The place was dirty to begin with. The beds were terrible, much on the edges like you're going to fall off. The AC was broken and the host took 2 days to rectify the problem. My whole family had to sleep in 1 bed for 2 nights because the place was an oven. One door to outside didn't close all...

G and G rooms in Barcelona was the worst place I have ever stayed and the worst experience of a hotel stay in 25 years of travel. Avoid staying here! It was an unprofessional and unpleasant booking-in process. There was incorrect signage in the foyer (name in board said 2nd floor - we ended up eventually finding them on 6th...

I travel a lot and have spent many nights for the last 20 years in hotel rooms and apartments. This time I was travelling with my wife, a writer, who was having her books translated and published in Spain. We decided on G&G via Booking.com and were asked for our credit card details as security. No money would be deducted....

Very well located. We could walk to everywhere in the city center! The toilet was very clean (and the room as well). The toilet was outside the room (just as advertised - so we were expecting that!) - everything in the room was as advertised! It's a bit noisy, which didn't bothered me at all!

I had booked in advance as we arrived, they claimed that the apartment had got a water damage, but they had another apartment not far away. It turned out to be far away and it was in very poor condition. I am sure they have over booked. I canceled then my reservation with Booking.com and find another Hotel.

This place has an incredibly strategic position in the city: close to Born, Barceloneta and Plaza Catalunya (walking distance). Staff is very kind and rooms are pretty and cozy. It's perfect for friends groups.

Just OK; not a fan. Clean bed, no frills no bathroom amenities and shower head/spray is broken. The street noise can be very annoying due to party-ers coming fr Las Ramblas. Slow wi-fi...but, conveniently situated w/in close proximity to shops, tapas, and sights of interest and off the beaten path from tourist traps.

The room was nice and clean, with a big flat screen tv and a small fridge. The bathroom is outside the room, and while it is a private bathroom it's still a bit inconvenient. There is no reception, it is a large apartment in a residential/commercial building and you have to call them and make an arrangement to meet, which...

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighbourhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighbourhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
