The Pulitzer Barcelona emerges as a trendy urban oasis, with a lively atmosphere that has enchanted many guests, though a handful find the music at times too loud. The hotel's cleanliness and modern amenities earn consistent praise, with particular appreciation for the immaculate rooms and rooftop terrace. While the spacious accommodations impress numerous travelers, some mention noise issues and room size as drawbacks.
Opinions on value and service vary, with kudos for the affordable breakfast and elegant amenities, countered by critiques of thin walls and occasional service lapses at the bar. The central location, with easy access to attractions and public transport, is widely celebrated by guests.

We visited in late August and stayed 5 nights in the large suite on the 5th floor. It was our second time to vacation in Barcelona. The first was in 2017, and we loved everything about the Pulitzer then that we had no doubt we wanted to stay there again.
First, the suite: It has been renovated recently, and everything about it is splendid. So luxurious, with a huge balcony where I did my work as a writer early each day. The bed is as comfortable as home and the bathroom is like being at a high-end spa. On Day 1, the hotel management had a bottle of Cava and sweet treats brought to our room - such a nice surpirise.
Breakfast in the downstairs cafe is as fine a spread we've experienced anywhere. Everyone on the staff was so helpful and gracious, right down to the 18 year-old college intern who served us tapas in the bar one evening.
The Pulitzer's location is pefect for us, a block from Placa Catalunya and on the periphery of the Gothic Quarter that we love to explore. A short walk in any direction takes you to one of dozens of very nice restaurants and cafes, most of which offer outdoor dining where you can enjoy the constantly changing street scenes with dinner.
We are already making plans to visit Barcelona again in 2026, and will without question be returning to our home away from home again.

Well located near La Rombla. Clean rooms and would recommend they have a stick on bathmat be placed in bathtub. Can be slippery for older people- or anyone! Good facilities - nice having body lotion as part of the bathroom collection. Good staff who held onto a bag for me that I accidently left on checking out. Warm thanks!

My sister and I spent nine consecutive nights here and felt very "at home". We chose a hotel over an ABnb or VRBO because we weren't familiar with Barcelona and wanted a concierge service and a lounge. The Pulitzer didn't disappoint, in fact they excelled. My sister is a writer and an artist, they immediately moved a desk into our room to accommodate her. The housekeeping staff and front desk assistance are very responsive. If you need something , they are there in a matter of minutes. The hotel hosted three private events while we were there so the dining room was closed but the lounge is very large with many private "living rooms". Food is served from the kitchen if you choose to enjoy a quiet evening in the hotel outside your room. We would have enjoyed a nightcap on the rooftop bar but it is not for seniors. The music is blasting, (we could hear it in our room on the 4th floor) but it stops at 11pm. Lovely hotel, superb location, I would highly recommend.

This was our second stay at Hotel Pulitzer in Barcelona and we had a wonderful experience. On our first trip in 2019, we stayed in one of the smaller rooms which was comfortable and well appointed with everything you might need during a visit, and this summer, we stayed in a terrace suite which was absolutely exquisite. The staff was attentive and welcoming, and the room was clean, spacious, and thoughtfully laid out. The terrace was incredible with two sun beds, an outdoor shower, and retractable shades. The bathroom in our suite was really beautiful- a rainfall shower and a bathtub, plus a separate toilet area for privacy. When it came time to check out, I wasn’t ready to leave! The room was also quiet, the bed was extremely comfortable, and the pillows were good too. The only critique I really have to offer about our stays (this time and last time) is that the breakfast buffet / offering is very limited. Fortunately, this hotel is well located just by the Ramblas, the gothic quarter, and eixample, so any food option you could possibly desire is just a short walk out the front doors. I will absolutely stay here again and cannot recommend it enough.

Alba and the entire staff made for a wonderful trip filled with lifelong memories. Start to finish it exceeded our expectations.
The location could not have been better and allowed us to walk everywhere. One block closer to La Rambla or the Placa would have been too busy and too loud but as soon as we turned the corner we enjoyed tranquility.
Upon arrival, the front desk staff could not have been more professional, polite, or helpful. Even when we had issues with our rental car reservation, your staff was quick to provide a solution, and even have the car delivered directly to the hotel.
The housekeeping staff was so prompt and thorough yet did it in a way that made them almost invisible.
The breakfast was amazing and became a favorite part of our day. The selection of food and freshly made eggs could not have been better. The servers were welcoming and had such a sunny personality. What a way to start the day! My only feedback would be that it took a little too long to get coffee and one day our order was forgotten and probably took 30 minutes to arrive.
We also had an opportunity to enjoy the bar or and even ate dinner there one night.
We tried to visit the sixth floor rooftop bar, but it was way too much of a party for us old folks.
We would love to come back and visit again and will always recommend The Pulitzer.

