Clean and comfortable room, but bathroom needs an upgrade. Breakfast was outstanding the 3 days spent there and they tell you to take your time i.e. don't rush.
Close to subway and train station which makes easy to go downtown or anywhere else.More

Regarding your question about the metro, it depends on the season and the time. Usually it's busier the morning and the evening (when people go to work and come back).
In summer as it's the high season it's pretty busy, as well as all the big cities.
To go to the old quarter, you can take the green line (L3) from Sants Estación, and you can stop at Liceu. It's about 15 minutes by metro.
September is a good month to come to Barcelona. Regarding the availability, it's complicated to tell you but it should be still busy, there is not a better time.

On the other hand, the Hotel is a walking distance (about 7 minutes walking) from "Plaza de Espanya".
As well in the Hotel we will give you tips on touristic attractions and restaurants.
