Nice courteous guy at reception when I arrived. Room clean but very very dated. No chill out area. Good wi-fi. Great location --- Metro entrance/exit 20 metres from hostal. .No coffee machine in hallway. No amenities. Probably wouldn't revist and woud only slighlty recommend if stuck.

Great hostel. Very good location - near to metro station and bust stop. We got everything what we expected - own bedroom, an access to bathroom and a room service (which we did not expect :) ) No problems with check-in and check-out.

I stayed 6 nights and paid 220 euros (£170) and wouldn't have paid anymore than that. I had a window that looked out at a ventilation shaft (although that was just pot-luck), there was one plug-socket and that was awkwardly placed high up. There was a electric fan provided that worked well but I had to re-organise the bedroom so...

The location is good, in the city centre, close to the "râmbolas". But everything else is below you might expect: the staff are not very professional in the way they deal with their guests, the building is old and ugly and not very clean.

The location was really good. The hostel is in the city center. The staff was helpful and kind. The hostel located in the big residential building. The walls were very thin, from the neighbours everything was audible. The room’s furnishing was poor. In the room, it wasn’t table and chair. It was only one bed, bedside wardrobe and tap. The...

I have stayed in a lot of hostels. For what it was it was expensive it reeked of smoke there was no window in the room and no toilet roll in the shared bathroom. Worst of all the people on reception did not speak English and the woman who goes around making the beds screamed her head off shouting around...

Everything is dirty and old in this place. They let you pay for 2 nights instead of 1, because they know that you want to leave this ugly place. At night it is noisy and people come in and out. So you can;t sleep well.

It's been many years, though I still can't forget the dreadful experience of my first trip abroad alone as an exchange student. It's a pity I wasn't aware of the tripadvisor then, I would save my time, my money and my psychology :). I had to book something cheap for the first 3 days until I rent a room in...

We were two girlfriends - young students, so we didn't expect much! After reading some reviews and looking at the pictures we thought this hostal will be fine. At first, everything seemed okay. A small room with a tiny bathroom but we didn't plan on staying inside anyway so we thought that it;s just what we need. Delfos is on...

i booked one single room for two nights. i chose this hotel just because it was really two steps away from university. once i got inside the building: panic! fear! everything looked old and dark. at first, the man at the reception was friendly and he welcomed me singing "patricia" (that's my name). but my good impression finished here. my...

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
