Stayed here for one night, last October with my partner. Location can't be beat, right in the middle of town and steps from the metro. The staff was friendly and offered good suggestions when we asked. Beds were okay, building and rooms are kind of institutional; lacked a certain character. Reasonably clean and did not notice anything buggy or filthy....

So the big positive is the location, right off the Ramblas. Great location. Obviously, central Bacelona, watch your possessions, look out for pick pockets and steer clear of the insane (care in the community?) if they approach you! Staff at the hostel are friendly and do their best to help. They are knowledgeable and happy to advise. Room very basic...

I was hopeful about this place as the receptionist was friendly and there we some chatty people outside who assured me it was ok for the money. However it was horrific... Three groups of teenagers ran up and down screaming all night and setting off the fire alarms. When I told reception they shrugged and said its always like that...

Just got back from a weekend stag do where 18 of us stayed at this hostel. Slightly apprehensive after reading reviews but the location looked good. On arrival everything was fine. We all checked in no problem. The two rooms were basic with bunk beds and a locker each. The toilet and showers were shared but clean and working. Having...

Three large groups of 19 year old's from the Netherlands, England and somewhere else. SCREAMING and shouting their heads off ALL night long, no kidding!!!!!! OMG! They rattled doors, sang loudly going down the hallways and stairs, banging around the whole Barcelona Center Rambles IYHA hostel. The police should have been called, but apparently that is what goes on EVERY...

My room smelled like an unclean bathroom (I mean it) - we had to sleep with the windows open in order to not be intoxicated by it! The bathroom itself smelled even worse and the showers didn't provide hot water (needless to say that they looked dirty...). Conditions are just TERRIBLE. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

This place is fullllllllll of bed bugs and the rooms and toilets are nasty. From the minute you walk into the place you can see the disorganised staff and nasty environment. I am suffering from a bad allegeric reaction to bed bugs right now. I just want to say, this place is very, very unclean, and the light in the...

The only good part of this hostel is the location, it is right on la rambla, near the markets, not far from some major sights, the metro etc. But if u want a nice place to stay, don't come here. They claimed to be 10 mins walking distance from the beach and they also said they had a kitchen. Completely...

Location and price are good. Very loud even at 3 and 4 AM, seemed like people were having a party in the hallway. Breakfast was the most minimal of any of the 7 hostels I stayed at on this trip. Bread to toast, muffins in plastic wrappers, juice and coffee/tea plus dry cereal. Next time I'll stay somewhere else, Barcelona...

Barcelona has many hostels that are great. This one was just tolerable. The rooms weren't the cleanest. They do have lockers and computers though. Wouldn't suggest paying over 20 to stay there.

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
