I booked this hotel online and whilst the website messed up the dates Sergio was fantastic at replying to my emails and straightening it all out. My parents also stayed here and after being away and staying in hotels/b&bs night after night for 3 weeks, it was such a wonderful stay and we were relieved to be in such a...

We arrived at the hostel in the dark of the evening but had no problem finding it. It is situated about 5 mins walk away from the Place de Catalunya, right in the heart of Barcelona, where the Aeroport bus (cheap and regular) can drop you off. Admittedly the entrance is via a darkened stairwell and their are no lift...

We contacted the hotel via e-mail and were surprised at how responsive they were. We booked Room 107 and our friends booked Room 105. The hotel is two blocks from two different metro stations covering four different lines. It is at the center of four different neighborhoods of importance to you if you are here for pleasure. Even though we...

We stayed at the l'antic for 7 nights in room 102 and we had a pleasant stay but wish we booked some-where not on the main road as the traffic was constant day and night. The first mornig we ordered the American breakfast which was quite disapointing when it came no cheeses no muffins and only one one glass of...

Actually we are on a main road and well-communicated from the city of Barcelona. A normally bustling streets but especially noise-proof windows. This room also has a gazebo or second cabinet space that acts as insulation between the room and outside. So far it has not been a source of complaints from customers due to noise. Being in the center...

In all fairness to the Hostal L'Antic Espai, I feel the need to respond because of the review by mer772 from Montreal. I booked a room for May 2008 via email. I was incredibly surprised how Sergio or Abel responded so quickly! I had several questions and emailed several times. Each response was detailed, VERY friendly and courteous. After booking...

This hotel is an easy walk from Playa de Catalunya and the Passeig de Gracia (a three-line Metro transfer station), so great, convenient location. The staff was helpful and the decor beautiful. But we had a (very small) room off the terrace and it was the noisiest room we've ever been in! There is a day care playground just over...

Our hostel is located in the heart of Barcelona. On the front we have a main street that we are also very well communicated. Street: Gran Via of the Catalan Cortes. Who comes here, it does so, first, by this privileged location, that connects us with three subway stations in central Barcelona. In addition to hundreds of bus lines. In...

First: We are not staying at the Hostal L'Antic Espai! Secondly: We are traveling to Spain the last two weeks of this coming December 2007, but thought it very important to mention my experience trying to book a room at L'antic Espai. Third: I sent them several requests for a reservation via email but not ONE reply or any form...

am manager of reservations from L'Antic Espai and I am in my right of reply to a comment tendentious and malicious by the lady identified as mer772 from Montreal, Canada. First of all I would like to make it clear that NONE of those accusations is true. These are the facts: First: she said she is not staying at Antic...

My husband and I recently stayed at Hostal L'Antic Espai for three nights before leaving on a cruise and then for one night before we flew out of Spain. We found the staff to be very, very helpful. They suggested restaurants, called taxis and put up graciously with our lack of Spanish. We stayed in room 107 and really enjoyed...

First off, let me say I have extensive travel experience in Europe with hotels of all classes. For me, this property served its purpose. It is quite well situated, attractive and clean. The negatives were the noise on Gran Via (not tons of traffic at night, but this is a major thoroughfare, so there are plenty of cars passing by...

Initially we’d like to apologize for your frustrated expectations. This is not usual. We offer a product that is shown through our website and the most of our customers are satisfied. The entrance is wide and majestic, that’s what we can wait of a building of one hundred and eighteen years. All rooms have windows or doors and it’s obvious...

I booked this on the strength of TripAdvisor reviews and I wasn't disappointed. You won't find it on expedia but try a site called easytobook dot com. It can be a little tricky to find first time but look for a red flag over the doorway. If you're coming by train, it's just two blocks from Passege de Gracia mainline...

Staying in Eixample

Neighbourhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
