They have 2. The hotel is roughly 10/15 mins away from the beach and same for los ramblas and the shopping centres and areas. Loads of restaurants nearby and next to the hotel. Overall a great stay so thank you very much

When I booked this hotel, Barcelona was expecting over 100,000 people for the annual mobile phone conference and frankly, this was one of the only well-reviewed properties still available. My expectations were tempered due to the proximity to Las Ramblas, but this hotel exceeded them all. The room was exceptionally well designed and comfortable. To a person, the staff was superb and managed to anticipate all of my needs. Breakfast was also way above the norm (even for a fine hotel) and the staff were prompt and professional. Highly recommended to all!

We loved this hotel. The location is great - just a few minutes away from La Rambla and the gothic quarter but looking straight over the port.

Our room was upgraded to one with a balcony. There was a bottle of chilled cava waiting for us. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom had everything we needed (including a decent hairdryer and fog-free mirrors).

The hotel invites you for a free glass of cava in the evenings in the stylish Piano Bar and there are complimentary coffee and snacks all afternoon. But the absolute jewel in the crown is the rooftop bar.

We spent several hours chilling out there with a bottle of rose wine and nibbles. There's a small plunge pool, but really this space is all about relaxing.

I can't praise the staff enough. They were all friendly and welcoming. We asked for recommendations for bars and restaurants and were given some brilliant tips. I lost a pair of sunglasses and they even went back to a restaurant to look for them for me.

We'll definitely be back!

I’m absolutely sure the hotel will organise a taxi, they will also advise how long the journey will take depending on the traffic. The staff are very helpful.

There are taxi’s right outside the airport. We took one to the hotel. It was quick and easy ! I don’t recall how much the taxi cost. They don’t have a free shuttle. I initially paid for shuttle transport that they recommended but due to our late arrival we missed the scheduled shuttle.
