I stayed here two nights while on a short trip to Barcelona while touring Europe. It is located in a great location but could be a bit hard to find. It is a very short walk from the Jaume I metro station and it would help if there was a better map to get there from the metro as it... More

Spend two nights in a very comfortable and spacious apartment like room with two bedrooms, à kitchenette and magnificent tall ceilings and windows! As with so many hotels (4&5 star) it could do with some maintenance, two of the lights in the room didn't work, the kitchenette doors were in their hinges, the freezer front panel no longer connected to... TripAdvisor ratings for this property were excellent and thus, I booked here for 6 nights. Day one was horrendous, due to the almost hostile attitude of the front desk person named Carla. I do not know what her problem was but a person at the front desk is the first person you see and should set the tone for you... More

Visited for 1 night in October having stayed at the main Mercer hotel last year and enjoyed that so much. This is much smaller, a bit older and doesn't have the same amenities but we knew that going in and it is much cheaper. Location is fantastic for a short stay, very central, but do bring earplugs because this does... More

We stayed here for 4 nights and would highly recommend staying here. It's right in the Gothic Quarter, 15 walk from the beach and the city park and about 30 minutes walk from Sagrada Família. The hotel room was like an apartment with a bedroom, living room area, small balcony and kitchen. The decor and amenities were really nice. The... More

Given how much character Barcelona has, and especially the Gothic Quarter, it is slightly disappointing that this boutique hotel does not fully seize the opportunity to display a little more flavour of the city, one way or another, but is really a little generic. It is however clean and has good service.

The hotel is smack dab in the middle of the Gothic Quarter. It's a very short walk from the Barcelona Cathedral, the Picasso Museum, and an awesome city park. The staff was super helpful and as a bonus, it's surrounded by places to grab tapas. Word to the wise: It's a little hard to see when you arrive, so make... More

We only had one night, unfortunately, but this was the perfect place to spend it. Very roomy, well-appointed, complimentary bottled water. Very accommodating staff. We had to catch our flight before breakfast opened, so the hotel offered to bring complimentary coffee and fruit to our room at a time convenient to us. As well, since we had been on a... More

The location was ideal, the breakfast was excellent, and our suite was spacious and attractive. Unfortunately, the air conditioner was not very powerful and had a tendency to shut itself off in the middle of the night; meaning that we didn't get the best sleep in August. The design of the bathroom was also rather odd. Overall, the vibe was... More

This place was awesome! We loved it since the moment we walked in. Very spacious, the location is great a lot of stores at walking distance, close to the Metro. Very clean, and the decoration was great. We stayed for a day and they were very kind to hold our bags while we ventured to the city before the room... More

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighbourhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighbourhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
