The hostel has all the basic amenties you require - clean beds and toilets, large lockers in the room, free fast wifi in rooms, towels for rent and convenient location. they also organise pub crawls and give out free maps of the city which is perfect.

Stayed in 10 bed dorm. Security is excellent with key card lockers. Location is 5 min from las Ramblas. Staff are helpful and friendly and speak English :-) shower in our room was broken but it had hot water. Shared showers were good.

Visited in April 2015, stayed for 6 nights in apartments, that's in another building, which is closer to la Rambla. Apartments are in separate building, felt like we were renting it from owners cuz there were no reception, we just had a card to enter a building, was very interesting experience!) Room was clean and everything worked. But one day...

My friend and me stayed in the be mar hostel for 1 week. Location is great, but first of all they don´t announce the 7,5% tax for hostels in Barcelona, so prepare to pay more than they promise online! Also we booked the same room for the whole time, cause we didn´t want to move. They made us move anyways...

Stayed at the Be Mar as part of a Stag Do, hostel was clean with free WiFi throughout. Is in a good location only a short walk from Bars and Restaurants, if you are looking for somewhere just to get your head down would recommend it. But if you want anything more would look elsewhere.

In a way it reminded me of a swimming pool facility (minus the pool). Everywhere was tiled and clean, but the toilet cubicles were very small and made me feel a bit claustrophobic, it also got very hot in the toilets due to bad ventilation. Other than this everything else was good. It was very close to La Rambla (main...

Stayed for 2 nights in the 1 bedroom apartment which was located a few minutes walk away from the hostel itself. The room itself was large, bathroom clean and ample hot water. Our rooms were cleaned daily. The apartment also contained a small kitchenette with a fridge. The apartment is located in a street/alley and a few minutes walk from...

We stayed a couple nights, and were in a six bed dorm. Didn't feel crunched for space, and had huge lockers where you can even stuff you entire backpack! We really didn't spend much time in the hostel itself apart from freshening up and to tuck in at night! Clean large bathing areas with hot water, free wifi, warm cosy...

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