The hotel is located in a perfect spot. 3 minute walk from the Aerobus stop, 3 minute walk to the top of the Ramblas, 50 minute walk to Sagrada Familia and 30 minute walk down to the port area. You could walk to Park Guell (70 mins) but it's all uphill, especially the last half mile which is very steep. We got a taxi for 15 Euro from the taxi rank opposite the hotel. Note - after 17:00 taxis don't tend to stop here so better walking up to the end of the street and hailing one. The hotel has a very chilled atmosphere. The staff are relaxed and friendly, the bar area is at the bottom of an atrium but still feels quite intimate with relaxing areas to rest your weary legs after a day walking around the city. We stayed in a room with a balcony. The balcony is very small and not somewhere you could sit and relax with a coffee. It also looks out onto the side street fronting the hotel. The room is very comfortable with a decent sized bathroom including a very nice shower over the bath. Very large bed with quite a firm mattress, which was OK for us. The roof top terrace is a nice area, however very lively on a DJ night. Advisable to book a table in advance. A minor gripe, the room doesn't have an iron and despite requesting one from reception twice, one never appeared The breakfast selection is great from bacon, eggs mushrooms to continental and cereals with yoghurt/honey. They will also cook your eggs to order. A coffee machine is available for Lattes, cappuccinos etc.
All in all a great base from which to explore Barcelona.

Dear Jaysez, Thank you for your detailed and insightful review! We're delighted to hear that our hotel's location contributed to a convenient and enjoyable stay in Barcelona. We are glad you enjoyed the chilled atmosphere and found our staff friendly and relaxed. It's great that the bar area provided a comfortable place to relax after a long day of sightseeing. We apologize for the inconvenience of not receiving an iron despite your requests. This is not the standard of service we aim for, and we will work to improve our service. Thanks for highlighting our comfortable room, breakfast selection, and rooftop terrace. We are pleased that you found our hotel a great base for exploring the city, and we hope to welcome you back in the future! Sincerely, Sara Vas Hotel Manager

Lovely hotel. So tastefully decorated, warm colors and natural materials. Friendly staff, helpful with questions. Water tap in the hallway, you can fill your water bottle with. Also free Nespresso coffee and tea in the room. The hotel is super central. The aerobus from the airport stops at 2 min walk. Everything within walking distance to reach. Free floor plan at reception. If the room is not ready yet, you can store your suitcase at the reception. The bustle but also the quiet neighborhoods within easy reach. Hop on hop off (if you like) stop 2 minutes from the hotel. We were there in the first weekend of December, then the city is converted to Christmas. So beautiful, beautiful lights everywhere in the city.

I actually travelled in April 2021, when we were all still negotiating Covid. Barcelona exceeded my expectations and so did the Hotel Pulitzer which my daughter had previously stayed in and recommended. The location was excellent, set in a quieter side street just off the main drag meant it felt more peaceful than it should have. It was a breeze to walk to the main sights from here. The staff were extremely friendly and professional, the public areas were really lovely, particularly the bar and breakfast area. Rooms in Barcelona are small so we booked a deluxe room which turned out to be really nice. The hotel has an unusual atmosphere in that it feels more like a private club you have been lucky enough to be invited to rather than an impersonal hotel. Breakfast was delicious very morning, with plenty of choice, and was worth including in the room rate. I would come back to this hotel in a heartbeat -the only thing I din't like was the sparkling water they served in the bar which is a 'healthy' water served in many places in Barcelona and which is really vile. So please, bar staff, serve an alternative sparkling water to guests and be prepared for me to move in full-time!

My husband and I just returned from Barcelona where we spent 7 nights at this hotel. Our room was lovely with comfortable beds. An early check in request was accommodated which was great since we were so exhausted. The location is very convenient to so many sites and it is easy to get a taxi or metro service at any time. All of the front desk staff were amazing, but I want to recognize both Sandro Comilo and Christian Ferrao who were so helpful and always pleasant when responding to all of our requests and questions. I would definitely recommend this hotel if visiting Barcelona.

Booked direct with the hotel due to ‘promised’ benefits: free room upgrade, 10% bar discount etc. none of these so called benefits were available, we were told that bar discount did not apply to hotel bar on rooftop! Disastrous breakfast, hot food placed on hot plate, that was broken, hence food lukewarm. This situation was not rectified for the four nights that we stayed! We were refunded one breakfast, after much discussion but the other three we paid €16 each for a very poor experience. I have never before stayed in a hotel that charged €1.50 per nespresso coffee pod for a machine in your hotel room, you were given 4 complimentary pods per stay (not per day)! Receptionist Juan, told me he did not know any contact details for the hotel owner when I requested them, and I could not contact them directly, I would have to contact them via reception. The staff in general (apart from 2 managers) were quite rude and dismissive and hospitality does not seem to be there calling. We were a group of 8 and hence spent quite a lot of money at the hotel for our stay. There are a multitude of hotels close by, any of which I would choose next time over the Pulitzer.
