We stayed at the Ciudadela for a couple of nights at the end of September. Excellent location right next to the Gothic quarter and an easy walk to the Ramblas and the beach. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Double room a bit small but pleasant and very clean with nice en-suite. Barcelona itself is a beautiful city and we... More

We spent 4 nights in beginning of May 08 in this hotel. Location is really good : around 30 minutes walk to the Ramblas, 20 minutes to Barceloneta and being next to Ciudadela Park is also a plus. Note that hotel is also close to Estacio de França, which is the terminus for the train that links airport to city... More

We've been in Barcelona in mid March, and stayed at La Ciudadela hotel. It is a very nice hotel. Rooms are not big, but for a turist looking to enjoy the town are very good. Personnel was nice and helpful. It is situated close to Metro station and there is a bus station in front. I warmly recommend this hotel... More

I took my daughters to Barcelona for Christmas and we stayed a the La Cuidadela hotel. The location is wonderful! The hotel is an easy walk to the subway, to the Picasso Museum, and to great shops and restaurants. We enjoyed having the park right across the street, it was a great place to relax. Service was friendly, and it was... More

The hotel rooms are located on the upper floor, above the hotel restaurant. Location is great, the Ciudadela park is in front of the hotel and it's a 10 minutes walk to the Barri Gothic. It is as near to the touristic center as to be comfortable but as far from the most crowded locations as to be unexpensive and... More

This hotel has a central location and yet away from the noise. We stayed at the corner room (rm#118) which gives us a nice view of the la ciudadela park right across the street and also the Arc de Triomphe. According to Frommer's this hotel is fairly new, constructed only in 2005 I think. Rooms are clean and contemporary. It... More

Nice hotel. Good location. Quite and next to Ciudadela park, which is a great place to walk and relax. It is a fifteen minute walk from Ramblas. It is also a five minute away from a Touristic Bus stop if you are interested to take this two day tour around the city. Would recommend it for a short stay. But... More

Staying in Ciutadella / Vila Olimpica

Neighbourhood Profile
Ciutadella / Vila Olimpica
The sounds of Marina Olympica's rocking boats and clicking mastheads swaying to and fro set an impressive backdrop for Ciutadella and Villa Olimpica. Follow the aromas of garlic, wine, and fresh local fish to the various restaurants running along the marina. A grand bronze fish statue soaring high above serves as a beacon to those searching for the renowned Casino Barcelona or the extremely popular nightclubs which practically lie on the beach itself.
